This was our second stay at this property. The hosts are wonderful and the relaxed atmosphere of the area always make our family getaways there relaxing and enjoyable.

Need a quiet, secluded retreat for the family to unwind and spend time laughing, catching up, and playing games?! Then join up like we did at the Lilac Cottage!! It is very well appointed so you need only bring yourselves and food. Wifi worked great for streaming on movie night.

Great getaway weekend!!

House was just as described! Beautiful area and relaxing quiet stay. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get away and unplug for a while.

A beautiful farmhouse in the Virginia countryside

Everything about the Lilac Cottage is accurate and very nice. It is decorated to a high standard and has all the amenities to enjoy some time on the property. A truly quiet and restful stay!

We are so happy with our stay at Lilac Cottage. Amenities covered all of our needs. The home was clean and so comfortable. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the countryside-just what we were looking for. The fire pit was enjoyed by all in the evenings. We absolutely would stay again!

Wonderful Stay in the Country

The property and host were both wonderful. We stayed through the holidays, and loved the cozy, peaceful feeling at the cottage. Great place for private, enjoyable walks around the property, gathering in the front of the firepit, and taking in the bright stars in the night sky. Simple to cook meals in the kitchen, the host supplied nice touches for our stay. Will plan to go back!

Amazing country retreat

This cozy, well decorated and well stocked cottage was such a pleasant surprise. All of the little touches made it extra special. Also, the location! Such a peaceful place full of nature. A great place to make memories to last a lifetime.

Cozy, cute cottage for a relaxing weekend

My husband and I and some of our best friends wanted to catch up with a weekend out of town in beautiful Virginia wine country. The location was great as we could drive to all that we wanted to see in 45 min or less. It was quiet and private and had everything we needed. Breathtaking views of the stars at night and way more than enough room for 4 people to be comfortable. We really enjoyed ourselves and plan to visit again.

Lovely cozy home away from city and noise.

The home was a beauty. Furnished so cozy and comfortable. Loved the seclusion. Kitchen could use a knife set. And a small lamp/night light. Would love to stay here again!

Girlfriend getaway

This was a great place for a group of friends to gather while my partner worked at a wood fire kiln firing. We enjoyed cooking great meals in the nice kitchen, sitting by the firepit, swinging on the porch swings, and exploring the beautiful nearby countryside. The property manager was very responsive and helpful.

We enjoyed very much the open kitchen dining area where we gathered for meals and conversation. It was a rainy weekend so it was nice sitting on the front porch overlooking the twin cedar trees and surrounding forest.

Norwood stay

Loved everything about the place. One of our most comfortable and livable VRBOs. Beautiful views. Quiet. Nice neighbor. The only issue is it is a long way to anything, which is both a positive and negative. But if you're not in a hurry, its great!

Absolutely remarkable

This was by far one of the best places I stayed. The house is a real gem and incredibly cosy, welcoming and stylish. Whoever designed rooms, picked the colours is a true talented designer. On our trip we forgot a bag with toiletries but here they even had toothbrushes with mini toothpastes that were very handy. The kitchen was clean and nice. We even received a bottle of wine as a complimentary from the host. The beds were comfy and the outdoor area with swings were favourites of my kids and grandmother. Thank you for this wonderful experience. I am definitely coming back end of October - beginning of November
