This lake was absolutely gorgeous. The house was remarkably clean and very well-stocked. The views from the property were absolutely breathtaking. The bathtub was the cleanest I have ever seen. Most importantly, the host was very prompt and easy to communicate with. This house was very spacious for large families. I will definitely be booking it again in the future. There is nothing negative to be said about this home. If you're looking to make memories this is the house to do it in

Great Location & Amazing View of the Lake!

The property is well kept and very roomy for a large family vacation. The lake access is perfect and view is amazing from the deck. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a vacation on Lake Chatuge.

Great stay!

Hey we had a great time and the lake house was beautiful! There was plenty of room for our family and we created wonderful memories! It was our first time at this lake and we will definitely be back. We did want to pass on some feedback just so the management company is aware and can help fix for anyone staying there in the future! Several of the glasses, pots, pans, and utensils we noticed upon arrival were dirty and needed to be cleaned. There were also pistachio shells on the deck that had not been cleaned up. And the grill outside is in desperate need of cleaning. We lost chicken on our first night because we didn’t realize how greasy it was so we just wanted to pass it on as it’s a definite fire hazard. Otherwise it’s a great stay and we definitely enjoyed our trip!

This house was very roomy and had everything you needed. The fire pit was great at night and the location was right next to Margaritaville Jacks. You can rent boats and have a drink at the bar on the dock. Would come back again.

Great Stay with Wonderful Lake Views!

Our group loved staying at this home. The porch overlooking Chatuge Lake was perfect for a morning coffee or an evening cocktail! It's so convenient for a short drive to Hayesville or to Hiawassee. The host was very attentive to questions we had during our stay. Highly recommend this wonderful home as a place for others!

Perfect Spot for a Girls’ Weekend!

We had an amazing stay! The home was perfect! Very clean, spacious enough for our large group, and stocked with all the essentials we needed. I had a couple of questions prior to check-in, and Priscilla was quick to respond and great to work with. The lake was absolutely beautiful and made the whole weekend extra relaxing. We loved everything about it and will definitely be back!

Great Lake Weekend

We had a great time staying at The Great Lake Escape! Very nice house with nice accommodations The view off the deck is a nice touch as well. Hopefully we can come back and spend more time with you guys.

Pros:*Pet friendly!*Location was great, close to boat launch; quiet, secluded cove.*House was roomy, nicely decorated; ceilings fans appreciated!*Plenty of towels, extra toiletries.*Upstairs kitchen well stocked, including a slow cooker and Keurig.*Downstairs queen beds w/foam mattresses very comfortable!*AC worked well and stayed cold at night.*Downstairs de-humidifiers worked well, kept things dry.*Loved the deck and outdoor tables on upper level.*Gas grill was awesome, used it every day.*Loved the large, covered dock and swim ladder!Cons:*No closet downstairs to hang things or put things away.*Downstairs oven/stove was not hooked up, so not usable (also, no dishes or silverware downstairs.)*No reading lamps, so if you like to read in bed at night, bring a book light!*Outlets down at the dock did not work.*If you bring your own boat (like we did) be sure to drive down the hill to the lower driveway to turn around! No room to turn around w/boat on the upper driveway!Overall the four of us did enjoy our stay at this house on Lake Chatuge, and we especially appreciated that we could bring our dogs! We love the lake and it's getting harder to find pet-friendly places to stay there. It wasn't a 5-star place, but definitely a solid 4-4.5 stars, and we would certainly consider staying there again. Thank you!:)

Fall Getaway

Ww had a wonderful experience stating at this property. The lake views were absolutely beautiful ! We also enjoyed boating on Lake Chatuge. The accommodations were great & the house was very clean. We hope to come back again

Perfect house for my family. Always clean, good location and beautiful view. Suggest coffee pot downstairs, more coffee cups upstairs and tap corners of room in living room for safety

Great house for family

The house was very clean and well equipped. It is on a busy road but not noisy at all, and it was nice to have convenient access to nearby towns. We had one issue with WiFi and the manager was very responsive, and it was quickly fixed.

Thanksgiving Weekend Stay

This home is very nice and a good location. It sits close to the home next door but still feels very private. Great view of the lake. A couple of nit pick items include hot tub jets did not work, outside garbage cans were full when we arrived

Great week at the lake

We loved the location on the lake, the dock and house. Fabulous sunset and mountain views. Close to Hiawassee and right next to great marina and boat rental as well as a Tiki Bar at the end of the marina. No noise from the marina or tiki bar either. Easy check in and assistance

A slice of heaven on the lake!

Easy access to property, boating ramp virtually next property, house was fully stocked, great linens & beds, entertainment area was large, top deck was great for entertaining and grilling with a marvelous view of sunset, downstairs outside patio was another great space! We plan to book again for next year!

Year #2

This was our second year in a Staying at the great Lake escape and we were not disappointed. This house provided ample room for our family. Ease of access to the dock is wonderful especially with young kids and aging adults. We tended to cook in and the kitchen was like being at home. We love this house!

Absolutely perfect quiet location Sunset was breathtaking Loved the convenience of the marina right next to us The dock was so perfect to hang out in and enjoy the lake. The house had the perfect accommodations for our group of ladies. The property manager is excellent! She always answers within 2 hours of a need. Highly recommend and will definitely be staying with this company in the future. Thank you Great Lake Escape

Great Lake Escape Review

The dock was excellent and the view was just beautiful! The home was clean and very well decorated. Loved the porches with plenty of comfortable seating (lots of naps were taken on those porches!) The hot tub was very nice as well. And the Master was lovely. I could not give it 5 stars because it was not really conducive to a family with small children. One if the rooms are right of the kitchen.... naps were rough! I would add a TV in the master (my husband complained about that). Also, I would make sure the lawn is mowed before guest arrive (ours was not). Also, if there is a way to remove the rocks down by the lake that would be great. We had to carry small children that can't swim off the dock over the rocks so they could get in the water. it wasn't easy. But all in all we had a great time.

Family fun

There were 10 of us ages 2-92. The house was very well stocked. Better than most of the vacation rentals I have been to. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. The dock was great for our pontoon boat. My family enjoyed our stay there and would stay again.
