Excellent stay at the Buchanan Layton House. All of the communication from Bert was very responsive and highly informative. The house was better than received and larger than expected. The setting is very private making you feel like you are in a world of your own. We especially liked the under water lights at the end of the dock and watching the tarpon swim by. The available fishing poles, bait freezer, and kayaks were a plus. We highly recommend this property if you are considering it. We hope to return ourselves in the next year.

Great 2 weeks for lobster mini season. Brought our own boat. Wonderful dock and property. Can’t wait to come back!

The Buchanan Layton House is a great place to stay in the Keys. We fished from the dock and caught snapper for dinner. We saw tons of wildlife like loggerhead turtle that were huge, baby nurse sharks, lobsters and even dolphins came by one day to say hi. We went kayaking multiple mornings. Honestly other than an afternoon in Key West and 2 sandbar trips we stayed at the house and enjoyed all it had to offer.Keyscations was on point from checkin to check out!

What an amazing stay we had. The location was perfect and the amenities totally fit what we needed. From the kayaks to the pool, we even rented a boat and used the Dock. We just left and are already planning our next trip!!!

Wonderful property, ran into some issues with the pool but the host promptly remedied. Appreciated the attentive communication and look forward to renting with them again.

Amazing stay at this very comfortable and well-equipped house in the Florida Keys. Communication with management was excellent. Woke up to birds everywhere, saw iguanas, sharks, lobsters, and dolphins. If you are into fishing, this is the place for you - peaceful, beautiful, and full of unforgettable wildlife encounters.

Gorgeous place with many amenities. We loved fishing from the dock, cooking meals together and sitting in the spectacular living room. The view from the master bedroom is like a dream. The other bedrooms were all very comfortable. The only negative was having to ask for basic supplies. The hosts were helpful to drop off some essential items to save us from having to drive many miles for a bar of soap and kitchen garbage bags.

Thank you so much for the kind words, we’re really glad you enjoyed the home, especially the dock fishing, the views from the master, and time spent together in the living space. Just to clarify, we do provide a starter pack of essentials (toilet paper, trash bags, toiletries, etc.), which is outlined in the listing and meant to get guests comfortably settled in upon arrival. For the remainder of the stay, guests typically restock based on their needs. There is also a convenient corner store within walking distance of the home for quick items like these. That said, we’re always happy to help when needed, and we were glad to drop off additional supplies for you. We appreciate you staying with us and hope to host you again!

Fantastic Stay!

Amazing house on the most incredible private property. Own dock with fishing gear a real plus to add to our relaxing experience. Home is large and well kept. Highly recommend this home.
