Our contemporary house features expansive windows, a hot tub for ultimate relaxation, and eco-friendly perks, including 28 solar panels and an EV charger right in your private garage. Conveniently situated, it's just a short drive to downtown Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the iconic Biltmore House.

Step into the well-appointed kitchen, meticulously designed by Barbara, a former international chef and our co-homeowner. It's a haven for culinary adventures with family and friends, fully stocked with glassware, dishes, and essentials, including complimentary coffee, tea, and fresh fruit.

Upstairs, three bedrooms boast modern design. The master bedroom offers a cozy reading nook, and the other two bedrooms treat you to captivating mountain views. The loft includes a sofa bed and a convenient desk area.

We crafted this haven for your enjoyment in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Rest assured of your privacy, while we're just across the street, ready to assist. For added security, a Ring Doorbell and Camera discreetly monitor the surroundings. Your contentment and safety are our top priorities.

Great house but owner's next door and quite attentive

The house was new and set up very nicely. The owner had clearly put a lot of effort into little details that made for a nice stay (plenty of charger ports by beds, night lights, towel hooks, walking sticks and even news papers for protecting your car from the mud from hikes, nice bird feeders outside the windows, and lots of little amenities that were a nice touch). The beds were comfortable and there was lots of comfortable seating. But the owner's house is next door. This was not mentioned in the listing and had a big impact on our stay - hence the three star rating for what would have been five. My wife was in the hot tub by herself for a bit then came upstairs. Forty-five minutes later she got a text message from the owner that we had left the cover off the hut tub. I get that the owner wants to keep the cover on, but this made the rest of the stay feel pretty awkward because we felt like we were being watched. She didn't want to get back in the hot tub or even use the back deck that faces their house. A lot of the appeal of a cabin is the feeling of seclusion and that illusion was broken knowing someone next door was watching the house.

Awesome VRBO and top notch hosts!

Hurricane Helene had other plans for what was supposed to be a relaxing retirement trip in Asheville. However, we still have nothing but great things to say about the VRBO, and ESPECIALLY about Jim and Barbara. The house is immaculate and they have truly thought of everything you could ever need for a stay. Although we lost power and cell service due to the storm, we were well equipped for a day at the house including flashlights, board games, decks of cards, and a beautiful view from the screened in porch to pass the time. We had several feathered visitors during our stay from tiny hummingbirds to one of the neighborhood turkeys…they kept us well entertained. Jim and Barbara were excellent about communicating from the time of booking. They kept us well informed about the weather before we arrived, throughout the storm, and even once we left. They were so kind and gracious even while facing such a troubling time for both their homes and their beloved city of Asheville. Jim and Barbara even boiled water on their grill so that my aunt could enjoy her morning coffee. When I say that the hospitality was unmatched, it was truly the best VRBO experience I have ever had…even with a hurricane! We have already discussed a return trip to Asheville once the city is able to get back on its feet, and we will without a doubt be staying with Jim and Barbara again. We can’t wait to see Asheville, and the Hillside Hideaway, in its entirety!

Asheville Girls Trip

Asheville Birthday Hideway

We had a wonderful time at the Asheville Hillside Hideaway! The owners were super helpful with the everything including the check-in instructions. Everything was very easy when we arrived at the house. It was immaculate and the owners had anticipated whatever we might need in our home away from home! The home is beautiful, a wonderful place to stay with the deck to enjoy the wonderful weather and the soothing view. We also enjoyed all the birds supported by many feeders. The home is very conveniently located to downtown Asheville and many excellent restaurants. My daughter and her friend joined us for 3 days while we were there. They loved the house and location! This is an exceptional place to stay in the Asheville area.

The family loved it

I want to first acknowledge the host Jim for his amazing Hospitality and quick response for any and all of my questions. The home looks better in person and had everything a family of 5 needed. my wife really enjoyed the screened patio and the kids loved the hot tub. I personal loved how the house felt secluded despite being in a housing neighborhood and being close downtown Asheville.

Highly recommend this fabulous rental!

Fabulous VRBO rental in a quiet neighborhood just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and downtown Asheville. Best stocked rental ever-two robes in every room with great towels, amazing kitchen with everything you need to cook an amazing meal, and so much more. Very comfortable beds, great porches with views, bird feeders attracting colorful goldfinches and hummingbirds, great gas grill for cooking out, and very friendly helpful hosts. We would highly recommend this VRBO to anyone and will be sure to return ourselves.

Wonderful Place!!

This place is just top notch. The home is located in a beautiful setting within the mountains and is located close to downtown Asheville, The Blue Ridge Parkway, local hiking, etc. The detail that Jim and Barabara have put into making this a great place to stay, including the organization, cleanliness, art work, bird feeders, games, tv setup, hot tub, hammocks, etc. is really beyond words. There is a screened in porch that provides beautiful mountain views, and large windows provide great nature viewing from the inside of the house. Jim and Barbara were also very helpful with their local recommendations. Best Vrbo we have ever stayed in, hands down!

Siblings Reunion

All senior citizens, the property was very comfortable for us. We enjoyed breakfast on the screened porch and meals at Rhubarb, Cúrate and bbq. Our one night cooking was produce from the farmers' market and fresh fish on the grill. This kitchen had all the tools for a family who likes to cook and the host accommodates extra needs. I really recommend this site for adult getaways.

Amazing Property!!!!

We would 1000% stay here again if we head to the Asheville area. We were close to everything in town/The Biltmore yet far enough out to feel a real part of nature. We loved watching the birds feed off the feeders and the little squirrels/chipmunks grabbing the leftovers on the ground that the Cardinal would drop. My dad enjoyed his coffee every morning from the screened in porch and I my cup of tea in peace and quiet. You feel like you are perched up in the trees with the loveliest views. The hosts have seriously thought of EVERYTHING you could need when staying away from home. They stocked everything from welcome adult beverages cold in the fridge to coffee to condiments to storage baggies to shampoo to rain ponchos and a cooler in the closet! This is the best stocked rental we have ever stayed in. The beds are super comfy too! We have already recommended it to family in Charlotte when they go visit my cousin who lives in Asheville it was that good. Highly recommend & truly the nicest people to communicate with via text while away from home. Cannot recommend enough!!!!!!!

Amazing Asheville Stay

We loved our stay at this beautiful property! The home had everything we needed and so much more - It is by far the best stocked rental I have ever stayed in. The surrounding property is just gorgeous, and we loved getting to watch the birds every morning, including the neighborhood turkeys! Would happily stay here again on my next visit to Asheville.

Beautiful Home Inside and Out

My son and I could not be happier with our visit to Asheville. The home was perfect! Jim and Barbara’s attention to detail is truly amazing! Five star treatment!! Although we enjoyed our activities in the city the best part of our trip was relaxing, taking in the mountain views, and watching the birds play. Would definitely recommend this property and would love to visit again some day. Thank you!

Excellent Hospitality at Hillside Hideaway

We so enjoyed our stay at this lovely property hosted by Jim and Barbara, who were exceedingly kind and helpful but also respectful of our time. From the point of booking to the end of our stay, they provided excellent communication about the home, the area, and, well, anything you could think of! This is truly the best VRBO experience our family of four has ever had. The property was exceedingly clean and offered gorgeous views! Watching the birds at their feeders was a delight at breakfast and throughout the day. The swings on the porch were heavenly to lounge in. Beds were comfy! Trips to downtown were convenient, and there were many hiking trails and national and state parks nearby. The kitchen is extremely well stocked, and we appreciated all the small touches that made this more of a home away from home than a vacation rental. Jim and Barbara have thought of everything! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

True Mountain Hideaway

This house was an amazing experience—from the motion lighting at your feet to the well-stocked kitchen to the “tushy toilets”!!! The view of the surrounding mountains is perfect—sunrise and sunset. Jim and Barbara are excellent hosts with great recommendations and an open line of communication from start to finish.

Asheville getaway

Traveled for a girls trip and stayed for 3 nights. This is by far the best VRBO we have stayed at in our travel history. Jim and Barbara have thought of everything! We were greeted on arrival and communication with the owner was clear. Very comfortable and clean. So very organized . In a convenient location and so many helpful items. It’s like never leaving home. Environmentally friendly and bidets in all bathrooms! We did enjoy the hot tub in the evenings in the cool December air. It was perfect. Many laughs among friends. Definitely a place to return to in the future. Do not hesitate to book this property!

The views, the neighbors, the experience!

The house overlooked the quiet valley that was colored with fall foliage at the time of our stay. Even the drive up was beautiful into this quiet neighborhood-caution driving at night as there are some sharp turns! The house was extremely well kept with new enough features to give us some Christmas present ideas for how to make a home more homey. The hosts were friendly and helpful during the process of booking, check in, check out and the entirety of our trip- the perfect dose of the neighbor you’ve always wished you had! I highly recommend this house to anyone new to visiting the Asheville area. This is a one of a kind experience that other bookings will not provide!
