This was a beautiful little cottage and the host Ellen was excellent with all communication and making sure we felt welcome and comfortable. The cottage was clean, very well stocked with everything we needed, and the property was beautiful along the creek. Perfect place to stay for families or small groups with plenty of sleeping arrangements. Will definitely stay here again when in the area!

It was THE cutest, coziest cottage. Home away from home with a nice deck and comfortable furniture by a beautiful rippling stream with a hot tub, grill and fire ring. The decor is cozy, adorable and comfortable. Lots of extra blankets to keep warm and lots of games and books! I would love to have stayed longer if time had allowed.

We loved our stay at Jarrett Creek Cottage. We rented the house for a nearby trail race, and I could not have asked for better convenience and comfort. The back deck was so relaxing.

The only downside is the LP gas chargrill needs it's inside parts replaced or entire grill replacement. If your not into grilling then it's a mute point. Great place to enjoy the mountains of NC. Very nice accomodations, all you need to bring is your toothbrush. Super nice being beside the creek and very accessable to the trails of Old Fort.

We thanked that grill for its service and have replaced it with a brand new propane grill. There is always an extra tank of propane at the cottage so you will never run out. The Jarrett Creek cottage was a wonderful retreat. It was clean and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable, and it was nicely furnished with antique pieces and quality linens. The kitchen was well stocked including a convenient coffee bar setup. The family room was comfortable with extra touches including blankets, games, puzzles, and some books. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck by the creek. Also loved that the house was stocked with toiletries and paper goods so we didn’t need to bring extras. Ellen, the host, was very kind and quick to respond in all our communications. We will definitely come back again.

I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay! We love that Jarrett Creek Cottage is a place where you can relax and enjoy your visit to the Asheville/Old Fort/Black Mountain area. I do stock the house with everything the house needs for your stay. You shouldn’t have to run out and buy, or remember to pack toilet roll, laundry detergent, dishwasher pods or trash bags. Amazing house, great host! The area is perfect for mountain biking and hiking from. The kitchen was really well stocked so we could whip up meals. I’m definitely going to be coming back!!

Fabulous cabin. We’ve never seen such a well-stocked kitchen. Everything was set up in a way that made us feel welcome and comfortable. Among other things, we enjoyed the fire pit near the stream and found a wonderful hike nearby. Thank you Ellen for being such a thoughtful host!

Blue Ridge

This cottage was perfect the gurgling creek was so peaceful. Perfectly located for a day trip to chimney rock and then a cruise on the blue ridge parkway the next day.

Best ever!!!

We loved this cottage. The back deck is spectacular. The decor is beautiful, kitchen well stocked and the host was very quick to respond with questions. We definitely hope to stay again!

Wonderful relaxing get away

This is such a great place to stay when visiting the area. We spent allot of time in Black Mountain and Montreat because my husband went to college there, but might just come back and stay in or around the cabin. Our kids loved the creek and hot tub. We also enjoyed a hike and had friends over to grill. Everything is just right to have a great family weekend.

Perfect house

Great home and great location!

Our family had a great stay! The house was spacious, clean, and welcoming, and Ellen was very communicative and accommodating. Old Fort was a great location for us to be able to explore different areas like Asheville, Black Mountain/Montreat, and the Lake James area. We loved having a fire pit and a deck next to the water, too. We hope to be back!

Perfect family vacation!

The pictures of the cottage does noy do it justice. It is absolutely beautiful! My family enjoyed playing in the creek, lounging in the hot tub, and just sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee listening to the creek. The beds were also comfortable. All the little extras were just amazing. Highly recommend!

Perfect creekside rental

Jarrett Creek Cottage is delightful. It is beautifully appointed, well equipped, very clean and Ellen, the owner, was very friendly and responsive. We couldn't have asked for more. My 4 children had a blast playing in the creek and exploring the adjacent acreage. If we return to the area, we would absolutely stay there again and highly recommend it for families.

LOVELY

We had an absolute blast at this lovely home. We spent a tremendous amount of time outdoors sitting by the stream, in the hot tub, or by the fire. This house is comfortable, clean, and well stocked. We will definitely return to this property. Also, in old fort the cinnamon rolls at Go Go’s are amazing!

Book it!

5-star stay from top to bottom. Great location, perfect host, awesome house - old farmhouse feel, cozy, but nicely updated and laid out well. Great room and hot tub overlook babbling creek, bank of rhododendron and patio with grill and fire pit. There are lots of nearby hiking/biking trails, shops in Black Mountain and local grocery and taverns. We loved it!

Well-stocked charming home!

We had a great time at Jarrett cottage! The house is well-stocked, clean, and so cozy. Ellen, the host, is very responsive and made us feel very welcome. The creek next to the house is amazing - our kids had so much fun playing by it. We found it very easy to go to Black Mountain and Asheville from the house. I would definitely rent this house again!

Beautiful and comfortable cottage along stream

We have stayed at many VBROs and this one had to be the best stocked and comfortable! Coffee, tea, spices, paper products, soap and shampoos all provided! Owner extremely responsive and so helpful! Very comfortable beds and furniture. Old fort is a small but cute town. We preferred location over hectic Asheville. We will come back!

Wonderful!

A wonderful time in a beautiful, “feels like home” cottage in the country, with a babbling creek right out the door to explore! A great location to drive to waterfalls, caverns, hikes, shopping, dining, and other fun adventures. To top it off, the kindest host you will meet - helpful, responsive, and gracious.
