The Maui Sunset is located on over 5 acres of oceanfront at Kihei which is considered one of the best locations on the Valley Isle. Kihei is noted for its year-round sunshine, balmy trade winds, and soothing evening air. It is one of the driest and sunniest areas on the entire island, averaging only 10 inches a year! World famous swimming and snorkeling beaches are minutes away at one of the many sandy safe beaches at Kihei and nearby Wailea. Just a short distance (6 miles) from five championship 18-hole resort golf courses at Wailea and Makena. The two buildings frame and protect a large recreational area that is carefully attended and landscaped. The 60-foot swimming pool with its broad decks and abundance of pool furniture invites you to improve on your tan.

Not good at all ,we didn’t sleep at all ! We left to sleep

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We didn’t sleep at all ! We ask the manager to bring And you bed and the maintenance guy went to get, but he said it was too expensive and he didn’t get there. OK we didn’t sleep here in the room and Steve lock the code door and we could not go out and in.This is ridiculous when my wife pregnant and she’s sick because of that we are asking for the all the money back as soon as possible. Also, there is no heavy blanket and the AC shut off every four hours. This is not OK. This is not OK at all.

Love the atmosphere at Maui Sunset

This is the second time we've stayed in Maui Sunset. The first time we were in Building B. We love the atmosphere here at Maui Sunset. We always meet friendly people at the pool. Maui Sunset is more than an appropriate name for this place as the sunsets here are amazing! The condo was very comfortable, recliner, bed, shower, etc. etc. We would stay here again.

No Air Conditioner or elevator

Cons: No AC, 3rd floor unit (no elevator), dirty old carpet in master, tight kitchen, broken tiles in kitchen, and front screen door has no security. Pros: Beautiful view and grounds, close to town (Kona), comfortable bed. We left after first night because it was too hot. Asked for a refund for the remaining time but owner refused. Found a place that was 10x better about 8 miles south for the same price. Don’t waste your time here.

Was given the option to use another open unit’s dryer when we asked. Thought we did not know how to start it - but it was broken.

Amazing view

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our condo was very nice. Bed was comfortable . Kitchen had everything that we needed. The view from the condo was amazing! The pool and grounds of the resort were kept up great. We took a walk on the beach daily and really liked that the beach area was not overly crowded. We could always find a spot to just hang out by the water during the day and in the evenings to enjoy the sunset. It was our first time to Maui and we had a great time.

Great Location and Nice Condo

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Condo was near lots of amenities like grocery stores, restaurants. It was an easy drive to other parts of Maui for activities. Unit was well appointed with a fantastic view of the grounds and the ocean. We really enjoyed our morning coffee on the lanai looking out at the view and hearing the birds. Air conditioning was on the older side and noisy in the main bedroom. Condo maintenance came very promptly to fix a small issue, really good customer service throughout the facility.

Not worth the high price

The whole condo had some kind of strong weird smell. Property manager came to inspect but couldn’t find anything and we ended up removing most of the carpets from the condo but it didn’t help. There were tiny ant like bugs in the kitchen area. Condo is renovated but still has some old furniture, the whole complex seems very old. Didn’t expect this for the amount we paid for our stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nicely refurbished unit. AC units getting old and noisy, but tolerable. Extra utensils and condiments made it easier to cook. Boogie board and chairs available in unit. Minimal info on checkin, but adequate if you are experienced with the area. Nice grounds on the water and long beach for walking. North unit sun exposed (A building), South building B would be preferred if avoiding heat and too much sun. Good for family and to be close to beach and parks.
