Located on 30 acres of woods with a creek flowing behind the cabin, this recently-built log home has a campfire area for evening good times and s'mores, and close proximity to Lake Michigan, Crystal Mountain, the Platte and Betsie Rivers, the Platte Lakes and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The cabin has a lovely back porch, loft, living area, Two well-furnished bedrooms (4 queens 2 of which are futons) laundry area, modern kitchen, televisions and WiFi.

The cabin was perfect for the three of us for our week of fishing. Sleeping accommodations were comfortable. We will definitely keep this property in mind for another trip.

Spent a lovely five nights at the cabin. It's our third year and we absolutely love it. Host is responsive and the cabin has everything we need.

This is an excellent place to stay if you love nature and privacy. It’s family oriented and close to many things to do and explore. This is our second year and we’ve already booked for next year!

My husband and I stayed at this property last year and had such a nice time that we brought our son and his family along this year. The cabin is very clean and has a nice home feel with plenty of space and a fully stocked kitchen where we prepared all of our meals. There is also a back screened-in porch that came in handy for storing our outside things such as coolers, beach chairs, golf clubs etc.The road to the cabin had little traffic which made it nice for walking the dogs and with the surrounding woods it is very peaceful atmosphere.The host was very responsive to all my messages and check-in was easy in and out. We definitely recommend staying here and will back again ourselves.

This is the second time we have stayed at this cabin. Its location is private, but there is very easy access to a number of places, including our primary reason for the trip: Sleeping Bear Dunes. The cabin is well maintained, clean, and the large windows provide beautiful natural light.

The place was very clean! The kids enjoyed having a large space around the property. The layout was perfect. It worked very well for us as we were there for a wedding in Honor.

If you are looking for a quiet cabin in the woods this is it. Small creek runs through the backyard, and wildflowers in bloom. Enjoyed the fire pit; roasted marshmallows and star gazed. Great getaway.

It was wooded and off the beaten path which we liked. The inside is cozy with comfortable sleeping. The screened in back porch is certainly a plus. We’ll be back next summer!

Phil and Ginny Lavender are the property owners. We are both retired and would love to share our new vacation home with you. Our primary home is in Lake Orion, MI. although we both were born and raised in western Michigan.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

Phil's mother and grandparents grew up in the area and Benzie County has always been a second home. The family cabin, built in the late '30's is located just a few hundred yards away. Building our own log cabin has always been a goal for Phil and his sister who also built 2 cabins nearby.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

Special attractions to our place are the birds and other wildlife, the closeness of Lake Michigan and the Sleeping Bear Dunes, Little Platte Lake and the Platte River. We have no neighbors close- by so it provides a very private, quiet, peaceful setting. We especially enjoy our back porch overlooking a quiet stream and woods. We also enjoy evening campfires and back-yard barbecues.
