The Space:
Welcome to Bison Acres, located at 153 S Pioneer Road in Beulah, Michigan. This Northern Michigan retreat is ideally situated just minutes from Crystal Mountain Ski Resort, Lake Michigan, St. Ambrose Cellars, and Downtown Beulah. Set on nine private acres, the property offers year-round lodging for up to fifteen guests across two unique spaces: the main log cabin, known as The Cabin, and the bunkhouse above the garage, known as The Shed. During the winter months, Bison Acres is a perfect home base for snowy adventures, offering easy access to downhill skiing, cross-country trails, and snowmobiling, all followed by cozy evenings in front of the fire or a relaxing soak in the outdoor hot tub.
The Cabin features beautiful wood finishes and an open floor plan. The main-level master bedroom includes a king bed, large closet, and spacious bathroom. The living area offers a gas fireplace, a smart TV, and a sleeper sofa, along with a full kitchen, dining area, and washer and dryer. The upstairs loft sleeps four and includes a pack-n-play crib for young children. The Shed is a large open bunkhouse above the garage, updated for comfort and able to sleep seven guests. It includes a queen pull-out sofa, a second smart TV, a selection of games, and a three-quarter bathroom located off the mudroom on the main level. Heating is provided by an electric fireplace, an EdenPure heater, and two mini-splits, which also offer air conditioning. Both The Cabin and The Shed also have window unit air conditioners for summer use.
Bison Acres is perfectly located for winter recreation. Guests are only 15 minutes from Crystal Mountain, where skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing are top attractions. The Betsie Valley Trail, with miles of scenic cross-country skiing and fat-tire biking routes, is a short drive away. Snowmobile trails connect easily from the property, making it convenient to ride right into Benzie County’s network of trails. After a day outdoors, guests can return to the hot tub, enjoy a movie night on one of the smart TVs, or gather for board games in The Shed.
Additional conveniences include lawn games, a beach umbrella, extra fans, and a grill stored in the garage, as well as firewood available for purchase on-site via a local vendor’s cashbox. There is ample space for boats, trailers, ATVs, snowmobiles, and RVs, though hookups are not available. Small events such as weddings, reunions, and birthdays are welcome with prior approval, a signed event agreement, proof of insurance, and payment of a separate event fee.

- All events must be preapproved, sign our event agreement, pay a separate event fee, and provide proof of event insurance. Inquired today for more information about our event hosting policy.
- Minimum booking age is 25.
To help you relax and enjoy your stay, we have partnered with Safely to provide all reservations with damage protection. The cost for Safely is $65 for 1-29 nights, $300 for 30-59 nights, $395 for 60-89 nights, and $475 for 90-119 nights. All reservations will initially be charged a $65 Safely Damage Insurance Fee. For stays longer than 29 nights, the additional charges will be processed after booking. All reservations are subject to the guest agreement terms, conditions, and fees.
Guest Access:
This property features self-check-in. Check-in is permitted between 4:00 pm -10:00 pm. Guest are responsible for having their check-in instruction before arrival. Check-in instructions are sent after completing our guest check-in form and agreeing to our terms of service. The home's property address will also be sent separately 72 hours prior to check-in.

Guests are provided with a small amount of the basic essentials including 2 rolls of paper towels, 2 rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom, 2 laundry pods, 2 dish pods, a full dish soap dispenser, full soap dispensers in each bathroom, and basic cleaning supplies. Guests are not to use the host's inventory of bulk supplies left at the property and should be prepared to supply their own as needed for longer stays.
CHECK OUT INSTRUCTIONS:
•November-April: Set the heat/thermostat to 55 degrees and close the blinds.
•May-October: Shut off everything and close the blinds.
•Strip beds (not mattress pads) and pile all sheets and towels on the floor near the washer. Start a load of towels in the washer. (If applicable.)
•If you used more than 2 shower towels, hand towels, or washcloths per person we ask that you wash, dry, and put the excess away before checking out. (If applicable.)
•Dispose of all food. No food or beverages are to be left inside the property.
•Put all trash in the garbage bin. Trash instructions are noted in your Guest Guide Link. Please take the trash to the road if your stay falls on or within 48 hours of trash day.
•Put patio cushions back. (If applicable.)
•All dishes must be washed, dried, and put away. Dirty dishes may result in a $100 additional guest cleaning fee.
•Turn off all lights.
•Lock the door.
