Quintessential lake front cabin in private setting on beautiful Lake James N.C.. This is a beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home with outstanding views and water access to N.C.’s most beautiful lake. The house is located on a delightful , private natural wooded lot, allowing guests to enjoy the property and its amenities with no disturbances. Down several steps with landings to the lake you can find a large private dock with two boat slips, a jet ski dock, and a small screened-in bunk house on shore for sleeping or hanging out. Four kayaks are included, water basketball goal, and dining area on the dock! The property was a family home recently updated and now available for vacation rental! The house has high speed internet for your convenience. Lake house has updated kitchen, open floor plan in upper living area with fireplace. Master bedroom with private water closet on main floor with fireplace and TV. Deck with comfortable gliders, fire table and a small bar to enjoy the awesome views and sunsets! There is also a brand new Blackstone grill on the deck available for use by renters to cook anything! Downstairs has two bedrooms with TV’S (one queen, two twins), a full bathroom, and an extra shower for coming off the lake. There is also a central living area with TV, video games, board games and wood stove for those cold nights. Screen porch with TV, outdoor shuffleboard table and outdoor seating area. Wonderful neighborhood to walk around the loop and enjoy the views. One of the closer subdivisions on Lake James with easy access to I-40 (8 minutes) and to easy access to get to Morganton & Marion (15 minutes), or Asheville (45 minutes) for great shopping and restaurants. This wonderful home is close to Lake James State Park and beach, Fonta Flora biking and hiking trails, and Fonta Flora brewery, two public golf courses. These are all within 10-15 minutes of the cabin. Pontoon rentals are available at the local marina which is 5 minutes away from the home. The rental does come with water mat, canoe, kayaks, and various life jackets. Our family has lived on the lake for 25 years and would love to share this property with you! Lovely lake house

We fell in love with this lake house. It was the perfect place for our family to enjoy Lake James and the surrounding areas. The accommodations were amazing and the amenities were well thought out. We rented a pontoon boat for the week which added to our enjoyment of the lake. We would highly recommend this home.

A wonderful home!

The home is wonderful!! The property is beautiful, clean and well appointed. Our family loved staying here. There are kayaks, a canoe and paddle boards. We had great time and hope to return in the future!

Beautiful home and great location!

The homeowner was very helpful at every step. The house is exactly what you think of when you think "lake house." The furniture was inviting and the house well decorated. The beds were also very comfortable. Kayaks, canoes, paddle board. It had it all!

Property was excellent all around. Great weather week, lake was perfect. However, suggest listing be updated to indicate that there are 90 steps from house to water.

Great getaway!

Lake James is beautiful and the house was great. We cook a lot and the kitchen was well equipped. We spent much of our time on the deck or down by the water. Great week!

Paradise on Lake James

We loved our stay! The house was well decorated and stocked with what we needed. The views were spectacular! We kayaked and hiked at local parks as well as venturing out to other places to hike as well. Fall is gorgeous there! Our only complaint was that we did not stay longer. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home!

Very nicely updated house with gorgeous view

This house attracted my with a reasonable price range and ability to stay for a weekend only. It was a nicely updated, older house, with everything you need on hand. It was clean, had all the necessities and was supplied with linens and towels. The best and most thoughtful thing was that the owners left cofee for guests. We arrived late and forgot our own. It was the best surprise you can imagine. The house was prepared for guests and smelled nicely. The outdoor area was amazing. The garden stairs looked magically with outdoor lighting. I wish we could spend more time at the lake. The fact this house is in a cove makes this place quiet from the water traffic noise. I definitely recommend this place. The only thing that could work better was the internet.

Great Lake house

We were really pleased with this property! Very clean, lots of space to spread out and really nice beds and furniture. For us, the very best part was the lake. Although there are a large number of steps to get down to the lake, there are railings and sturdy steps the whole way down. There are also 3 spots to rest on a bench if you need it on the way back up! The dock is in a not crowded and quiet cove with views to the mountains. We kayaked with the provided boats and had so much fun with the water mat and other floats. During our stay in late August there was always shade somewhere on the dock. The screened in porch up at the house is comfy and we ate all of our dinners down there with a view of the lake. The upper deck is great too! It’s been a long time since we have stayed in a vacation rental that is this lovely. Also-communication with the hosts was super easy with quick responses. We highly recommend renting here!

Beautiful, relaxing home with amazing view

Our family of 3 adults had an amazing stay at this beautiful lake home. Unique layout makes it feel spacious yet cozy. Room to spread out. Excellent communication with owners. They were available when we had questions. Very quiet and peaceful area. We can tell a lot of thought went into planning this home. Kitchen had everything needed and then some to prepare our meals. The outdoor spaces are just as great. Loved the deck and screen porch and bunkhouse for afternoon naps. The dock offers more views and lots of fun. We had a great time using the kayaks and floating mat. We hope to return again soon. Definitely one of our favorite VRBO rentals yet. Thanks Steve & Jenny!

Our family has called Lake James home since 1999. We have raised our 5
Children on the lake and love everything the area has to offer. The cabin was my parents a few coves over and we have chosen to keep it in the family and allow others to enjoy the beauty of Lake James and the surrounding mountains. We love biking Fonta flora trail, hiking shordoff mountain and hanging out at the local brewery when we’re not enjoying the water. Morganton is nearby and Asheville is 45 minutes west. One great thing about the location of the house is that it’s on the SE shore which makes it very accessible to I-40. It only takes approximately 8 minutes to get to the house once you get off on exit 94. Many rental homes are 20 minutes plus once you get off the expressway. This makes our home more accessible for day trips to Asheville, Boone, or Hickory for shopping or dining.

The cabin is in one of the original subdivisions on the lake and is very private. The home has been recently updated and has wonderful views both from the deck and from the expansive dock that has two slips for parking boats, a jet ski dock and a bunkee house on the shoreline that has a screen porch that has two twin mattresses if any family members want to sleep near the water! Their are gradual steps to the lake with several landings and benches to sit down as needed. There is a screened porch which offers shade on those hot days. It’s has an outdoor dining table, shuffleboard, and an outdoor TV!

Privacy and convenience are so important to our family. The house is on the cleanest part of the lake (linville side) in a large cove with no wave traffic. The holiday shores neighborhood is a loop…so.a great place to take a walk or run with no massive hills!
