A beautiful condo, warm and welcoming and cozy, set in a perfect location. The grounds of the resort are spectacular, I will definitely come back to stay longer!

Easy family ski weekend

We loved staying at Chetola in Blowing Rock. It was so convenient to groceries and easy to get to App Ski mountain for two great days teaching our little girl to ski. The condo was a perfect spot to eat, rest and recharge.

Relaxing getaway!

Nice cozy condo in a beautiful resort. Peaceful and relaxing. Close to downtown Blowing Rock. Enjoyed grabbing appetizers and drinks while listening to music at Timberlake on property.

Peaceful, comfortable, cozy condo

My family had a restorative five nights stay at Balsam one. We love being on the property in the winter time with proximity to all the fun that the mountains have to offer. It’s also great to have the pool at Chetola for the little kids on the days when the weather is not great or people need to recover from a big day on the mountain.This condo has everything that you need.to have a great family vacation.

Balsam 1 - Thanksgiving Week

Property was good, better than most. Liked the mostly private view from the living room and master bedroom. Carpeting was tired. Chetola Christmas lights were magical, and enjoyed driving into the resort at night. However, the swimming pool area leaves much to be desired (can't lap swim, hot tube needed repairs). Restaurant was overpriced, but bar was great.

Great location

Beautiful time of the year. My brother and his wife were in a different condo. Had some problems getting the remotes of the TV’s to work but spectrum came and did some needed updates on the equipment. Beautiful clean condo that could use some updates on the couches and chairs. Otherwise a great place and we hope to return next year

Nice and comfortable.

Nice rental. I gave it 4 stars not 5 because I thought it was quite expensive. I requested a 1 hour early check in and was told that would be an additional $100. Wow. Also would have appreciated more towels, extra blankets, duraflame logs, just those little extras. Also, it was great to have a restaurant on the property, but the food wasn’t good.

We have labor shortages now, especially so in our small mountain community. Our workers need time to clean and perform maintenance tasks between guests and early check-ins are not without challenges! We are happy to provide an early check-in whenever possible to those who are willing to pay a fee to help us address those challenges. Thank you for your feedback. More blankets and towels will be added to the condo. Please contact the office if there are things that are needed. We are very responsive to guest needs.

Properties are getting long in the tooth

Condo was as described. However, the one we stayed in needs some TLC. Light bulbs are out in the kitchen, 5000K (horrible ice white) bulbs are used in the dining area and the entryway. Carpet on the stair is dirty. A/C unit was loud and banged on and off. These are not deal killers, but I will examine the unit much more closely next time. The Chetola property itself is always a pleasure to visit.

Balsam 1

Great location. Condo had good floorpan. Some updating had been done in kitchen appliances and master bath. Good mattress in master BR. On the downside, the unit has the most convoluted TV set up I've ever seen. It was different in every room. Finally had to contact the property manager to unscramble it. The tv in the main living area is way too small for the size of the room. Also, the channel guide posted on the tv cabinet lists some channels that actually aren't available when you attempt to watch them. Oddly, we could find no sink stopper for the kitchen sink and no tupperware type containers. We have rented several condos at Chetola before that were handled through the resort. This was our first through Vrbo. The quality of bathroom wash cloths, towels and toilet tissue was noticeably less in this unit. And, it's the first place we've ever stayed where you have to bring your own kleenex. I don't know whether the owner or the property manager controls these items, but I don't think it's possible to find cheaper toilet tissue than the brand we saw there. This unit has a lot of positives and could be a really nice option with just a little investment in details.

Visit to Blowing Rock

We wanted to come back to Blowing Rock, where we came for our honeymoon 50 years ago, and enjoyed Chetola Resort Property.
