This was our second stay at Mountain Haven (three weeks total) and each time everything was perfect! Great location, great cabin with a wonderful view of the Priest, and very comfortable accommodations. The owners are very responsive to questions or concerns (of which, there were very few) and worked with us to change our dates for the second stay due to my wife having broken her foot. I highly recommend this property!

Wonderful place for family

The house and location was perfect for our visit to spend the weekend visiting family and friends between Nelson county, Madison Heights and Lynchburg.

We loved our stay. The hosts were so responsive and nice. The house is beautiful and even prettier than the photos. It is well appointed and very clean! The property is well situated and the views are lovely! We stayed for three days and visited a winery, a cidery and a brewery. All so close to the house and enjoyed all three. We would love to come back again. Great value for such a great house.Thanks so much!

Aubrey was responsive and helpful. The home was comfortable and spacious with everything we needed. The views were beautiful. We had a great time and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend.

We absolutely loved the property. So many thoughtful details. Easy to get to beautiful nearby hiking trails, winery and into Amherst for dinner. The property manager was very proactive and helpful.

Weekend Getaway

My husband, son, and I very much enjoyed our stay at Mountain Haven. The accommodations were even nicer than the pictures and we saw many deer in the morning and at night right on the property. Amherst is a great little area, we enjoyed hiking and Saunders brothers farm market.

This place is absolutely GORGEOUS! Both the home and the surrounding area. Our elderly puppy had some trouble walking on the smooth floors, but we solved that by moving some rugs around temporarily. This home is really well-equipped! We had everything we needed. The view is incredible! There are LOTS of things to do in the area, and the hosts even keep some info materials about local wineries, breweries, etc. in the home for quick reference. We are definitely staying here again!!

Stunning

The property is beautiful, from the perfectly decorated interior to the magnificent views from the back porch, no detail was over looked. The host was kind and quick to respond. We truly enjoyed our stay! Thank you for such a lovely place for us to land for a wedding weekend!

Better than I could have hoped for.

This place is amazing. The host is the BEST ever. Communication was great and the views and house are Even better in person. This place is on acres of land and beautiful views of the forest and mountains. Sunsets and sunrise are 2nd to none. We will be back to stay here.

Spectacular Cabin

Outstanding property! We cannot say enough wonderful thing about this cabin. Spacious, spotlessly clean, quiet setting with spectacular mountain views! While there are many things to see & do nearby, we stayed pretty close to the cabin to thoroughly enjoy our time there. Did venture out to Piney Railway Trail for a beautiful Thanksgiving Day hike, and to Mill Creek Lake for a bit of fishing. Truly a fabulous vacation!

Wow! This place is awesome!

Host was amazing. Great communication. Property was a 20 out of 10! It looked like a HG TV dream home! Views on views! Waking up to a view of the mountains was breathtaking. This place is truly a gem! Peaceful. It had everything and more. Highly recommend staying here.

Exactly as pictured and close to great hiking and beer

My partner, two dogs, and I had a great stay Mountain Haven Cottage! It's spacious and exactly as pictured. We ventured to Shenandoah National Park to hike Turk Mountain Trail, Blackrock Summit, and Hawksbill Summit. We also hiked the Virginia Blue Ridge Railway Trail that was closer to the Cottage. We loved the beer so much at Blue Mountain Brewery that we didn't make it to any wineries in the area. Instead, we went to Three Notch'd, and Devil's Backbone, all of which had amazing beer and tons of options. Winding down at the end of the day and enjoying the breath taking view from the back of the Cottage was perfect way to relax and recharge for the next day's adventure. The host was just a text away if we needed anything. I know you'll love your stay here as much as we did!

What a magical experience we had. Was perfect for our family and we plan on coming back. The house has extra accommodations over and above. Lots of throw blankets, plenty of towels, bedding and beds were superb. Tons of board games for the kids. Wi-Fi was wonderful. Lots of great memories. We also can't say enough about the view. What a memorable mountain retreat.

This was the perfect place to have our family "reunion" as our roots are Amherst County. The 3 bedrooms and baths worked well for us, and we loved the view from the deck of Mt. Pleasant. Very spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable, and very well designed. In the country but close enough to town with several nice restaurants. We would definately return.
