Escape to our oceanfront home featuring a saltwater tide pool, offering some of the best sunsets along the Kona coast with over 200 ft of oceanfront property. Watch dolphins, surfers, paddlers, and boats while sipping morning coffee or evening cocktails from the oversized lanai, which includes ample seating for dining and lounging. Kids will love the spacious yard for playing.

Excellent location and walkable to local flavor and beaches. The backyard views are stunning with lovely foreground plants, walk up soaking tide pools, and unstoppable sunsets. Well appointed with full kitchen and beach essentials all included. This is a jewel of the big island… your own little slice of paradise! Highly recommend for larger families and friend groups.

It was a beautiful property. Close to Kona and restaurants. It was about 1 km or a 15 minute walk to stores. Parking in the town was expensive , 12 an hour. The house was perfect for 3 couples and another 2 people. it could have been a little cleaner, the outside lights were full of bugs and not very bright. Using the BarBQ was a great asset but could be upgraded, and cleaned. Also as it got dark there was no light to see what we were cooking. The small ocean pound was also wonderful, just needed to check for sea urchins before getting in. The path to the pond could be widened for easier access. There were snorkels chairs and umbrellas hat made the beach experience very affordable. During the stay the toaster was not working and the agent sent over a new one. The house is good but older and the kitchen cupboards are coming off the hinges. THe smoke detector went off many times for no apparent reason. Was very disruptive. I made these recommendations to the host and would expect that these would be fixed for new guests. All in all the sunsets were magnificent and my family would stay there again with these minor adjustments.

Great place

It was wonderful , the house needs some updating but it was a great place to stay . The tide pool and the views were wonderful , if it wasn’t for the tide pool it would have not been that great!

Thank you for your review. The owner is working hard to preserve some of the original parts of the house. This is what inspired him to buy the home and share it with his guests. Yes the tide pool is amazing.

Magical Stay

Hawaii is a magical place and the favorite place for my family and I to visit. Being next to the water for sunsets and sunrises, took our experience to a new level. Recommend this place for a magical time.

Will Definitely Stay Here Again

My family and I had the best stay at this home. We all agreed we will be coming back to stay here! The kids loved having the garden, and we all loved the tide pool! Very spacious. Can’t beat the location or the views.

Kona Escape

The home was perfect for our large family gathering of 8. We had plenty of room to spread out, and the lanai with ocean views was great for gatherings and relaxation. Located a short walk to town, and the property manager was responsive. Great Kona vacation home.

Good place near the center of Kailua Kona on the reef beach

All was good except bedrooms NOT facing the ocean were exposed to a bit of road noise

Perfect for 4 couples

Huge lanai overlooking the water with a dining table for 8. We spent every morning and evening there as well as some late morning and afternoon whale watching and spinner dolphin watching. Kerrie was very responsive and helpful.

Unbelievable Ocean Views!! Adjacent Tidal Pool and Phenomenal Sunsets...

Our family of 7 had the most wonderful stay at this vintage home. The lanai was our "hanging out" location for most of our Thanksgiving stay. The four bedrooms were large enough to accommodate all us comfortably, but the real beauty was the direct ocean view with the adjacent tidal pool. The spectacular sunsets and hearing the crashing waves at night were wonderful!

Absolutely Wonderful Highly recommend it for large families. Plenty of room for privacy and family.

Planning another trip hopefully next year. One little thing, the path into the house is so dark; and as a handicapped person it was very intense to keep my footing. Highly recommend.

Expansive Lanai and Sunsets Galore

Really enjoyed our stay here. Highlight was the expansive lanai with the best sunsets anywhere. Great launch pad to all the activities the Big Island has to offer. It is on Ali'i so it is noisy. It is also in the process of needed updates. But all in all a nice place we would love to return to.

Amazing vacation, great location

This was the perfect house for our vacation with extended family. The setup gave everyone their own space and plenty of area to gather as family. The view is amazing and we all loved our time spent outside on the lanai. The tidepool was an added bonus to go explore. The house was well stocked with all of the amenities we needed and even had all of the things we needed for a day at the beach. It felt like home! Kerrie was a great host and communication was never an issue. We didn't want to leave and would definitely stay there again!

We enjoyed our stay so much, the house was perfect for the family very organized and clean. We were all very comfortable. Kerri was very quick to answer on any questions and accommodated us very much. Much appreciated for everything and we will be back. Recommended this house to two families with Kerri as there guide. Wonderful holiday stay

We had the most lovely stay! The outdoor lanai was phenomenal- we ate every meal there and saw dolphins and whales while sitting there. Our daughters loved the tide pool. House had beach toys our kids enjoyed. The property manager immediately responded to a question we had, and was extremely helpful- truly the best manager we’ve ever worked with. The house is spacious. Took us a minute to realize where the third master was, there’s so much room. Cannot emphasize enough how wonderful the backyard and lanai are.

Lovely views, lots to see, needs attention in the kitchen

4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and A/C, yippee! On the water, spinner dolphins, manta rays, cooling off in the tide pool, Queen Lilli'uokalani canoe races. Didn't like being on the busy street with LOUD motorcycles at all hours. Dirty utensils in the kitchen and cabinets falling apart.

Mahalo for your review. I have addressed the dirty utensils with the cleaning company, and they send their apologizes and said this is unacceptable. The cabinets are original to the house and the owner works constantly to maintain some of the original parts of the house. Overall, we are glad you loved the new AC units throughout the house and the views from the lanai.

Amazing family retreat

The property was perfect for our family visiting from the mainland and for my dad’s 80th birthday party. We were able to have a nice quiet, personal event with a caterer, musician, and entertainer for 17 people. There was more than enough space for everyone in the home at the same time. Kerrie made the experience extra special with the welcome basket filled with local fruits, allowing us to check in early and check out late with ease. Our visitors from the mainland were in awe at how beautiful the grounds were, and the tide pool. Even being on Ali’i Drive it was so quaint and so quiet. We look forward to renting it in the future for more family visits. Mahalo nui

Outside area is the star of this property

Pros:-Outside area. Large and plenty of room. We were a group of 6 and congregated in the evening outside-Can walk to Kona in about 15-20 minutes. Street is busy but a dedicated lane for walking/running/biking-Very large rooms-Washer/dryer-Stocked with shampoo/conditioner/soap/TP/kleenex. -Library with books/air printer was handy as we had a couple pages we needed to printCons:-A bit lacking on plastic bags/napkins for kitchen-Only 1 small TV if you actually want to watch tv. We did not utilize it-Kitchen is tired and in need of an upgrade.

Mahalo for your review. We only provide enough guest supplies to get your vacation started and feel we are very generous since most places do not provide anything. We chose to remove all the TVs since they were not really being used. The kitchen is original to the house and the owner works hard maintain to keep many of the original features of this amazing home.

Extraordinary Home By the Ocean

My family was so thrilled with their stay at this wonderful place that they were looking up availability for next year online as our time there ended. Everything was pretty much perfect. The huge lanai was spacious enough for each person to find their nook for ocean watching and for our family meals. The kitchen was well-equipped. Watching the spectacular sunsets over the ocean from the lanai each evening was a highlight for us. A short path led down to a tidal pool where we saw fish, hermit crabs and a sea slug. Bird were abundant including the Hawaiian Redhead and the Java Sparrow, new ones for me. Their singing made me feel like I was sleeping in a tropical paradise. The three king-sized beds were extremely comfortable and the three bedrooms we used were all on the ocean side so we could hear the surf as we fell asleep each night. High ceilings gave a feeling of spaciousness and ceiling fans in each room kept the house cool; we never turned on the air conditioning. The place is near all the action in Kona-Kailua but far enough away that it was peaceful. Kerrie quickly responded when we had questions and was an excellent hostess. Highly recommended!

Perfect Location close to Downtown Kona, and the VIEWS!!

We recently stayed here (Sept. 4th - 18th). We really enjoyed the close proximity to downtown Kona. My husband and I took frequent morning walks to downtown for coffee/tea. The views from this house are amazing and can not be beat and we enjoyed watching the sunset from the lanai every evening. The tidal pool was a favorite feature; we enjoyed watching the little fish and crabs. Be careful if you go into it as there are sea urchins in the tidal pool, and they are not pleasant if you step on them. Overall, the house is well-equipped in the kitchen, but some of the items could use an update. Having the grill was nice since we tend to grill a lot, but the grill could use an update as well. Having the AC in the bedrooms and main living area was a nice feature, as it was a little warmer than normal during our stay. Everyone said their beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were all nice. The view from the Master shower is really nice if you open both doors. Parking in the driveway can be a little tricky due to the location on Ali'i Drive, but we managed by always back in (we would pull into the parking area across the street and then back straight into the driveway when we had a clearing in traffic.) Overall, the house worked perfectly for us and we really enjoyed our stay.

Incredible sunsets and ocean views

Overall, we had a lovely stay here. The views, along with the grounds out back, are absolutely breathtaking. We witnessed some of the most incredible sunsets sitting right on the lanai. We even enjoyed snorkeling right out back. There was plenty of space for our family of 7 (3 adults and 4 teens/young adults). A lovely welcome basket greeted us when we arrived. Kerrie was helpful, friendly and responsive to our needs. We had a few minor hiccups that she tended to immediately. As listed, the house was built in the 1950s. While this brings with it a lot of charm, it also could benefit from some upgrades, particularly the sliding doors and in the kitchen. The garbage disposal easily clogs (without food particles). The couches in the living room are very worn. Having an option for dining inside would be helpful and/or the addition of a ceiling fan above the table on the lanai. These inconveniences were overlooked when it came to the central location, breaktaking views, and kind and responsive property manager. Mahalo Kerrie! We're already missing those sunsets!!
