Great place, but shower was unclean
This is a very nice guest house. It fit our needs. Only major negative was that the shower wasn’t cleaned properly. There was hair hanging from the walls. And the “sponge pad” on the shower floor was disgusting. It felt like a stale wet rag shared with every previous guests’ feet. We ended up showering at our friends’ house. I’m guessing not being properly cleaned was an oversight because the rest of the house was clean.
The only other negative, but minor, was the smell of sulphur from the well water. You get used to it, but as soon as you come in from the outside, it’s very obvious again. But it wasn’t a dealbreaker for us, especially compared to the shower situation.
Those issues aside, it really is a nice place. It seems recently renovated. Many things felt brand new - appliances, dishes, etc. They even had stuff for kids like books and a small desk, crayons. There is plenty of fresh water to drink from the water dispenser.
The neighborhood is very nice to walk around. There are cows and horses to see if you go further in. The back yard is wide open as well, and has a picnic table that I wish we had time to use. It is very peaceful here. Having said that, there was at least 1 if not 2 big loud events nearby. The music was loud enough to hear from inside the house. But they were done by 10:30. Not the hosts fault, though. In fact, she was nice enough to let us know that the actual house (not guest house) was having a party and didn’t want it to ruin our stay.
