Stunning at every angle!

I’ve never stayed in a spot and felt more at home with the decor and surroundings than at Head of Bay. The view from every window is lovely - the water, the gardens, the woods…the beds were comfy, house super well stocked. Seriously, I could see myself living here. The shops, galleries and restaurants in town were perfect. Small town feel but not sleepy. Just lovely, lovely, lovely!

A delightful place, easily accessible and yet, entirely private. A lovely deck overlooking the bay with a gentle sloping yard down to the water - again, easily accessible. Peaceful, quite, located minutes from the lovely town of Rockland and within 15 minutes of Rockport and Camden. The house was as pictured and as promised. There were four of us (my wife and myself and my brother and his wife) and it was entirely spacious. There was a very nice 3rd BR that we did not use. What a view!

Water views fill this beautiful, light and air-filled home. The nice weather during Labor Day week was a great time to access low tide with our dog - head off the wonderful deck and walk down just past the back lawn. We loved the style of the home, white with beams and wooden planks throughout, no carpet, yay. Comfortable beds, super clean, tons of towels etc. A great home base to discover art, lighthouses, lobster dishes, Rockport, Camden, Monhegan island, and in-town Rockland, which had Friday art walk, Farnsworth, and some great dining, loved Claws for lobster, Primo for dining and live music, and In Good Company was our favorite. As others mentioned, the street noise can be loud, but the honking of the geese was a good balance :)

The house was VERY nice and clean had everything you would need. We could sit on deck see Rockland break water and sailboats! The owner Jen was easy to get ahold of and answered all questions! The manager Ann was delightful also answered all questions! We had lobster one night from Bert across the street and Ann came over to get trash so it wouldn’t smell! It was a wonderful week! The house w had plenty of room…

New Favorite Place

This is our 2nd year renting at this beautiful location. We love everything about it-especially walking when the tide is out. It is peaceful and relaxing. And we can bring our lab who loves to swim. We will return again next year!

Great beach exploring

We had a great time exploring the beach at low tide. Playing catch with three little girls and a dog, lots of outdoor space for them to play. Beautiful clean house with everything you could need. The best place to walk the shore and collect sea glass! You even have ping pong in the basement. Close to many hiking areas, light houses, museums , antique shops, lots of activities and private shoreline. Very friendly and easy to reach. I would recommend this house for your vacation

Superb!

As soon as I saw the photos of this special place, I began daydreaming about our summer week in Maine. The experience was just as lovely as I imagined it would be. Jennifer was an amazing host, and her communication was quick and friendly. We loved the serene palette and simple comfort of this lovely cottage. The Vrbo images are completely accurate, and there is plenty of open space and a cozy couch for lounging and reading. We played cribbage on the deck and had a fabulous lobster dinner on the harvest table in the kitchen. Though it is near the main road to Rockland, the property sits slightly lower and feels private and quiet. Our daughters scanned the tidal flats for sea glass while the tide was out, and when the tide was in, we paddleboarded and kayaked around the cove. The proximity to Rockland, Port Clyde, and Camden was convenient for outings and scrumptious meals. Thanks again, Jen! I am already looking forward to next year!

Wonderful experience for the whole family!

Maybe the best thing about our stay is that the house exceeded all expectations. It really looked just like the pictures! It is bright and cheerful, with lots of light. The family room/kitchen is large and well equipped. The deck has great furniture and we were able to enjoy eating outside. The large yard is beautifully maintained and was perfect for flying kites. The view of the sun coming up was perfect for the early risers in our family. We were all able to sit together and watch the Opening Ceremonies of the 2024 Olympics. Collecting shells when the tide was out was a great experience for the kids. The kitchen is well equipped with all new appliances. This place is pretty, comfortable, spacious, well equipped, convenient to lots of activities, We had the best time and will try to come back when we can get the whole family together again. Jen is very responsive - quick to answer any questions.

Great house and location!!!

The title says it all. We were close to everything… grocery stores, seafood markets, restaurants, shopping, beaches, hiking and walking trails, lighthouses, museums. We met Bert, the neighbor across the street who sells fresh lobsters. Jen, the owner, was welcoming and attentive, and Ann, who cares for the property, took great care of us. The house was beautiful! The view is amazing! We could see the Breakwater Lighthouse from the porch. We waded in the bay during high tide, and walked out as far as we could during low tide. I highly recommend this property!!!

Airy, clean, and modern with gorgeous ocean view

Airy, clean & modern with lovely vintage decor touches throughout. Beautiful ocean views. Some street noise can be heard but the peaceful and private, nicely landscaped back lawn, large deck, really nice deck furniture & ocean views more than make up for that. A gem we’d love to come back to next summer. 10/10

Perfect Mid-Coast Stay

This house is just an absolute perfect location for exploring the Rockland area. We stayed three weeks and the house never felt small or uncomfortable. The yard was wonderful for the kiddos, and we loved the couch and the views of the Rockland light. We would absolutely go back!

Peaceful paradise

We have been staying in the mid coast Maine area for vacation over the last decade and our family agreed that this house in Owl’s Head was the best of all. Every detail has been considered for guests and the house is light-filled, immaculate and comfortable. The location is perfect- we saw so much wildlife, kayaked every day, and had fantastic meals just down the road in Rockland (Ada’s is our favorite). Jen is a very responsive and accommodating host. Can we give it 10 stars??

Beautiful home on the waters edge

We loved our stay! Right on the water and close enough to a hopping town. Highly recommend them and Jen was a great host. We'll be looking to book next year very soon.

Lovely Home on the Bay

The home was a nice blend of an old Maine cottage and a modern home. The deck has spectacular views of Rockland Harbor and the Breakwater and very comfy seating. It is close to downtown Rockland but still far enough away that you know you are in coastal Maine. We brought our kayaks and launched each day from the small beach on property near high tide. The cottage itself has a lovely downstairs open floor plan space with al the modern home amenities of cable, big screen TV, appliances, sectional couch and large dining room table. Lovely spot, lovely host and nice manager who was very helpful.

Beautiful, relaxing stay in Owl's Head

We absolutely loved this house and it's incredible view, with access to a small pebbly beach. The house was great, with a well-equipped kitchen and fast wifi and a nice big table where the whole family could eat and play games comfortably. The property was well maintained, and Jennifer was really responsive to any issues that came up. We hope to be back soon!

A week in Maine

This was our first trip to this part of the US and we certainly weren’t disappointed! Great and very well equipped house in a great location with easy access to local amenities and all that coastal Maine has to offer. Very much enjoyed the outdoor space and access to the shore. Would definitely recommend and hope to return some day soon!

Peace & Quiet

Beautiful property and home that is very private. We brought our labs, which is always a bonus. They swam every day right in the backyard. The view is gorgeous and during low tide you can walk for at least 1/2 mile out to the ocean. House was clean and had everything we needed, many towels, beach chairs, kitchen was stocked, and grill and outside deck were awesome. Downtown Rockland is minutes away with shops and great restaurants. We absolutely loved it and plan on returning next summer!

Bright & airy & fun!

Our family vacation of 6 adults and 2 small dogs was pretty perfect in this fabulous house. We rented some kayaks and took off paddling from our own yard. Very handy launch site! The house is loaded with windows, high ceilings and ceiling fans. The dining table holds lots of people and great for spreading out with games and food feasts. The kitchen was large and well stocked with essentials. Multiple cooks able to work together. The linens were abundant. The bedrooms were great. The main bedroom with comfy king bed was on the 2nd floor with full bath, and catwalk to a private balcony overlooking the water. Nice! (BTY the most comfortable sheets I've ever experienced in my life!) The other 2 bedrooms were on the main floor. The grounds were well kept with flowers in abundance and expansive lawn. We recorded about 30 different types of birds! There was a cute red fox spotted from time to time. Many bald eagles circling and diving in front of us. Great outdoor furniture on the deck. Table for 6, large umbrella, a loveseat size "sofa" and 2 easy chairs. Plus small gas grille. We spent most of our time on nice days out on that deck, from morning coffee to dusk. The host left a kind note with phone number in case we needed anything. We didn't! This location gets an A- to a B+ grade due to proximity to a busyish road with occasional traffic noise. But, that was also part of the draw... close to Rockland stores, supermarkets, etc., instead of being further down the peninsula.

Beautiful home with amazing views !

This was an absolutely beautiful property! The views were stunning, and was very close to town. The town had amazing restaurants and shops to enjoy. The check in process was easy and the owner was very responsive. Would definitely recommend this to anyone!

Very. nice stay

My family and I enjoyed a very nice stay at this property. It was clean, bright and spacious. Everyone was comfortable. I really liked having the large sectional sofa so we could all sit together in the evenings. The beds were also comfortable which was great. We also enjoyed the water view from the deck and my daughter enjoyed looking for shells and sea glass. My only suggestion would be to secure the dishwasher because it was tricky to get running but it was a minor issue.

Bay views

The house is kept clean and neat. The view from the back porches, upper and lower, is fantastic. Nice ocean breezes, water views and plenty of water fowl. We saw herons, bald eagle, ducks and geese. The "beach", or bay bottom, is rocky and walkable at low tide. Easy access to Rockland (mile away), Camden (20 minutes) and Thomaston. The house has 2 full baths, one with a shower and one with a tub, and 3 nice size bedrooms with plenty of closet space. The shower is downstairs. The kitchen is well stocked and there is a gas grill on the back porch.

Highly recommend

We had a very relaxing time in this spacious home on the coast. It is obvious the owner and the property manager care about their guests. We had two minor issues with the internet which were both resolved very quickly. This home is clean and very well stocked with dishes starter spices and a nice grill on the deck! There was even a tablecloth on the table on the spacious deck! So many fun activities less than 10-20 minutes away too! Many thanks!

Beautiful peaceful getaway.

This location was fabulous. Jen is a super host available to answer question and provide assistance. The property has everything you could need to feel like you are at a home away from home. The house was clean and orderly. The kitchen had every utensil, pot, and baking dish you could possible need. The bathrooms were full stocked with cleaning supplies, towels, and soap. The property was so nice. We were away from crowds and the view was the private beach was great. You could definitely do some bird watching as well. This was a relaxing and fun experience for all of my friends.
