Secluded getaway

We loved our stay at Serenity Escape. The homes renovations are incredible and it was perfect for our family of 3 plus 2 dogs. We enjoyed the hot tub very much as well as making fires in the wood stove even though it wasn’t really cold enough for the fires. The only tricky part was letting our dogs out for the bathroom, there really isn’t an area designed for this.

A home away from home!

We celebrated our 15yr marriage anniversary in style at this enchanting short-term rental! The cozy cabin nestled against a backdrop of breathtaking mountain scenery set the perfect romantic tone. The screened-in porch provided a tranquil spot to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. What made our stay even more special was the pet-friendly atmosphere – our dog absolutely loved it! Five stars for an unforgettable getaway that exceeded our expectations. We also enjoy the owners photo album on their journey to remodel their lovely home. It was very touching and inspiring!

Rained Out, But Workable

We looked in the Black Mountain region for a place to relax and launch from. It certainly was isolated and quiet, but not convenient to launch from as it's a minimum 30 minute drive to anywhere. That's our fault for not planning ahead. I just wanted to say that for people doing their research. You can tell the place is a work of love, and the owners have done a good job providing comfort and luxury. The only recommendation I have to them is to add ottomans to the family room, or replace the existing furniture with recliners/a sectional that can recline. When we were rained in most days, it was hard to remain in the family room for long periods of time.

The isolation and quiet atmosphere are intentional features that many of our guests find truly restorative, though we understand the tradeoff in terms of accessibility. We will look into adding more comfortable seating options in the family room to enhance the experience for guests who find themselves spending extended time indoors. Serenity Escape is wonderful.

We were absolutely in bliss at Serenity Escape. The incredible views from the wraparound deck and screened porch, the big hot tub iin a mossy, rhododendron garden, the careful and artful design of the modern cabin- all added up to make this one of our favorite travel stays ever. Inside, the ample kitchen is clean and well-stocked; bedrooms are very comfortable, and the bath/shower is so nice. Everything seems very new, clean, and thoughtfully placed. Further, the tv/entertainment system had superb sound and a great collection of cds and DVDs- no cable but Wi-Fi allows one to connect and stream from computer or phone. The washer and dryer were just fine. AC was super, and we look forward to coming back in another season to enjoy the wood stove! Our host was so quick to answer questions and to please us - just so gracious. Again, the beautiful mountain views were a big surprise/magical at any time of the day; sunsets and sunrises were stunning! Surrounded by treetops and sometimes cloudy mists, the cabin’s setting provides a a cool respite and peace that is indescribable. Well, the road up is windy gravel/dirt and had some potholes; recommend a 4-wheel drive and patience. But, man, is it worth it! A rare jewel in the Appalachian Mountains!
