I stayed in the bedroom at the far end of the lower floor and I am covered with flea bites. The other downstairs bedroom smells moldy.Everything else was fine but I will not again stay in a place that advertises “pet friendly”

This stay was horrible!! This was the worst rental I have ever stayed at! There was a strong odor throughout the house and the master smelled of cat urine!!! If I didn’t have 6 of us staying the I would have just left and went to a hotel!! The pictures online must have been taken 10 years ago as they looked nothing like the actual house!! The bedding was horrible and the beds hard!! I would seriously suggest a thorough update and investigate where the horrible smell was coming from before ever renting it to any other travelers!! And I’m pretty sure there was black mold in the rental.

Weekend on the river

Came to stay with two other couples and the house was just what we wanted, right next door to the rafting company. Plenty of space for six people in the house. Its a cool little house but could use some cleaning inside and out. Landscaping is overgrown, the porch and deck need to be pressure washed, and there was mouse poop on the kitchen counter and fridge top, etc. Overall a good stay though, would come back.

Weekend Stay

We came to town to visit family and celebrate a birthday. The raft served our needs perfectly. The host is very responsive. The home itself is an older home that has been restored nicely and is very clean. We would definitely recommend and also stay again if we need a place in the area in the future.

Great location

We enjoyed a happy thanksgiving weekend with family. Weather was a little cold, but heat was working in the cabin. Only downside was the second first floor bedroom, it was at least 10 degrees colder than the rest of the place. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. A few lightbulbs needed to be changed, but I found them in the kitchen drawer and we were back in business in no time. Getting the TV to work was a little bit of a challenge. We would stay here again if in town. Very convenient to the quaint neighborhood of Dillsboro. Probably a lot more to do in the warm weather.

Family Weekend

We came to visit with our niece at Western Carolina. We loved the property! Perfect for our family to hang out and spend time together. We brought along our furry family member Penny and it was perfect for her too! Can't wait to visit again in warmer weather to take advantage of the river!

Decent house, but some minor issues that take away from the experience.

House was good overall for our needs. Few minor complaints/issues: 1) Traffic Noise is loud and constant with dump trucks traveling the road beneath the house 2) Some bugs were found inside, so the place could use a visit from pest control, especially the red mites out on the deck that kept us from using the outside seating 3) Limbs around the deck and house could use a trim to make the area more usable 4) With only streaming service, internet went out a few evenings and didn't come back until the next day. Would be nice if there were more kid friendly dvds available for these times.

Fun on the Tuck!

Lots of space for a small home and easy check in. This is a great location if you love the laid back atmosphere of NC. Also if you want to enjoy the Tuckasegee River. Be advised if you have allergies this house is an old house and has many things that can cause allergic reactions.

Overcame challenges

We had a lovely time at Shenanigans River House celebrating one of our twin daughters graduate from WCU as a DPT. Lovely morning walks down front street Dillsboro, quick visits up to Sylva. Only recommend giving better directions on TV set up, emailed the office and they had Chad out quickly. Issue w/ smoke detector and battery died so had a beep, again responded quickly and replaced it. Water went out during a storm as on a shared well but again they quickly found the problem and got us back up. We will be back!!!

The house was the perfect size for our family and in a great location. We enjoyed the fire pit and the rafting place across the street opened up just for us to go down the river.

Wedding

Outside is overgrown and moldy. Beds are comfortable. Water temperature was good. Supplies were good. Proximity to activities was good. Property is not overly dog friendly; no fenced in yard or deck. Nowhere to walk our dog due to the home location near busy roads.

5 Excellent!

Great location! Walking distance to the river for tubing and fishing. Turn the teenagers loose !!! The cabin has an excellent view of the river , with several viewing points and a fire pit to enjoy the s'mores after hotdogs . It was very clean and excellent decorating! This cabin had more accessories than what we had anticipated, including toiletries, high quality linens, and spices.! Exceeded our expectations and give it the highest recommendation. Will definitely book it again.!!!

Move in weekend WCU

We didn't arrive until 7pm and we had a small issue. No one from the property management company called us back until 10 am the next day. This isn't necessarily bad, just our first time staying at a property managed this way. The exterior needing a good washing and was generally overgrown but the inside was very clean. We definitely took advantage of the river sports located right in front of the property.

Thanks for a great stay

We enjoyed staying at this VRBO. It was great to be able to look out the windows and see the river. Dillsboro was fun with nice restaurants and a brewery. The house was cozy and had most everything we needed. Check in/check out was simple with clear instructions.
