Welcome to the Irondale Manor, an 1870s farmhouse with modern touches. While only half a mile from Millerton's Main St, one of America's coolest small towns, the house sits on over 7 acres with gorgeous views of the Berkshires. The house is great for staying in with a cozy living room, game room, and year round porch built for curling up with a book and a cup of tea (Check out the Harney & Son's flagship location around the corner). There is a hot tub, and fire pit and an above ground pool open in the summer months. But, if you're looking to explore other small towns, Millerton is centrally located and is roughly 30 minutes from Rhinebeck and Millbrook, Great Barrington, Stockbridge, and Lakeville. Not to mention nearby Catamount Ski resort, multiple golf courses including Copake Country Club, and hiking trails including the Rail Trail that is accessible right in Millerton. We look forward to hosting you! Please note we have a 4 night min. stay in summer months.

As advertised .. comfortable, clean, full kitchen, large patio with relaxing view, clean pool & hot tub, yard .. bathrooms , bedroom, beds, linen and towels all good .. full laundry, plenty of parking all with a country farmhouse flavor .. Millerton is a neat little town with all one needs just down the road ..

The guys had a pet mouse in the house. And they installed the A/C that they found in a closet or they would have died from the heat.

Hi Sandra, Thanks again for your stay. Sorry about the mouse, it is a country house and it can happen particularly near seasonal changes. I wish you would have reached out regarding the A/C. Each room has a mini split that has A/C. The ones in the closet are just back up in case the mini split system ever goes down. There was directions in the book left on the kitchen counter along with the complementary slippers. Sorry if it was an inconvenience though. We hope we can host you again in the future. Best, Justin

Trip Away with Family

Great family stay

We had a great family vacation here. Just the right size for the 8 of us. Great views from the hot tub. The host sent a detailed welcome message to get us ready for the stay and replied to my message very quickly. Looking forward to another stay.

Lovely weekend getaway !

The property was just as described. Great location, ample space and equipped with all the essentials. Perfect for a large family. We truly enjoyed ourselves during our stay and got to visit nearby places that were suggested by the host. Would definitely stay here again.

Upstate weekend

This was a great place to stay for my family of 5 and my brother’s family of 4. The grounds are so nice and the fire was amazing. One thing to note is that the room with the twin beds is accessible through another bedroom. It was a great weekend with family!

Family Reunion in Millerton, NY

This house is welcoming to all ages. The property is stunning with glorious mountain vistas. The pool was enjoyed as relief from the heat. Some of us also relaxed in the hot tub. We sat around the fire pit, roasted marshmallows and star gazed at night. The king size bed was super comfortable. The house allowed everyone to have their private space but we could also gather and enjoy meals together around the big dining room table. The town of Millerton is delightful and the surrounding area including Taconic State Park provide great summer fun.

Mediocre farmhouse

I rented this house for my family for a wedding weekend. The house was conveniently located about a half mile from town. However it was right on Route 22 and we could hear cars driving on the road. Some of the beds were uncomfortable and the bedrooms were sparsely furnished, some with hardly any furniture in them at all, not even a small nightstand next to the bed in at least one of the rooms. Although the house was spacious it was awkwardly laid out. Although the furniture in the common areas were adequate the rest of the furniture in the bedrooms was cheap and flimsy. It was refreshing to cool off in the above ground pool and the grounds in the backyard were lovely.

Truly great!

We had a really great time at Irondale Manor! We had a problem getting into the house with the code, but the host was responsive and quick to help us get inside. We didn't have a problem after that. The house is spacious, yet charming. The property is fantastic! We were there as the leaves were changing and what a view! Sitting in the hot tub, fire pit going, it was really something. There is a playground nearby, with an entrance a few houses down. We weren't there with our kids, but we could see (not hear) children swinging. The town of Millerton is right around the corner, which was super convenient, considering it feels like you're isolated when chilling at the house. Millbrook is about 25 minutes away, but it's a very pretty drive to get there. All in all, we had a great time and look forward to staying at Irondale Manor again next year!

Interesting Property but some surprises.

Very interesting and obviously a very old farmhouse with lots of character. We enjoyed our stay but there were a lot of surprises not disclosed in the listing or communicated by the owner. One of the bedrooms had to be accessed via another bedroom or through a closet access which was blocked by the bed. This caused a privacy issue with sleeping children and other occupants. A second bedroom was only accessed through another bedroom or back staircase from the first floor. Occupants of that room had to go through another bedroom or descend a flight of stairs to access a bathroom. One bedroom was sparsely furnished, void of night tables and bed lamps, only an overhead light that you had to get out of bed to turn off. The primary staircase has a landing that has somehow been reduced in width to only about a 16 inch passage, was difficult to carry luggage past the landing, older guests required assistance. Rear staircase also narrow and difficult with luggage. House is retrofitted with mini split HVAC units that were difficult understand if they were operating correctly, screens showing error messages. Pool was not open although other VRBO's in town that other family rented had pools open and used. Hot Tub was not hot, turned it on, warmed up but came back later it was cold again. Garage messy, full of owners personal items. NO SHOES ALLOWED IN HOUSE! WAY Overpriced for quality. Too many small issues to deal with for a short stay when trying to relax with family.

Hi Terry, Sorry you had some issues with the house. I wish you would have reached out, I would have been happy to help with any issues with mini splits or the hot tub, or anything else for that matter. This is the first time we’ve had complaints. Sorry about the pool, but it is advertised as being open in summer months, not May.

Our second stay just as good as the first

This house is comfortable AND fun: hot tub, giant TV, well-equipped kitchen with big dining room. Also: easy (rail trail) and mountain hikes you can walk to or take a short ride. I loved the mattress in our bedroom. Close to town of Millerton with cute shops.

Wonderful house on a beautiful property

Well appointed house that was perfect for our family of 9. Everyone was comfortable and the kitchen had everything. House is clean and easy to hang out in. Plenty of space inside and outside. Close to town! We had a great stay.

A wonderful property perfect for a family with children

We had an amazing time - lots of rooms for different kinds of moments including a cozy TV room with fireplace, sun porch, outdoor hot tub, as for game room. A wonderful property perfect for a family with children or several adults hanging out. Even our teens loved it. I hope to be back in the summer we can use the outdoor pool and enjoy even more hiking and biking. Justin was helpful and responsive - a super stay!

My wife and I met in college at Pace University roughly 20 years ago (don't worry I remember the date) and reside in Brooklyn. One of our shared passions is travel and we've explored all over Europe and the US. With our son's busy schedule, traveling has become a bit harder. So we decided to purchase a vacation home for holidays and weekend getaways!

We bought this property to enjoy with family and friends. We wanted something that would be comfortable for several people to stay in so when we hosted people it wouldn't feel like they are staying at someone else's house, but their own. The location of the property was also key for our purchase, being 2 hours from NYC, 15 minutes from the train, walking distance from town (about a 1/2 mile), but also sitting on 7 acres of privacy. The views from the hot tub or back yard fire pit are amazing yet secluded and can also be enjoyed on rainy or snowy days from the year round porch we recently remodeled.

While we hadn't heard of Millerton before, discovering it has been a dream. The town itself is something out of a Hallmark movie with its quant but busy main street, antique shops, nearby farmers markets and lovely locals. And the town's location is perfect for people who like to explore. Within 30 minutes you can visit Hudson Valley gems like Rhinebeck, sip wine at the Millbrook vineyard, ski the Berkshires at Catamount or visit Norman Rockwell's Stockbridge. Whether you want to explore the region or stay in and enjoy the company, the Manor is perfect.
