Tom’s hospitality, the setting overall, the living space, all came together to make for a great weekend. We like our trees and the Oaks in and around the property were incredible. It was such a quiet and safe place to stay; always good to return after activities in and around Atascadero, which has some really outstanding restaurants and a deli you can’t miss. Definitely going back to the Portola Inn!

Tom is a wonderful host! We enjoyed a peaceful, quiet retreat in his quaint guest home. The property is beautifully landscaped!

The property is lovely. Secluded, quiet, very well maintained. Tom was on top of everything; the guest house was clean and fully stocked with anything that would be needed. We had a two-year-old with us, and he had a great time exploring the large green spaces. Highly recommend staying here.

My wife and I and our dog stay here several times each summer as it fits our needs pefectly -- peaceful and spacious grounds, comfortable accomodations, and good access to the dog friendly beaches in Cayucos. Tom is a great host.

The guest house was perfect for us and we enjoyed exploring the grounds and gardens.

We really enjoyed our stay at this charming property. We had a last minute change in vacation plans and were lucky to find this gem! Peggy was a wonderful hostess!

Great place to stay, beautiful grounds

Loved our stay at this little cottage. Had everything we could need, super comfortable sofa bed as well. Really comfy clean little house, very private, no other guests on property. Fruit trees, amazing grounds, wood swing, and other charming features. Love love loved it!

Cozy cabin feel and so quiet

Very attentive property manager who responded to all our requests immediately. The cottage was so cozy and the premises is beautiful. I would definitely stay here again.

For my wife and I and our dog the guest house at Portola Inn in the perfect getaway -- quiet, everything one needs, good food options, close to the dog freiendly beach in Cayucos, and a beautiful property.

Where to even begin?Tom is a delightful host, communicative, attentive, and knowledgeable. We felt right at home, and safe. The property was so beautiful, you truly feel like you are able to breathe, connect with nature, and explore. We were delighted to experience the garden, and wander the gorgeous landscape. Tom has taken so much care to not only create an immaculate beautiful landscape, but he is also a great stewart with his environmental resources. I was blown away. The views are breathtaking, and we also saw a doe and her baby wandering about! There are plenty of places to sit outside and take in the beauty around you. The house is lovely, we had everything that we needed. We will definately be back!I highly recommend.

Pet friendly. Location and the stay overall was phenomenal. Tom was amazing, he showed us around a bit. My significant other was mesmerized by the history. Will definitely be back and next time, we are making time to hear more about the history. Also got to see some turkeys roaming around in the morning.

Great property, friendly hosts

We stayed a couple nights for a Father/Son visit to the area for a 4th grade research project. The guest house was perfect for our needs, and the outdoor sitting areas handy for meals I prepared in the kitchen. Highly recommended!

Private and Charming

Owners are wonderful, guided us to the house on a late night, met us with upon arrival. Super clean house and secluded! Pet friendly and great location to explore Paso Robles - we will definitely go back on our next trip!
