A true log cabin with long range views of the Appalachian Mountains. Tucked in the middle of the woods, high above Helton Creek, this cabin is extremely private and secluded from it all.

This two story cabin has three separate bedrooms, fully stocked with bedding, blankets and all you will need for a restful retreat. The cozy living room is centered around a wood burning fireplace and adjoins a fully stocked kitchen with everything needed to cook. Windows from the living room allow for mountain views from both spaces.

Spend time taking in the views from the front porch rocking chairs or soak in the relaxation from a hot tub under the stars.

Your perfect getaway for hiking, fishing, 4 wheeling and more. You will feel a thousand miles away from it all but are only a short distance from Lansing, and Downtown West Jefferson.

Check out shopping and dining in both downtown West Jefferson and Lansing.

Fly fish in the regularly stocked Helton Creek, well-known for its delayed harvest. Hike the famous Appalachian Trail and take your picture the wild ponies at Grayson Highland State Park.

A Quiet Long Weekend

My third time to the Helton Creek Cabin. It is very clean and well appointed with amazing views of the valley. The property is very quiet with no neighbors and the fireplace makes for cozy evenings. I love this place and will definitrly be back!

Secluded Mountain Oasis

We loved our stay! It was the perfect space to celebrate our second wedding anniversary surrounded by beautiful snow. The cabin was so charming and well suited for all of our needs. Comfy and cozy perfection!

Yearly trip with Grandson

My Grandson wanted time away from busy life and a lot of people. This year he suggested a cabin in the mountains. And, we ended up here. We both loved it! Isolated, peaceful and relaxing. Beautiful views were an added bonus. The weather was not the greatest. The rain and overcast was a bit of a disappointment, but, that made it very easy to kick back and enjoy the cabin, porch and hot tub. And then, a dusting of snow 2 days. We will definitely be going back.

Mountain Trip

Awesome view with great places to relax. Enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit, and sitting on the front porch. We will definitely be staying here again!

Great weekend get-away

We enjoyed staying at this property for a second time. Very secluded, but still a short drive to West Jefferson (to pick out our Christmas tree) and Lansing areas.

Cute and comfortable

Everything was clean, comfortable, and very cozy - perfect for a small gathering with a friend. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking meals, as well as functioning appliances. The beds were comfortable and the linens were in great condition. Would definitely return again!

Perfect Cabin Getaway

This was my husband and I’s second time here and it was even better than our first stay in 2022. Love the surrounding towns and hiking spots. The cabin is so comfortable and perfectly equipped for our small family. The hot tub, views, and wood stove are the cherry on top. We hope to continue visiting each year.

Absolute Heaven

Our best friends from California flew in for a weekend in the NC mountains and this cabin did not disappoint. We spent our days lounging in our pajamas and sitting fireside. Great place to Unwind

Wonderful Getaway

We celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary here at the Helton cabin. Secluded, comfortable and cozy. The cabin was very clean with comfortable linens with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We used the wood burner and appreciated the wood supply and the outdoor fire ring! The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal and the view from the front porch is beautiful! Location is near state parks and the Blue Ridge Parkway and close drive to shops and restaurants. Amy was very responsive to our questions and check in/out couldn't be easier. We will recommend the Helton cabins to our friends and family!

Weekend stay

We had a great weekend getaway. The cabin was one of the most inviting places we’ve stayed in. Very clean, had everything we needed for our stay. The only downside was we couldn’t stay longer.

A wonderful property to relax with nature and the views were amazing. The cabin is now in our top 3 places we have stayed. We are planning to stay there again.

Beautiful cabin with beautiful views

Me and the wife have been taking yearly trips to the areas surrounding Grayson highlands. We have definitely found the best place to stay in the area. The cabin is beautiful and in a very quiet area. The views from the porch and the hot tub are breathe taking. The cabin has everything you could need including great highspeed internet in a area of little to no cell signal. Definitely will be coming back.

Perfect cozy cabin

We had a lovely family weekend in the mountains at this perfectly cozy cabin. It was very quiet and private, with a nice view from the front porch. The fire pit and provided firewood were an added bonus! The beds and linens were very comfortable. Would definitely recommend!

Cool and tranquil stay in comfy cabin

We really needed to cool down and escape the mosquitos of the summer Piedmont and the cabin was the absolutely perfect antidote. Extremely comfortable, well equipped for cooking in, all you need in a tidy package of land perched high on the hillside with distant views across the misty valley in the morning and a glimpse of the sunset through the trees in the summer evening. The porch was our favorite spot for lolling and reading and planning our days hikes and adventures. Mt. Rogers a short drive away and amazing views from Pond mountain gamelands where at 5,000 ft you get 360 degree views across mountains in NC Tennessee and Virginia. Feasted on cheese from West Jefferson, pizza from Pie on the Mountain in Lansing, and took in the delights of art and outdoor stores in the area. Can imagine that this would also be the perfect spot for a snowy getaway too with cosy fireside evenings. The dogs also loved the stay!

Peaceful piece of heaven

Wonderful secluded cabin

It's very private, with an adorable interior, a really functional kitchen, and a great hot tub. It's close to both Lansing, and if you need more items, it's close to West Jefferson. Would highly recommend this stay!

Peaceful and Relaxing

The cabin was absolutely immaculate and had an amazing view from the porch. The absolute perfect place for morning coffee. The nearby town of West Jefferson is very cute and has a lot of great antique shops to explore and small places for a bite or some coffee. I also took advantage of a sxs rental in town and explored all through the hills and river. Amazing place and I would love to come back!
