Our Little Cabin, so quiet you can hear birds sing, deer snort and if you want, yourself think! The cabin is located in a meadow/wooded rural setting approximately 8 miles from Philipsburg. The kitchen is well equipped & there is a BBQ. The cupola allows for stargazing from bed, a 1890's wood stove provides warmth and ambiance. Whether fishing, hiking, panning for sapphires or reading a good book, this rustic, cozy, clean 1 room cabin is comfortably furnished for a relaxing stay

The property was so beautiful. We really enjoyed watching the dears and the fox in the morning. The host are so kind and talked with us about the property and some history. I truly loved every moment of my stay. We will definitely be back!

What a great little cabin to get away and recharge

The cabin is wonderful and in a beautiful somewhat remote setting. My cousin and I stayed for four days We are both in our 70’s and loved the simple parts of our stay The wood cook stove made the cabin cozy. Our hosts were friendly and helpful

Idyllic Cozy Cabin with Spectacular Hosts

My husband and son and I had a wonderful stay at Maribeth and Kent's cozy little cabin! We cooked in the kitchen, played board games and records, and thoroughly enjoyed the nature this property has to offer - deer, squirrels, chipmunks, hummingbirds, butterflies and more! Maribeth and Kent were so welcoming and knowledgeable, and we loved meeting them! Everything was perfect!

Great base for sibling road trip

This cozy cabin located in a beautiful location was perfect for our annual sibling road trip. Friendly and interesting host. Chocolates and cold beverages were very welcome after traveling. Fun decorating touches in cabin (and a personalized note from host). Information notebook about cabin and area includes fact that water heater for shower is ten gallons. Gorgeous evening skies as a thunderstorm rolled in. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

As it should be....quiet!

Very nice and peaceful space, all amenities provided, quick trip into town and hiking, just wished there was no cell service for a true off the grid experience..... 👍👍

We loved the quiet tranquil area, the cabin was cozy, not to far from town but far enough to feel like your off the grid. It was a wonderful family getaway and we would stay here again for sure. Our hosts were wonderful and knowledgeable. Thanks for the great stay.

Close to nature

We had a great time and our hosts were very nice. They suggested places for us to visit and we’re so glad we stayed here. If you are looking for a laid back , close to nature get away, this is the perfect spot. We saw the Milky Way every night!

The Cabin

My boyfriend and I came to Montana to hunt for jewels and enjoy the countryside and nature, a much needed vacation. The cabin is amazing with large picture windows and an amazing cupola that is from the 1880s, taken from one of the old buildings in town 😀 The cabin surrounds you with Montana at its best. The Gem Mountain mine was awesome and we saw 2 fox, white tail deer everywhere, and a moose with her teenage calf. The town of Phillipsburg is beautiful and filled with old west architecture that is super cool. We ate at the Silver Mill in town, I odered off the menu with ease, and it was amazing ❤️ I definitely recommend a stay. Great for couples.

Anfitrión: Maribeth & Kent Ellis

Kent and I bought this property almost 20 years ago. We knew that some day we would make this beautiful spot our full time home. 8 years ago, we made the move. For me it was coming home- I was born/raised in Columbia Falls. Kent family also had homesteading roots in Montana, though he is a Colorado native. We have short beautiful summers when we do our best to soak in all the activities and events in we can. We love rodeos (watching!) kayaking, hiking, fishing, our dog and working around the property. Fall is likely our favorite season, warm days and snappy evenings!
Winter - a fact of life here and it is long, so best to embrace it! We dust off the snowshoes, Altai Hoks ( cross between snowshoes and XC skis) downhill skis and the snow blower! The cabin is generally not available during winter months.
