Private home with a brand new swimming pool! 4 bedroom/ 3 bath duplex rented together as a nightly rental. There are 2 beds/ 2 baths up and 2 beds/ 1 bath down. It is across the street from the beach with a PRIVATE access for our guests.

Enjoy the lovely backyard oasis featuring a private swimming pool. NO DIVING allowed and NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY. The enclosure is surrounded by lush palm trees and tropical plants to bring the island vibe poolside. Two dining tables create space to enjoy meals outdoors. Grill your favorite steak, burgers or your fresh catch of the day.
After a full day on the beach, head back to the house to relax by the swimming pool, get a ping pong tournament going or get a competitive game of corn hole started.

There are so many delicious restaurants in Fernandina. SaltLife and Sandbar are within walking distance. Play a round of putt-putt at the course between the restaurants. Enjoy a snowcone or ice cream on the stroll home.
For your safety, we have exterior cameras at the front and back of the property.

Perfect getaway

Enjoyable stay for a large group. The property was comfortable and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Even though it was cold we were able to use the heated pool. The beach was just a short walk. There were many nice restaurants just a short drive to get to. The host was friendly and highly responsive.

Getaway

The proximity to the beach and view of the ocean is a HUGE win for this property. Open the curtain in the bedroom and the living room and you have a terrific view of the sea. There is a small balcony on which you can sit and enjoy. In the back of the house there is a lovely pool surrounded with nice landscaping and comfy loungers. The beds are quite comfy and the decor is eclectic and fun. There were nice amenities in the small, but sufficient kitchen. Large TVs were great for watching movies in the living room or larger bedroom. The appearance of the home could use a facelift. A bit tired and unkempt, which was deceiving since inside was quite lovely. One update for inside would be to update the floors as they seem to be raising. There was a good bit of noise due to construction next door that soured the relaxing moments by the pool or during the day, but that’s uncontrollable. Any time I reached out with a question we got a friendly, quick response. Helpful, informative and nice. We did have an uninvited guest (pest” that somehow survived the exterminator treatment. We shared Thai info and had a very prompt reply and the issue was addressed. Florida has a fair share of these creepy crawlers, unfortunately.

FOT Nightmare

Listed photos are probably from twenty years ago. The property had roaches. The house next door is under construction and noisy. I would not recommend this duplex to anyone.

Great property and location

The pool, and close proximity to the beach with little view obstruction was a great combo. everything was clean, updated, and well-appointed. having both units each with its own kitchen and fridge was great. communication was easy responsive. location was perfect for quick trips to downtown, Fort Clinch, parks, etc. highly recommended.

Love the location. From porch on 2nd floor, had nice view of ocean even though was not ocean front. Love the beach access which was right across the street. Nice path right to the beach. Pool was immaculate and perfect temp. Definitely will return.

Beautiful Stay

The house was the perfect getaway with amazing views. The host - Amy, was very accommodating and flexible. We had a great time with our family. It was nice having a full kitchen and supplies that every household uses on an everyday basis. The pool was perfect!

Great spot!

We had a great time on Amelia island and the host made us feel like family. Amy made sure everything was perfect with our stay and checked on us to make sure we got in ok. We had a ton of laughs, played Jax and chilled in the pool... Just what we needed... We would love to book this again!

Hotel stay would have been easier

Check in process is nerve racking. Felt like we were trying to “get away” with something. We were coming in for a wedding and were told we could not even have people drop by if they were not on the rental agreement, really created a stressful situation and paranoia. Also, you can hear EVERYTHING from the apartment upstairs at all hours. Insulation is nearly non existent from road noise and upstairs tenants, so just be prepared. Lastly read the details check out is 10am, very early for a VRBO and again just created an extra stress for what should have been a delightful weekend of memories at the beach with family and friends.

Great location.

This place was perfect for a two day vacation with the family. The place had everything you needed, from beach chairs, towels and game accessories. Would definitely stay again.

What a great place!

Amy is an amazing host with such a nice property. My family has stayed here 2 years in a row. It is a nice, clean and cozy place to stay! And its directly across from the beach!

Perfect Getaway Location

Amenities are as described/pictured with many thoughtful touches. Appliances are updated, beds are COMFY, shower water stays hot and the water pressure is strong! Host provides comfortable beach chairs and quality beach towels too. The shore is truly just a couple steps away and there's restaurants, putt putt, snow-cone cart, public park, and a beach shop within a short, comfortable walking distance. Only thing I'd note for drivers, the driveway is STEEP and if your vehicle is low like mine (Altima) you need to turn in via a right hand turn versus a left to avoid scraping. Initially google maps leads you in and has you make a left turn into the property...take a loop and come in the other way and you're good to go. Locals are super friendly and there are dozens of things to do that are just a short drive away. I'm already day-dreaming about returning soon for my next get away!!

Weekend at the beach

We live near the beach in Jax. But we love Fernandina. So in my search I found a cute two bedroom unit right across from the ocean. My wife's birthday was Friday. We had dinner at the Salt (Ritz Carlton). Saturday off to Cumberland Island for the day. Amazing place we love. Excellent Ranger staff. Most wild horses we've seen in years. Just a special place to see local nature at its best. Dinner back at FDB, Arte Pizza. Locally owned with a buch of hand made dishes. Both St Marys and FDB are excellent low stress tourist areas. Saturday night we sat out on the patio and just listened to the sea while watching the moon rise. Sunday, up dash to the beach. We saw a somewhat muted sun rise. We realized we did not really go to the beach, at all. Now we must return Thanks to our host Amy.

Very nice hosts and clean property

We enjoyed our stay at this property. There were plenty of supply, very clean and comfortable beds. The hosts were quick to respond to any pressing needs. You do hear the people staying upstairs and fortunately for us they were pretty quite.

Excellent stay

The residence was really clean. The beach access was very accessible and proved to be easy for our 5 year-old. We loved the beach vibes! The location was in close proximity to a lot of great restaurants. I urge everyone to eat at Artes pizza. Located in town. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect place for anyones beach trip

We were impressed as soon as arrived. It is obvious the owner took time to properly updated the house with good sense of style. Main attraction when searching for a place to rent was proximity to the beach. This house is right across a two lane road from the beach and not too close to any busy public access points, which is a huge plus for me. Full updated kitchen, outside grill, indoor outdoor eating spaces, games and fire pit thing all add to a great setup. This is a two story house comprised of two separate units. The first night no one was in the top unit, which was nice to have outside common areas to ourselves. The second night it was occupied but everyone is happy and nice at the beach! Yes, you can hear folks walking and talking above at night when all is quiet but it didn’t effect our sleep. Owner is very responsive, helpful and nice. Hope to rent this unit again!

The property was as advertised. Excellent location, excellent communication with owner. We biked about 50 miles in 2 days from that location.

We had a great stay at Amy’s place. The property was exceptionally clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. I loved the decor… even better than the pictures. Having the beach across the street was so convenient. We enjoyed being able to use the grill, ping-pong table and corn hole set. Amy was quick to respond when we had questions. We’re already thinking about another visit in October.

Family Vacation

I grew up traveling to Fernandina Beach as a child and fell in love, so naturally it was the beach sweet spot that we always gravitated to for vacation.
We raised our children spending the summers playing in the afternoon tide pools, searching for shark teeth, walking down the beach to play putt putt, and picking out books at the BookLoft downtown to complete summer reading requirements. We have made so many special memories on Amelia Island and we hope that your family and friends will too!

Our dream came true to own a slice of heaven when we made our first Fernandina Beach purchase at 240/ 244 South Fletcher Avenue. This property at 551 South Fletcher Avenue is our 3rd property and it is very special. It is situated across the street from the beach but boasts beautiful views of the ocean from the upstairs deck. Get comfy in the cozy deck chair with a good book or settle in for a good nap!
Our newest feature for this property is a beautiful swimming pool! Two waterfalls are a lovely backdrop spilling over the stone ledger wall.

This lot provided ample room for the pool and plenty of space to gather with friends and family. We allow up to 8 guests (including children) at all times.
