Our experience with the cabin was amazing! Everything was clean and the hot tub was amazing. We caught several fish out of the creek below the cabin so bring a pole! Communication with the owner was great, quick response when needed. Location was great, 6-8 minute drive to downtown West Jefferson. Beautiful vacation!

The best weekend getaway in the coziest home! It was so clean and had everything we needed!

Thank you for your kind response! Glad you found everything to your liking. Beside the Still Waters is in a pretty location. You can have a great stay without ever leaving the cabin, but town is close by if you want to go exploring! Hope you can come back soon.

This was our first time staying at this property and the pictures do not do it justice. You could spend your entire vacation just hanging out on the back porch. We had one minor issue that the owner tried to handle to the best of their ability and I really appreciated just how concerned they were with us enjoying our time at the cabin.

Beautiful cabin with everything needed available. View was amazing and location was perfect. Only a short drive to West Jefferson! Would definitely choose again.

Such a quaint little cabin. We loved the sound of the running creek especially while just sitting on the porch relaxing. Cabin was private and easy to access and just a short drive to town if we needed anything. Definitely made for a nice getaway.

Great cabin

We enjoyed our stay. The cabin provided everything we needed. Communication with the owner was excellent and he was quick to respond! We spent most of our time on the porch, even ate all our meals there!

The cabin and the area was beautiful. The decor brought the mountains inside! Everything you could need was there. All high quality. Every day we saw more deer in the yard. The last count was eleven. The roads getting to the cabin are ruff. But worth the challenge. West Jefferson is a wonderful little town with good restaurants and fun shops.

Restful and peaceful

We loved the cabin and all the amenities. The sound of the water, the hot tub, decor and serenity. The host were great and quick to respond. A much needed get away. We hope to return soon

This was a perfect cabin for our family’s holiday get away! Even though it was cold and so windy outside, we were toasty and entertained in the cabin. The kitchen was fully stocked with all necessary utensils and appliances. The beds were so comfortable! This place is quite secluded (in a good way) and dicey to navigate at night, so have what you need ahead of time! I wish we had nicer weather so that we could have enjoyed the relaxing porch and the creek below. The owners were responsive and helpful with all of our questions. Would highly recommend for anyone needed a relaxing mountain escape.

Thanks so much for your kind review. Beside the Still Waters definitely gets some winter weather- great for enjoying the snow, winter sports, and pretty scenery. Hope you all are able to come back again next Christmas, or maybe in the spring, summer, or fall- plenty to enjoy each season!

West Jefferson Getaway

Phenomenal cabin!!! Easy to get to Boone or West Jefferson. Lots of deer and other wildlife around the cabin. Our cabin was clean and well maintained. The host was very responsive and kind. The road into the cabin is well maintained and the parking area is big enough for at least three cars. Overall we had a great time and we will be lyfor this cabin on a return trip next year.

Perfection

We were making a quick trip so unfortunately we only stayed one night. We plan to go back soon for at least a week. The location was great and the house was perfect. So much room and comfortable sitting areas. My favorite part was the porch, I just wish we had more time to spend on it. The mountain decor was very inviting. I highly recommend this rental.

Relaxing girls weekend

My two best friends and I, all in our 40s, wanted a quiet weekend away to rest and recharge. This cabin was the perfect space. We each had our own bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen is the perfect space for cooking meals and gathering around the island to eat. We sat on the porch the ENTIRE time we were there, rocking in chairs, laying on the porch swing, talking some but also enjoying the sound of water. The home is clean and had everything we needed. If you are looking for peace and quiet, a place to just relax, this is the place!

Great stay overall. Very comfy beds and plenty of space. House was sanitary however, most surfaces were quite dusty, and the porches were unkept (everything covered in dust/pollen and leaves piled everywhere). We were surprised by this given the propertyis on the market. The landscaper did come while we were there however, he was mowimg and weed trimming at 9am on a Saturday. It was as if the house had been vacant a while prior to our arrival as there was a dismantled christmas tree in the floor of the basement living area. Wouldn't usually complain about this sort of thing however, the cleaning fee for this property is almost 200. Overall would recommend the property just didn't feel the property was prepared for us as it should have been.

We welcome candid reviews- certainly want guests to know what to expect. Just a few observations. The guest first noted the pollen one minute before they left, three days after arriving. The pollen from the pines is heavy this time of year, but we would have asked the maid to go back up and sweep off the newly arrived pollen, if we'd been notified (it was swept and pressure washed right after the guests left, a standard practice). 9 a.m. for taking care of the yard- maybe a little bit on the early side, but the crew does take care of many yards each week- sorry that disturbed your trip. A couple of branches and lights by the hot tub supplies? They weren't even where guests usually go. I don't know. While we aim to please every guest, please consider all of our reviews, when thinking about cleanliness. We pay our maid and weekly hot tub maintenance crew well- more than the guests pay. Appreciate your noting that the house is spacious and comfortable, and that you had a great stay overall.

Cabin

The house is a nice 3 story home. The beds were cozy with clean linens. Has a nice washer and dryer. It is a very secluded property if you want solitude. It is a very steep decent down to small creek access in the back yard. Be prepared to climb back up a steep hill. There is no platform to step into the creek but you can get to it. Not safe for littles. Can’t really travel down creek. Loved the bed swing on the porch. Everyone had to take a turn. Not really sure I liked having to take off my own trash.i did get an email that one of my grandkids was close to a steep driveway. Made me feel like we were being watched.Family liked the hot tub. Outside area could have been a little cleaner.

Beautiful cabin and location. We loved the fire pit, hot tub and the sound of the creek running by. It rained one of our days and the cabin was the perfect place just to relax. Excellent host and could not have had a better vacation.

Property owner was responsive and timely. House was beautiful and well furnished with lovely grounds. Loved the sound of the running creek. Very secluded, which we liked. Lots of wildlife. Saw bunnies and deer. We were well pleased with our stay.

Nice place, quiet, secluded. Place had some quirks, light switches weren't where you expected, stairs from house to fire pit could use a railing and some maintenance. Downstairs bedroom only had overhead lights and nowhere to charge phone near head of bed. But the porch was great. The mountains were great, and the small waterfall you could hear was great. We had one issue, which the owner gave a partial refund and an apology on, the apology meant more than the refund. Think these are good folk. Overall pleased.
