Formerly an old nursery school, La Vieja Escuela (The Old School) has been updated, but still maintains the old charm of yesteryear with up-to-date amenities for today’s world.

Locals call this type of studio a "casita". It's a very intimate setting suited for couples and individuals. Tucked behind the main house and next to another casita is this studio apartment boasting a kitchenette, 20" gas stove, cable TV, Wi-Fi, queen bed and a renovated pool which is shared with other guests.

The kitchen has recently been remodeled, new appliances and mini-split system AC with heat pump.

Very comfortable

Always a nice place to stay. Small but all you need. Beautiful back yard and great to have access to washers and dryers on the property.

Right on bike trail, park along Gulf of Mexico across the street. Nice path from there to downtown. Property well set up. Pool cool tho, for “heated”

Poor Communication with Property Manager

I checked with the property manager prior to booking to get his/her approval for a dog over 20 pounds and he gave his approval. After we departed a day early, he/she said we did not inform them of the pet and charged me with an additional invoice.

Quick Work Trip

Great little property for a quick work trip. The host was very accommodating and responsive, making the stay seamless. The location is fantastic—very close to downtown and convenient for exploring or work. I would stay there again.

Pleasant property

This was a quaint room adjacent a pool that my daughter absolutely loved! It was clean, the property was pristine and had everything we needed for our stay.

Not as expected

Read reviews and thought this would be a comfortable stay. We did not find the bed comfortable at all! Also, there were only 2 bath sized towels for my adult daughter and myself and they were VERY scratchy! We used them out at the pool and then had to use same towels after our showers. The chairs inside were not comfortable - would have been nice to have a chair to sit and read in. Bathroom was very small and the wall plug by sink would not hold a cord. Also, we had trouble parking in front of the property because there was a pile of palms in the road (and another guest in the adjoining cottage). The property is pretty overall and the manager was easy to get a hold of, but we did not find the space comfortable.

Long Term Beach Getaway

We had a really great time in our studio. The neighbourhood was adorable!!! great amenities and we loved the pool. We rented a car to get to the beach (Riviera Beach was beautiful!) but if you don’t have a car it’s a 10-15 min Uber ride away. There may be beaches closer than that. It was our first time trying Cuban food and we found what might be the best restaurant that serves it called Havana. Also recommend Salento for great Colombian coffee. Overall 10/10

Absolutely beautiful!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. It was just as gorgeous as it is advertised online. Very quiet, cute quaint place for a couple retreat. It had all the amenities you could think. It was perfect. close to a small little downtown area for food and shopping. close to peanut island. The owner was attentive. We will definitely be back for another weekend get away.

Absolutely Fabulous

The place was just perfect for me and my dad to grab some sleep before departing for cruise. The host were absolutely amazing. I got turned around and lost and they got me through. It was just great cause I was traveling with my 81 year-old dad and it was late when we got there. The area was very nice. There were people jogging at night and walking their dogs. Plus, it was a very short ride from there to the port would highly recommend and definitely will stay again

Ferny saved the day

I mixed up the dates of our stay and figured it out while we were 5 minutes from the property. Ferny kindly let us transfer the dates so we didn’t have to cancel our vacation! He was responsive and gracious and easy to work with— he saved the day! The property is adorable and we loved the historical Spanish style.
