Sunset House is beautiful, the views from the deck are spectacular. The surrounding nature (birds, trees, etc) so calming and peaceful. We were celebrating the 90th birthday of my mother that weekend and she was so happy with her time there! The upstairs master bedroom/bathroom combo was perfect for her. Added bonus was seeing a family of black bears one morning! Cute as can be! :) Check in/out process was easy, hosts were kind and communicative. It was a wonderful weekend! :)

Beautiful home

The house was beautiful and worked well for our need of 4 bedrooms and at least 2 baths We had a wedding at camp rockmont so we didn’t use the house but to sleep and rest.

Great view and loved the fire pit in the evenings! All rooms were very clean and all the kitchen utensils and cookware were in great condition.

Great Family Escape

We had an awesome time at the Sunset House. It was spacious enough for our multigenerational family and very close to everything in Black Mountain!

Fabulous place

Really enjoyed this place. Beautiful house and gorgeous views and setting. Only 5 minutes from Black mountain downtown but felt like we were more remote.

Black Mountain Stay

Wonderful place, great location and amenities. House was so clean and firepit makes for a nice touch. We even enjoyed the bear who came to visit one early morning! He didnt stay long but was quite a sight.

Book Club Weekend

This house was PERFECT for our girls’ trip! There was room for the 5 of us. We loved the view!!!!! Wish we could have stayed longer.

A week well spent

Sunset house is a truly beautiful home in one of the more beautiful parts of our country. Mountain Views and five minutes from town, what’s not to love?

Made a family get-together an excellent time

Wanted a little family reunion with our kids, spouses, and grandkids and came across Sunset House. The location was so convenient to grocery, restaurants, and downtown Black Mountain. The upper fire pit was an awesome gathering place (the mornings and evenings were cool and the fires with the view were amazing). The house was clean and comfortable. Would love to come back.

Sunset sensation

We spent a week with our adult children and grandchildren and had a wonderful vacation. This home has been beautifully restored and has elements of the old and new blended together perfectly. We love that the original fireplace and front steps have been preserved. The colors throughout the home are very pleasant and you can’t beat the views from the deck. I would recommend this property for families.

Relaxing time away!

Our family loved the entire experience from playing games inside to corn hole outside. The only thing we did end up doing was buying some glade plugins for our stay because the house had an unpleasant smell to it. Not sure if it’s because it’s pet friendly or what.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

We had a great relaxing getaway at the sunset house. The house has 100 year old stone elements original to the home but it’s been nicely updated to give you all the amenities of a modern home. Communication was perfect. Zero issues. Would absolutely stay again. Black Mountain is super quaint with great food and shops too!

Sunset House is a Must

The Sunset House more than exceeded our expectations on location, cleanliness and overall quaintness! The house was in great condition and the decor made it feel like a fun place to hang out in! We enjoyed our stay and our time in the town of Black Mountain! Only suggestion is to hang some sort of blind, shade or curtain in the room with the daybed...sunrise made for some early wake times.

Great stay!

This was an awesome location for our family. We wanted to be close to DT Black Mountain, Ridgecrest camp, hiking and groceries. This fit the bill! House was well stocked (appreciate the gift of local beers upon arrival!) and comfortable. We saw bunnies and a black bear in the yard. Very much enjoyed the fire pit overlooking the mountains - perfect for sunsets. ONLY complaint was that we could hear the highway from the back deck and lower bedrooms, but we got used to it by the end of the week. Great private little getaway to make memories.

Family fun at sunset house

The house is in a convenient location and we had a lovely stay. Is has a well appointed kitchen with plenty of glasses, utensils etc. We enjoyed the fire pit, grill, beanbag toss and all the seating provided. WIFI password provided by text and email was incorrect( correct in book at the house) no instruction for recycling was provided and the dumpster would not lock. Also, we were told by management company that no water hose or firewood was provided but in reality it was. Hope these comments help.
