A series of unfortunate events…
Let’s start with a positive: location. This rental is within walking distance to The Ave and a plethora of wonderful dining. For this we are thankful as it allowed us to be literally anywhere but our VRBO.
We had requested a late check-in, as we were coming into town late for a funeral. Unfortunately, we were not informed there are three units at the address listed, none of which are marked with any sort of unit numbers. In our travel haze, we entered the correct code on an incorrect unit and were somehow allowed entrance. We dropped off our bags to grab dinner, locking the door behind us. Upon our return, we found ourselves locked out of the unit. We were locked out until after 4 in the morning. We spent 45 minutes on the phone with VRBO trying to gain access to our belongings including time-sensitive medications. VRBO attempted to get in touch with Laura as did we to no avail. We were finally reunited with our belongings 10 hours later (Thank you, Joe!). Compounding the situation, upon entering the correct unit, we were greeted with a toilet full of urine, rogue hairs in the bathroom, evident mold, and an unpleasant odor throughout. The cherry on top being our interaction with the owner. After requesting a call through Joe we finally heard from Laura. Her demeanor was profoundly rude, immediately launching into blame rather than addressing the situation in any sort of constructive way, ending with Laura hanging up on us. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this property.
