This place was awesome! RIGHT in the heart of it, across from the palace. Very clean (didn't see even 1 bug, and I was concerned about that given some of the reviews). Has all the kitchen and other necessities and great stuff for kids i.e. there was a boogie board, snorkel stuff, kids wagon...Not sure if these are all always there, but they were with our stay). Hightly Recommend!

Nice property in a convenient location, especially if you’re visiting for the Ironman race. Unfortunately, the property itself could use some attention. The building is showing signs of wear, and the parking area has multiple sections of scaffolding. The outdoor parking lot’s concrete is also heavily flaking and presents a tripping hazard.The unit was clean but somewhat dated, particularly the kitchen. The dishwasher couldn’t open fully without hitting the stove, and the bottom panel kept falling off.One major frustration was the in-unit laundry. Don’t count on being able to dry your clothes. Even after running the dryer for three hours, our clothes were still damp. When we contacted the rental company, we were told, “That’s just how it works.”The balcony was also disappointing. It’s extremely narrow, with barely enough room to stand or sit sideways in a chair, so don’t expect to spend much time enjoying it.Overall, the location is a definite plus, and the unit was clean, but the maintenance issues and dated amenities detracted from the experience.

We understand your concerns regarding the building's condition and ongoing exterior work. These areas are maintained by the condominium association and are unfortunately outside our direct control. We appreciate your patience while improvements are underway. Regarding the laundry, the unit is equipped with a **ventless dryer**, which operates differently from a traditional vented dryer and generally requires longer drying cycles. We apologize if this was not adequately explained during your stay and understand how frustrating that experience must have been. We will also review the dryer's performance to ensure it is functioning properly. We appreciate you bringing the dishwasher and other maintenance concerns to our attention, and we'll follow up on those items with our team. While the lanai's dimensions are part of the condo's original design, we understand that the limited space may not meet everyone's expectations. Thank you again for staying with us and providing your feedback. We hope you enjoyed your time in Kona and would welcome the opportunity to host you again in the future! Mahalo, Knutson & Associates

Our Epic Christmas Trip to Hawaii

We enjoyed our stay in Kona at the Kona Plaza condominium. We loved how clean it was. We loved that it slept six people very nicely. We enjoyed being able to walk down to the beach and the shops just a short five minutes away. It was a very convenient and comfortable place to stay.

Nice apartment downtown Kona. Clean.Ideally a bit more cutlery, ceramic bowls and a baking dish would have been nice.The regulations of the property threatening hanging out of towels with 100 fine are questionable when one does see the oldish look of the building.

Regarding the towel policy, this is actually a fire and building safety regulation enforced by the property’s management and local code, as hanging items over railings can pose fire safety and structural risks. While we understand it may seem strict, it’s in place to help protect all residents and guests in the complex. Great stay!

Location was excellent - close walk to the main shops and restaurants. Inside was clean and comfortable with plenty of space for the 7 of us! Loved that there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms along with washer and dryer. Air conditioning worked perfectly. Appliances and various supplies was well appreciated. Thank you so much! We will absolutely book again next time we’re on the island!
