The guest did not attempt to communicate any of this information during his stay or to allow us to address any of these issues. This was a same day check-out/check in. Cleaning crew discovered an emergency issue with refrigerator leaking due to a clogged defrost line, Repair was completed same day - within 2 hours of check out of previous guest. The odor was probably from the refrigerator - and current guest (not booked through VRBO) has not reported issues. Washer and Dryer are on the back porch and open to air. Had Mark notified us- I would have sent cleaning crew over to address all of these issues immediately. As for the steps and the furniture - I will have these issues addressed as soon as possible - but have not had any other complaints of any of those items. Please note: Old Houses (this house was built in 1929). have a certain "charm" - and is rented at an extremely affordable rate, and is extremely pet friendly. Please take this review with a grain of salt, compared to all other reviews. We take cleanliness and maintenace extremely seriously, and strive to provide the best possible experience for the cost - most of our previous guests have had excellent experiences with us, and we have several repeat customers.

My grandsons are 7, 6 and 4. I'm amazed at how long the dollhouse holds their attention and it's fun to watch them - they make up all kinds of scenarios (one just gets "deliveries" from the grocery store and amazon). They have very little screen time when they are there.

So happy you enjoyed your stay. Road noise is such a relative thing... my condo in Florida that I live in full time is very noisy, and myself (and quite a few guests) think it's "quiet". But it definitely can take some getting used to. There are quite a few "white noise" and meditation "low light" videos on Amazon Prime (or apps on the phone) - think beach waves, rain, forest noises, etc. Hopefully - we can host you again, and that will help. I wish you had let me know that someone had smoked in the house - as it is absolutely not allowed. The cleaning crew was there and did not notice anything - nor did the guests who came after you, so I'm not sure what we could do. It is near a busy street, as it is close to downtown. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay.

I'm very sorry that Jillann did not enjoy her stay. There is outdoor lighting, not sure what she would consider adequate. She left because the police knocked on the door across the street - which is excessive. There are secure locks and an alarm system she could have turned on - and the police could be knocking for so many reasons that are in no way indicative of an "unsafe" neighborhood (serving a summons, welfare check, etc.). We allowed an early check in - and she was there about 11 hours before she left, after first asking for an iphone charger, and then leaving because the police were across the street. I've had no complaints about these neighbors (seems to be a sober living or other sort of adult facility - they are quiet and mind their own business).
