Whether you’re relaxing indoors or spending time on the porch, the tranquil setting makes this the perfect getaway. Ideal for families, couples, or small groups this home offers everything you'll need for a peaceful and memorable stay. Bring a pole and enjoy the great fishing this lake provides or use the 3 kayaks for a day you'll never forget. Relax on this quiet lake in a hammock by yourself or at the campfire with family and friends. And you won't want to miss dining at The Douglas Lake Bar and Steakhouse, known to the locals as “The DLB", offering great food and live music on the lakeside patio in July and August.

There are 2 exterior cameras on the house that are for security reasons only when/if the property is vacant. Cameras WILL NOT be monitored during your stay

This lake house is the perfect location for day trips to Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, the U.P., Cross Village (tunnel of trees), Cheboygan, Petoskey, Harbor Springs or Charlevoix. It’s only a 15 minute drive to both Boyne Highlands and Nubs Knob ski resorts. You'll want to take advantage of the nearby snowmobile and hiking trails and golf courses. There are endless activities to do in northern Michigan no matter the season! **lake level varies by season**

Northern Michigan Fall Getaway

My parents and I loved our stay at this cabin! It was so incredibly peaceful and secluded on the lake within the forest, yet with easy access to stores.

Beautiful View Lakefront Cabin

Wonderful cozy cabin. Enjoyed the lake views and peak fall colors. Wood stove kept us toasty warm. Location perfect for day trips to Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Mackinaw City and Cheboygan.

Cozy and Calm

We enjoyed the week and the property. The shallow lake was perfect for grandchildren to play in and we enjoyed using the provided kayaks. Thank you to our hosts.

Another great stay

Family Getaway

The house was a nice place in a quiet area. It was nice to have space where we could enjoy a meal together and relax after being out and busy all day. Really enjoyed lake access and the use of kayaks and the fire pit. (Bring bug spray as the mosquitoes were active when we visited.)

Great Property

Very spacious, well-appointed, clean cottage on Douglas Lake. Everything was as described and fit our family's needs. Kitchen is large with lots of cabinet space. Plenty of room for our group to spread out. Loved the screened-in porch and the covered outdoor patio. Would definitely stay here again!

Centrally located!

Perfect spot to explore the area’s to the east and west, Harbor Springs, Petosky, Mackinaw and beyond! The cottage is exactly what you’d expect for on the lake, roomy and beautiful! The lake view is spectacular!

Amazing Stay

This was an amazing property and home. Sunset views were absolutely unreal. We came to visit Mackinac Island, but half of our group decided to just hang out at the cottage - that's how much we loved it. Very well stocked inside and we really enjoyed having the kayaks. Great communication with the host as well.

Great Week at the Lake

Great property on beautiful Douglas Lake! Everything was just as nice as the pictures in the listing. Jennifer was super responsive. Very spacious with lots of seating. Would definitely recommend for a family vacation spot!

Amazing property

This place was great! It was super clean and had everything you could possibly need. It is perfect for a family with all of the space it has. We especially liked the screened in porch at night playing games and relaxing. It is also in a great location only 20min drive to Mackinac city and Mackinac Island ferry. I would definitely recommend this house.

Birthday trip

Wonderful home and beautiful location. Easy check-in and out process. Everything we needed was there. Loved that there were soaps and such in the bathrooms. It was buggy outside and the water is well water, but we knew that going in. There was bug spray available and the water wasn’t an issue for us. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Lake Living

5 life long friends from all over gathered to enjoy Mackinac Island!! We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the cabin as much as the Island!! The home was amazing (pictures do not do justice) Very clean and welcoming! The view is breathtaking! We very much enjoyed the fire ring and comforting sound of the lake and its environment!!! It is very spacious and felt like home! Our host was easy to work with and the whole process was seamless!!

2nd year here!

We love this place. The weather was crap. But we LOVE the house and the location, so fun was still had. We’ll be back next year for sure! The water is so shallow it’s perfect for our little guys!

Peaceful getaway

The house is how it states in the description. The bedrooms are roomy and comfortable even without air conditioning it was nice that there were fans to move the cool night air. As others have stated I would bring bottled water because even though the water is safe to drink it doesn’t taste good. It would be a nice addition to have a 5 gallon water cooler. Overall, a lovely home to stay!!

Douglas Lake

House was as advertised and suited us well. Water level at the dock was lower than expected, less than a foot at the end of the dock. Did not realize water was not drinkable until we arrived. Got bottled water at the grocery and it worked out fine. Enjoyed the fire pit. House was one of the nicest houses we have rented in the area over the last 20 years!

Perfect lake house

We were looking for a peaceful, relaxing trip. This wonderful lake house was exactly what we needed and looked for. Walking in the door,we could see down the beautiful hallway to the lake. This home had everything we needed, from the lake views, fully stocked kitchen, comfortable bed, Apple TV, wifi, wood burning stove with ample firewood. The central location let us explore Petoskey to the south, Rogers City to the east, plus we were able to cross the Mackinac bridge to see Tahquanemon Falls area. We're looking forward to visiting again in warm weather so we can try out the kayaks that are available. We appreciated the ease of check in and availability of Jenn and Alan to answer our minor questions. Thank you for sharing your home with us, until next time.

Be very careful before you commit as water is extremely shallow !

Could not dock a boat as area was simply too shallow ! So no fishing which was main reason for renting on Douglass Lake in n. Mi.

Perfect Location with Ambiance

Perfectly located house to enjoy all the activities at the north end of the MI LP. We could easily get to the Mac, Harbor springs, etc. We did the Bridge Walk and the island. Very calming and beautiful ambiance sitting and grilling by the lake behind the house. The owner was very responsive via texts. All in all a pleasant view sit.

Levering Stay

We stopped here for 3 nights to take in Mackinac Island area before heading to UP. The kids (7 & 9) loved the dock, kayaks and the lake. The cabin was clean and well stocked. We had 3 adults as well and the house was spacious and clean. Only thing I would add is a Keurig but that might not go with the tap water! As noted in another review, take water for drinking and coffee. We did a load of laundry and that was fine however. The hosts were very helpful. Quiet yet easy to find and restaurants stores within 20 miles.

Awesome place!

The house was just perfect for our group of 6. We could have had the oldest bring a friend or had another couple come. The lake was super warm and incredibly shallow which was perfect since we had little kids with us. They could swim and play with little worry of floating away. Definitely want to go back!
