Unfortunately we don't have trash service in the mountains. We encourage you to take your trash and recycling with you- Directions for dump site is at the cabin



If you leave your trash and recycling at the house, we ask that you tip the housekeeper $5 per bag as a courtesy for disposing of it.



A separate security deposit is required for this property. Please feel free to ask us if you have any questions—we are happy to answer them!

5/5 stars for everything! This was our second time staying here and we loved it. The hosts are so friendly, the house is so beautiful and the view really is breathtaking. We will be back 100% and I recommend this cabin to everyone! Book it and enjoy!

The hosts were wonderful communicators and extremely accommodating with our last-minute needs. We hosted a small rehearsal dinner there, and the bridal party stayed overnight so they could have hair and makeup done before the wedding. The venue, Stonyman Valley Ranch, was only a 4-minute drive away, which made everything so convenient and stress-free. Thank you for helping make the weekend so special!

What a wonderfully unique property this is! Never stayed in a circular house and it was a unique experience. The layout worked for 3 adults and 4 kids and the kitchen was amazingly spacious. The driveway up to the house was a bit challenging the first time, but I quickly learned to back up the driveway from the gravel road. There isn't much to do immediately surrounding the house, which is part of the reason we selected this property to stay in. For most needs, you'll be driving 15 minutes to Luray.The upstairs was very hot when we arrived, but once the air conditioner units were turned on, it quickly cooled down and was quite comfortable. The absence of a TV upstairs was a blessing and there were plenty of puzzles and games to spend quality time together. Loved the opportunity to show the kids what vinyl records are and how a record player works.Having Shenandoah National Park so close was a plus, in addition to Luray Caverns 20 minutes away. Horseback riding and shopping in Luray kept us busy over the weekend.

Great times at the Round House

The Round House was exceptionally charming. There was plenty of space for my family (4 adults, 2 kids), and we loved being in the second floor open space to eat, play games, and hang out with the beautiful view of the mountains through the windows. I honestly wish that we had booked more time there because it was such a great vacation rental!

This location gave me, my wife and newborn the absolute coziest feeling we were hoping for to get out of town for a little while. Host and house manager were very helpful!

Lovely home in the woods

Cool place, nice location if you like hiking and the town.

Peaceful, quiet, felt like a bird sanctuary. Very unique layout. Indoors well maintained. Enjoyed our stay here.

This cabin has three AC units and during extreme periods of heat we recommend guests use all three AC units as well as ceiling fans in each room Thanks for the toilet feedback. Guests should not flush baby wipes, diapers or other large debris in toilet and it will function properly. We will always be working on the upkeep. Thank you for visiting Solitude - Shenrent

Gorgeous house

We stayed for a long weekend and had a great time. The house is beautiful and the atmosphere was stunning. We explored the caverns and did some walking and sightseeing in the area.

Holiday Adventure

The Round House is snuggly with a wonderful wood burning stove on the first level, a round staircase takes you up a level to a panoramic view of the mountains. Kitchen is well-equipped, rooms are comfortable and the deck is perfect for watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee. Location is great for many different trail heads and the hikes were wonderful. We enjoyed our stay!

Fun winter weekend get away

A nice mountain location for views and walks on rural roads, and relaxing with a book or game. A bit dated, but very comfortable for cozy time inside or on the deck. Very close to downtown Luray, and a close enough to Staunton for an easy day trip.

Super relaxing house

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the round house. Close to the national park for hiking and also to the town of Luray (for food shopping and restaurants) as well as the caverns. On the day when it rained we relaxed in the living room with all the windows and was very comfy. Would stay there again!
