Complete remodel and upgrade 2021 - our beautiful contemporary beach house is ready for your perfect family vacation!

We are very excited to present our fully remodeled and upgraded Casa Bonita featuring two additional master suites incl bathrooms & individual roof top balconies on the newly created second floor. We also expanded our outdoor living area to incorporate the BBQ under a wood paneled ceiling to allow for outdoor dining and lounging in any weather. Also new is the covered game area with a ping pong table at the front of the tropical yard.

Our relaxing and gorgeous home is located only a few steps (2-minute stroll) from Playa Grande Beach in the area of Palm Beach Estates, an exclusive community nestled between the beach and the largest estuary in Central America, surrounded by tall trees giving you a sense of pleasant privacy and tranquility all around.

Enjoy your best vacation ever in a comfortable and spacious 6 bedroom, 5 bathroom house which is fully air conditioned, has 4 king size beds, 4 full beds (that can be converted to King) and space enough for 3 families. All rooms have fans and air conditioners for your comfort. In addition, the bedrooms offer lots of storage in the large closets. The kitchen is new and fully equipped with appliances and all necessary utensils, and features a center island inviting everyone to enjoy the meal preparation together.

You will have your very own private tropical garden and large pool with built-in bar stools. The outdoor barbecue area provides a fun alternative to cooking for the whole family or for your BBQ party with friends. Have a drink on our patio while listening to parrots, tropical birds and howler monkeys announce their presence...

The area of Tamarindo/Playa Grande is known for a variety of activities such as World-Cass Surfing, Golf, Boating, Swimming, Hiking, Nature Trails, Wildlife Watching Tours, Jetskiing, Canopying, Fishing, Sailing, Horse Back Riding.... Alternatively, enjoy the large variety of restaurants, bars and clubs in Tamarindo or discover the town's many shops and stores. Casa Bonita is close to a convenience store, but Tamarindo has some very sophisticated supermarkets and restaurants. There are also different tour operators, banks, spas, car rental agencies and all other necessary services in Tamarindo.

Casa Bonita's excellent location allows guests to walk to Tamarindo's stores and restaurants along the beach while providing an oasis away from the noise and hassle of the town. Enjoy our tropical garden, beautiful pool and comfy outdoor living space for a getaway with friends or family.

This house was exactly as described and even better in many aspects! The pool and garden is a beautiful space that is maintained daily. Every room was well furnished and comfortable. SO CLOSE to the beach and walking to two wonderful restaurants. Close drive to grocery stores. Don’t miss the daily sunsets at the beach. Daily visits from cute monkeys. Beautiful property and area. Had an amazing time!

This was a great spring break trip with multiple families. House is minutes from the beach and there are great restaurants within walking distance. The house was perfect for 10 people. It has an open concept but rooms were quiet and air conditioned. It was our first time to Costa Rica. Pura Vida! Loved it.

This is the best family vacation accommodation experience that we've had. The house is well supplied, the host/ manager was extremely attentive and accommodating. The staff that helped care for the property were helpful, friendly and efficient. We would recommend this place for any large family group, it's just a short walk to the beautiful beach with many cafe's & restaurants to choose from even within the compound. Manfred the manager was efficient and prompt in anything we asked him about. Thank you for letting us stay in your gorgeous property.

Fantastic home and great location

This was our second time staying at this wonderful property. The house is very comfortable, the pool is great and so close to walk to the beach. The Palm Beach Estates community is a true hidden gem. Playa grande is one of the best beaches in the world!

Casa Bonita - Perfect location

Casa Bonita was an amazing house. The outside space was very accommodating. After hours of surfing, the rest of the day was spent lounging around the pool. Perfect surf holiday to start the new year.

Great family house

We loved the pool and close access to the beach. Would of liked some extra blankets and the upstairs Air conditioning units made some loud noises that kept us up.

Amazing stay!

We were two families traveling over spring break. Casa Bonita had everything we could hope for! Beautiful house and pool. We enjoyed coffee in the mornings on the outdoor living area. There are several great restaurants within a 5 min walk. Manfred the caretaker was very helpful. We so enjoyed his chocolate croissants! We will be back!

Casa Bonita / Playa Grande

We spent a week at Casa Bonita in Playa Grande. This was our fourth trip to Playa Grande for surfing but the first time staying at Casa Bonita. The house is very large and very well maintained with an attractive and flexible layout. The grounds and pool are amazing. The beach is a very short walk. Manfred the property manager is close by and very friendly. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning int to Playa Grande in the future.

Nice location, perfect for a large family

Very nice house, very quiet and the pool is amazing. Very closed to restaurants, beach and yoga classes. The space is perfect with 6 bedrooms and an indoor kitchen. The house is renovated, but you can see it has been used a lot (very basic material).Not 100% secure, as we got one surf board stolen, even if our outdoor gate was closed. We got flood due to a fridge water supply leak. The cleaning team got the house only a few hours later.

Lovely!

What a lovely home. We shared the space with two other families all with kids. Great pool and great beach access. Manfred was always available and the concierge the owners recommended was super helpful. Playa grande was a perfect relaxing place to vacation with family and kids! The walkable cafes were lovely. Having a car (or ATV) was helpful to get things outside the small village or to go to other restaurants but really not needed if you are fine just hanging and relaxing/playing. There were plenty of towels- air conditioning worked well- pool was lovely. Highly recommend!

Family Vacation

The house was wonderful and fit our family well. Great location, about 3 to 5 min. walk to a great beach. What great sunset and the beach had great sand and water was great. The house is located near great small restaurants and bars and the food was also good. The pool was large, and the kids had a great time using it. We also had a cook come in for 5 dinners, what a smart thing to do, I would recommend for sure. The owner and property manager were great to work with and Manfred the onsite manager was so helpful and when you called, he gets right back to you or next thing you knew he was there to fix or help with any issue we had, which were very few. Great place and great place to take your family.

Perfect Beach House

We had three families stay in this awesome house for 3 nights. It was IDEAL for beach access (less than 5 min walk to beach), extremely safe and walkable to many spots. The neighborhood is set up with street signs and markers indicating where various cafes and restaurants are. Do not miss the Grateful Hotel and Sugabees. Amazing Banana Pancakes and delicious smoothies. We loved the amount of bedrooms and ease of using everything. The pool was refreshing after the hot beach sun and sand. Hard to enjoy the patio at night as there are lots of bugs and not much you can do to avoid but would be amazing if screened in :). Loved the distance to rentals and cafe. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and would highly recommend.

Great Villa, Excellent location

Casa Bonita was perfect for our family group. Just back from the incredible Playa Grande with perfect waves and quiet beach. Don't expect night life and shopping (go to Tamarindo for that) but a couple of lovely restaurants a mini mart and peace and quiet...its perfect. Need car or taxi for supermarket shop. Pool area is a great place to relax and the outside dining we used for long lunches and entertaining evenings. Extremely well-equipped kitchen. Lovely bedrooms with plenty of towels. Excellent a/c. Manfred was super helpful and responsive, really felt looked after. Only negative is no laundry facilities but Manfred found a service for us that was reasoable and fast turn around, so all good.

Beautiful location

The house is new and very well maintained. Its absolutely beautiful. Manfred (property manager) was very helpful. We especially enjoyed the outdoor living space and pool. The location is fantastic, very close to the beach. The property is tucked behind vegetation so it is very private. The kitchen was well-appointed with everything you'll need. My only (minimal) complaints would be that guests do not have access to the washer/dryer. Also - the guests are given just enough linens - one pillow, one blanket, one sheet, one towel... per room/person. We requested extra blankets and pillows when the cleaners came to the house and were given them. Also - the home has key access only. We were given three sets of keys. With a 6-bedroom home and 10 of us coming/going all day, it would've been so much easier to have door codes/key pads. Otherwise, its a beautiful home and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! And - I would highly recommend it.

Multi-generational Vacation

Casa Bonita was a perfect fit for our family of 7, including my parents (in their 70's), 3 adult children, myself and my husband. The location to the very quiet beach was amazing, just steps away. The huge pool was cleaned daily and was utilized by all. We really enjoyed the restaurants and small grocery store within Palm Beach Estates. Several mornings, right around sunrise, we were able to hear and see howler monkeys near the property. Manfred, the property manager, was very responsive. We ordered bakery from him and his wife, oh my goodness! So delicious! As for excursions, we did a fishing charter, Coyote, out of Tamarindo, and it was fantastic! There were four of us and we each caught a huge sailfish. We utilized Playa Grande Shuttle and Tours, as recommended by our hosts for our other excursion, and they were equally as amazing. Our private guide, José, was very kind and wonderful. We hiked the Arenal National Park by the volcano, swam in the hot springs, ate a delicious traditional lunch and ziplined. It was a busy but fulfilling day and we were all grateful to have José to drive and accompany us. None of us were ready to come home from this amazing vacation!

Loved the beach and location

Casa Bonita was a perfect place for our group of 11 adults. There is a large outdoor covered patio where we spent a lot of time. The bedrooms were very comfortable. The beach was a short walk and was quiet. There are a few restaurants, a coffee shop and a little store within walking distance too. If you walk to the end of the beach you can take a ferry across a small estuary to Tamarindo for $2. The only thing that would have made the property better would have been a few more bath towels and kitchen dish cloths. But that is very minimal.

Casa Bonita Did Not Disappoint

We traveled with 9 family memebers (ages 3-67) and we all stayed in the home comfortably. Before we even arrived Iris and Bjorn ensured we had everything we needed to plan an amazing trip. Connecting us with Abraham and his team helped us create memorable experiences with information about excursions, transportation and chefs. Manfred, the property manager was awesome and ensured we had everything we needed. The home is kept immaculately. Everything was clean and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. The rooms are lovely and we had plenty of space where we were nlt kn top od each other. We brought our own items for the beach since we knew there were not any items at the home. The outdoor area by the pool was absoultely stunning. We ate almost every meal outside. The pool was a favorite. We spent hours outside enjoying the pool and the outdoor furniture and everyone enjoyed themselves in the outdoor space. The area is perfect. We were literally steps from the beach. We also walked down to Mar Azul several times for drinks and food. If you go try the ginger beer and the cinnamon rolls. The only thing we weren't prepared for were the ants that seemed to come out at night. They did not spoil our trip and they were usually gone by the morning. A few things like wasps got in as well. We accepted that we were near the natural habitat. We also were excited to get visits from a few crabs, skunk and raccoon. So don't leave food outside because they come by in the morning to check and see if you left them goodies. It was exciting for our family especially the kids. Casa Bonita is in the perfect home in a wonderful community. You truly feel like you are in nature and on a vacation. We will definitely be back to make more memories.

Perfect Playa Grande House

Very nice house in the Palm Beach area of Playa Grande. Short walk to the beach and nice pool cleaned daily. Easy to communicate with the house manager and great security on the property. Would love to come back.

Paradise Getaway

A family of 12 ( 8 adults, 4 kids aged 9 to 3) stayed in this property for 10 days. The house is about an hour from Liberia and in a private villa estate property. The location is off the path but once you arrive to the property, you have all that you need within walking distance. The beach was literally a 2 minute walk and very easy for elders and young kids. There were two restaurants within walking distance, one was a 3 minute walk and the other is 5 minutes. The house looks exactly as advertised and we made good use of the swimming pool. A grounds keeper came everyday and maintained the property meticulously and Abraham was available and helped to arrange all of our taxi requests and our covid test. It was an excellent stay!

Iris and Bjorn - we have been hosting travelers in our two properties here in Costa Rica for over 11 years now, and hope to someday make this place our retirement home. Our son learned to swim and surf here, and we have spent many days and weeks filled with incredible experiences and created many wondrous memories here.
