We had our small college classmates reunion there, 5 couples stayed here. The rooms are comfortable, the yards are well maintained and beautiful. We had a good time there. Thank you.

Beautiful property that exceeded expectations! Truly an original Carmel home with all the personality and charisma from a family that cares deeply about their heritage. We felt lucky to be able to stay in their space and left wishing we could stay longer!

We had a great stay! The space was spacious, peaceful, and secluded. We loved seeing birds and deer outside the windows. The hot tub was relaxing, and it was nice to have toys on hand for our 2-year-old, plus a piano to play. Communication with the host was good throughout. Her brother, who stopped by to assist us with something, was very kind and helpful. The location was convenient — about 15 minutes drive to anywhere in Monterey or Carmel. A peaceful, well-located retreat overall. Thank you for hosting us, Susan!

Our family of 10 had an incredible time. A beautiful home that easily slept all of us. We enjoyed the hot tubs everyday and enjoyed the wildlife so much. The fruit trees and flowers were beautiful. We had several meals out on the back deck and enjoyed incredible weather. Centrally located to both Carmel and Monterrey. We will be back and will tell our friends for sure. Thank you host Susan. We loved our stay at Jack's Retreat. The house and grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. It's a special place and I hope to have an opportunity to returrn.

We have stayed in this wonderful home two times now and plan on returning next year. As long as they’ll have us, we will keep coming back. This warm, family home is an absolute gem. It is filled with history and love. We occupy the four main rooms and each of our couples has a comfortable bed and their own bathroom. We play in the Monterey/Carmel area during the day. Then we come back to have happy hour on the back deck, watch the birds, (sometimes deer), and take in the gorgeous view. We make dinner in the very well-stocked kitchen and play cards/games at the large dining room table in the evening. In the morning we talk and drink our coffee together in the living room with its plentiful seating, then head to the hot tub and enjoy all the views and serenity this home provides.The hosts are just terrific! We feel so lucky to have discovered them and their wonderful home.

The house was phenomenal! So beautiful, warm, and welcoming. It had so much charm and uniqueness, close enough to everything in Monterey and Carmel, but secluded so you feel like you are in a retreat in the mountains. Deer in the yard in the morning while you are having coffee on the deck or hummingbirds flying around as you have a glass of wine in the evening. Amazing place and highly recommend!

Wonderful place for a family vacation

We checked out three days ago, and my adult daughter texted me today to tell me that she wishes we were still at this vacation house. So beautiful, inside and out - lovely place to connect with nature!

Fabulous Family Get-away

We loved this beautifully appointed home that is super well stocked with everything you need. The 5 rooms all with baths was perfect for extended family of mostly adults. We loved the scenic and peaceful "resort" like setting and the two hottubs had space for everyone. Close to Carmel and Monterey but not in the fray of the touristy parking mess made this the perfect place to stay.

Big Sur Stay

The house is a beautiful retreat with lots of space and well stocked cabinets. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the peace and quiet of this lovely home.

Family getaway

We stayed here with our sons and their families. They really enjoyed the big hot tub and exploring the property. Great place for large groups and the property manager was very helpful and nice

Great house and property!

Our stay was nothing short of wonderful. Everything from the nostalgic feel of the house, the fireplaces, the hot tub, the great layout, to the surrounding property was amazing. Our family truly enjoyed this house. Would book again.

Wow, this home was ment to hold us over until our regular Jazz Festival house was available, but we all fell in love! From the large in ground hot tub, to the most well stock home we have ever stayed in, to the timely responses to our every question or request, to the numerous places that seven of us could gather, dine or just enjoy the serenity of the home and grounds, it surpassed every expectation! We are booking our return stay.

Five Star Stay!

This home is fabulous! It has so much charm and comfort! We enjoyed the gorgeous gardens and outdoor living spaces. The location was central and perfect for day trips all around the surrounding areas. The owners communicated quickly and ensured our stay was a five star experience.

Celebrating Dad’s 90th Birthday

Beautiful area, we throughly enjoyed our family time for Dad’s 90th Birthday. The house was plenty big for the 9 of us.
