Spectacular ocean front views! You can't get any closer to the beach than this classic ocean front Cannon Beach home. Absolutely the best location in Cannon Beach. Enjoy the rustic charm of this classic home located on the beach in mid town just steps to many of the great Cannon Beach restaurants, shops, and pubs. Short walk to Haystack Rock and downtown Cannon Beach. Original Knotty Pine and Cedar throughout the home. Recent upgrades include refinished hardwood and new tile flooring, new Pottery Barn furniture, new kitchen and bathroom quartz counter tops, new stainless steel appliances with double oven, new windows, new heaters and electrical, and new siding. Generous space with 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. Ocean front and beach front views from most of the rooms in the house. Enjoy storm watching and sunny days while sitting in front of a crackling fire in the river rock fireplace or in the ocean front sun room. Well equipped kitchen with all the amenities you will need. Huge patio overlooking the beach and ocean for enjoying the spectacular views, relaxing in the sun, barbecues , or people watching. Please note that the master bathroom has a bathtub only with a shower wand for rinsing off and does not have a full stand up shower. It's a little rough around the edges but you won't find a more charming, comfortable, and spacious family home anywhere in Cannon Beach. Sleeping at heaven

It is perfectly located. My dad is 88 and walking on the beach is no longer an option for him, but to be able to sit in the sunroom that overlooks the beach was perfect for him. It's a warm and cozy home with plenty of space for a large family. The kitchen was well stocked; just bring your food.Would be a great location if you had littles as well. The access to the beach being straight out the door

Beautiful spot....that's about all I can say.

Beachfront property! Too bad that the windows were so filthy that you couldn't see out...really. The place was very dirty. The place was very large and cut up into many spaces with light switches that were turning on lights in odd places. Too bad..it has alot of potential.

Great place for large family gathering

Plenty of room for a big group. Wisconsin relatives awed by the superb views. As close to the bea.ch as you can get. Beautiful kitchen very well stocked.

Location is the key but don’t expect fancy

The location is just amazing! It’s quirky house with enough beds for a total of 14. It is not clean (stains on carpets and towels, and dirty couches with smelly throw pillows), and could use some general TLC. It smells VERY musty which seems like a bit of a health risk. Thankfully, the weather allowed for us to have windows and doors open most of the time. There was also a broken fan in the kitchen and broken smoke alarm in hallway. The fridge was clean and there is a full size washer and dryer and utility sink in laundry room. There is also conflicting info on signs and directions on property compared with instructions received online. Positives are lots of games, and well equipped with dishes and a big table for meals. King bed and bathroom plus a single bed upstairs. All other bedrooms and two bathrroms on main floor. One block walk to Sleepy monk coffee and only slightly farther to Macgregor’s whiskey bar. I would give a higher rating if it hadn’t been moldy.

Beach Front

Beautiful Romantic stay. House is more likely booked by families , but we wanted to have direct beach access and views. Enjoyed the fireplace and easy walk to town.

Location

Location and view is fantastic … does need quite of bit of updating if even just little things like new small throw rugs for bathrooms and fireplace and an overall deep cleaning. Layout is a bit funky but creates enough separation of rooms and bathrooms for multiple families to share.

Haystack View

We have friends in Cannon Beach and have been there many times. Our oldest daughter got engaged in front of Haystack. It is their second anniversary so we decided to splurge and rent on the beach. Loved having Haystack right outside the window. The property could use a little TLC but we enjoyed the property. The property manager was very responsive to our needs.

Perfect sunsets and steps to Haystack Rock

Enjoyed this rustic beach house with our adult children and grandchildren for 6 nights /spring break. Plenty of space inside to spread out yet come together around the big kitchen table and sunroom to enjoy the most amazing views Cannon Beach has to offer. If you are looking for a place where your kids can safely be outside while in full view from inside, and to have the best location for evening sunsets , this is the place to make family memories . We too had difficulty shutting and locking the door to the outside patio . Kitchen was well stocked with most every pan and utensil we needed. This is someone’s home , not hotel managed , so we were sure to bring paper towels , TP, paper plates , foil etc.. and were thankful as we would have run out. The home next door is being redone hence the workers started early and worked late. They were all very friendly and the noise was not noticeable most of the time. This may be that we were so enthralled with listening to the waves which made up for a little hammering here and there . Our daughters commented that the photos on VRBO do not do this place justice. They loved sitting drinking coffee in the early ams taking in the view and being toes in the sand in seconds for long beach walks and evening bonfires. I can imagine Haystack House would have something to offer in any season

Great Location

If you want to stay on the beach, you can’t beat this location. Many beachfront locations have dunes in front of them or you have to walk down a bunch of stairs, but at Haystack House you step off the porch onto the sand. It’s right by pelican brewing and an easy 10 minute walk into town. Be warned, it’s not super private. It’s right on a beach access trail so people are walking by all the time. That was t an issue for us, but might be for some people.

Great house in unbeatable location

You can't get any closer to haystack rock from this home. Was great to sit and stare from the sunroom and back patio. The house is showing some age and the cleaning crew could do a better job (dust and dog fur on the floor in places, someone else's socks left). House is walkable to everything in CB

Perfect family retreat

Once inside and seeing the AMAZING views I couldn’t have asked for more. The house accommodated the 6 of us perfectly. Our favorite spot was the sunroom. We were actually on the beach. Haystack Rock in all its glory. My only recommendation is that the front of the house has a little makeover. Pretty drab looking. Construction going on next door. Thank you for a special long weekend for my family to connect 😍

Great Haystack House

This location is great for CBCC if you have a large group going together. R furniture to sit on. Our group plays lot of games and the dining room table was good for us. We had 3 cars and found a close spot for the third car to park. There are a few areas that new maintenances and it was our understanding that they were going to be doing that starting the afternoon we left. This house works great for a large group. You won’t be disappointed! It was apparent that your cleaners do not clean under the sofas. We found stuff that definitely wasn’t from our group. Vitamins and dog food. Definitely not us! We all did say when we arrived how clean the house was. So surface is awesomely clean, but when we dropped something that rolled under the sofa, it was disgusting and I chose not to even continue looking for my stylus top. Thank you 😊

Great Location but

The location was great right on the beach. However, it was hard for me to get over the general dustiness. The property is old and hadn’t been updated, which you can see from the pictures, but it needs a deep cleaning. The home is large with many add-ons over the years, and it’s clear some tubs and rooms are rarely used. We have dust allergies and this home irritated us badly. Also, the back door to the beach is impossible to lock which is concerning because the home’s property is along the public beach access and there are people walking back and forth often. Lastly, the home next yo the property is being totally remodeled so the construction somewhat impeded the view of haystack rock. If you are planning on staying during the week in the next coming months, expect active construction. As I said before, the location is great, loved being right on the beach, but it wasn’t as relaxing as I would have liked.

Older charming home with updated baths and kitchen. The view can’t be beat! The house has everything thing you could possibly need. I can’t say enough fantastic things about the house and view/location! Will be back!!

Our family purchased this wonderful 1940's ocean front home from the original owner in the late 1960's and has now been passed down to the second generation. We purchased it because of of the spectacular location, the incredible views, the generous space needed for a large family, and the unique charm of the house. It is truly a real "Beach House" and not a "poseur" like many of the homes that are now built in Cannon Beach. It will soon be passed down to the the third generation and we hope that it will continue to remain in our family for many years to come.
