Waterfront MI Cottage on Douglas Lake between Petoskey & Mackinaw City

This newly remodeled cottage on Douglas Lake has all the amenities of home! Sleeps 7 comfortably with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. A fully-stocked kitchen and open concept living room/dining area Includes internet, YouTube tv, air-conditioning on the first floor and newly added on the second floor, ceiling fans in upstairs bedrooms, living room and dining rooms. There is a sunroom with a daybed and extra eating area. The cottage has 50 feet of private water frontage with a private dock.
Centrally located between Petoskey and Mackinaw City offers day trips to numerous locations in northern Michigan or simply stay and relax at the lake. Within 30 minutes of Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City, Cheboygan, Petoskey and Harbor Springs. Close to skiing, golf, snowmobile trails and the U.P.!! Douglas Lake has over 40% frontage owned by University of Michigan, ensuring a quiet setting!! This rental also comes with four kayaks.
We are very excited to share this cottage with you. We purchased the cottage in August 2018 and have updated everything. We feel very blessed with the opportunity to own a cottage on Douglas Lake and are happy to share it with you. We hope that you love northern Michigan as much as we do.

What an awesome lake house! My family and I enjoyed the stay and the view. We were here for a long weekend(for the Mackinac Island Swim).The house was clean and worked out perfectly. I did have to communicate with the owner but she was quick to respond. Will 100% stay here again.

A beautiful house, on a beautiful lake, in a beautiful part of Michigan! My wife, another couple, and I loved it. There is absolutely no room for improvement!

Worked out well for us. Beds were a little hard but overall great place. The mosquitos were bad but that is due to rain.

We had 6 adults that we were staying with at this home. Everything was accommodating for our needs. There was air conditioning downstairs and upstairs which was nice. The beds we slept on were comfortable. I think we turned the tv on 1 time to see if the Packer game was on! We spent our time either in the sunporch or outside. The outside view of the lake is very nice. The kayaks, paddle board, cornhole game were all used during our stay. We had a fire one of the nights but the mosquitoes were bad we didn't last long out there. It would've been awesome being able to take the pontoon out and check the lake out! All in all it was a great time had by all! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

We had a pleasant stay at the cabin. I was glad to have watched the sunrise over the lake the first morning there. Unfortunately due to wildfire smoke and heat we did not get to utilize the outdoors as much as we wanted. My husband did use the kayak which was a great asset to the house. Thankfully there were puzzles and games to keep us entertained indoors. Coffee, tea, cocoa and spices were provided which was great. Although we did not use many, the kitchen was fully stocked with dishes. Checkin and checkout were easy. Host had great communication if there was something needed. Location was great- about a half hour to cheboygan, mackinaw city, and petoskey. Would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Enjoyed spending time at the lake and a great location for a day trip to Mackinac Island or the UP. The house is as advertised - with space to relax inside, on the porch, or on the dock chairs with your morning coffee.

We had a wonderful time at this lake front home for the week. It had all of the accommodations we needed and a relaxing view. Would definitely stay here again!

Cozy cottage

We loved our stay at Douglas Lake. The attention to detail with paper products and toiletries was excellent. We loved the use of the kayaks and paddle board. Quiet and clean! Would highly recommend staying here.

Perfect Stay - A place where you close your eyes and thank God!

We loved our stay here! Perfect place that has a lot of family time fun! Our teen boys enjoyed playing games and kayaks that were provided.

Friends Get away

We were there with dear friends, 3 couples The house is beautiful and has a beautiful lake view. The owner was very helpful. We would definitely return and stay there again.

Truly, home away from home! Clean and comfortable. Easy drive to one of the Ferry boats for Mackinac Island. Exactly has pictured. We loved being able to kayak.

Family Weekend

It was a wonderful stay. The view was beautiful and had lots to keep us occupied. The kitchen made it so easy to cook. The beds were comfortable. We can’t wait to come back.

This was one of the nicest houses we have stayed in thru VRBO. It was very clean, super cute and many amenities/things for us to use during our stay. I would highly recommend this VRBO.

Great lake getaway

The lake house was clean, tidy and just as advertised. The lake is beautiful, and the recently updated home is exceptional. This house is ideal for lazy lake days, and also very convenient to Mackinac Island, Petoskey and even Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes if you are willing to take a bit of a drive. Highly recommended!
