We love Carmel, but hadn't been there in several years. We went with another couple with whom we have traveled all over the world. Our world travel days are pretty much behind us; we wanted a home with a view, upscale furnishings, and plenty of outside area to relax in comfort. This house met those requirements perfectly. And the location is great.Bill met us when we checked in and gave us a thorough walk-through.

This is a beautiful home with views of the ocean from every bedroom! As the home of the VRBO host, it is meticulously detailed with exquisite artwork and high quality appointments throughout. The attention to detail in everything from the furniture to the lighting design made for a luxurious environment in which to relax and enjoy Carmel. And the outside patio area is just as beautiful as advertised. If you're looking for a high quality VRBO experience, this is your place! You will be met by your host who will ensure you are comfortable and know how to work all lighting fixtures, all appliances. An added bonus are his stories of how he acquired his most prized pieces of art! Can't recommend more highly.

This is one of those places that actually lives up to the insane pictures. It's a warm, inviting space with an amazing view and quite a functional kitchen for those who want to stay in and cook, which is actually a pretty good plan with the amazing patio. Bill was friendly and super responsive and took time to show us all the details of this wonderful property. It's also insanely close to downtown Carmel and the Mission Trail Park, an excellent mini-hike that's great for pets as well.

We had a great stay here. The view from the deck, living room and bedroom are spectacular. And there's an awesome coffee maker and milk foamer. Host is super friendly and welcoming.

Beautiful and comfortable property. Wonderful place to stay while visiting the Monterey peninsula. Everything we could want or need was provided. Beds were super comfy and the bed linens and towels were luxurious. I loved the many beautiful art pieces. We wish we could have spent more time there to enjoy the hot tub and fire pit. Host was friendly and spent plenty of time showing us around and making sure we could appropriately use the many amenities. Would stay again

The house was spotless! It was the best equipped kitchen I have ever seen. Every pot, pan, gadget you can imagine. The view was amazing. The living room sectional was very comfy. The house was beautiful. The second bedroom mattress was super hard. I was staying with a pug dog. I thought there would be a grassy area in the back yard. Not so. I should have asked. So Lulu had to go for walks to go potty. The street was very nice and there were some areas that were marginally good for a dog to relieve themselves. I don't mind doing poop patrol, it just would have been more convenient to be right at the house on some grass or artificial turf.

This is a beautiful home. Well appointed, beautifully done, Very comfortable, several areas for seating, both indoors and out. The art work in and around the grounds is so interesting and eclectic, as are the furnishings. Bill resides in the lower apartment while renting out his main house. He is a very accommodating host with lots of knowledge of the area. Highly recommend!!

Great for a family

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful property and so close to downtown Carmel and to nearby grocery store. Bill was super helpful and gave us lots of tips of the local area. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect for a treat of a trip. We loved staying in such a iconic Mid-Century Modern home, and being able to just absorb the beauty and serenity of the area right from our "base camp". Bill does a great job settling you in, and explaining the intricacies of his home, as well as some of the unique decorations and features. We loved finding little details, and enjoyed the thoughtful amenities and setup. Highlights for sure are the patio, living room fire place, lovely and comfy beds, and the hot tub, which is perfect for stargazing on a clear night. Bonus points for watching spectacular moon sets from the comfort of my bed. Bill is very detail oriented and organized, and you won't want for anything while you enjoy his home. Thank you - we made happy lasting memories of "being in Carmel". Super duper bonus points for being a nice place for the pups - they loved being "Carmelitas" for a few days.

Loved this place

This property is lovely. Every room has an ocean view. The decor kept delighting us. The outside space was inviting. The owner is personable and welcoming. We loved staying here.

Great stay! This fantastic property boasts an unbeatable location and stunning views. The furniture and bedding are top-notch, and the gas fireplaces—both indoors and out—create the perfect cozy atmosphere for chilly nights.It has all the amenities you could hope for. An espresso machine for lattes would be a nice bonus (perhaps a Breville Barista, since Bill’s a fan—worth adding to the wish list!). Owner Bill is super helpful and responsive; he’s done an amazing job curating luxury outdoor seating and lush gardens. His recent bathroom and shower updates fully address past guest concerns, showing he truly acts on feedback. Oh, and the radiant floor heating is incredibly cozy.

Magical garden

The property was comfortable and as stated. We spent 90% of our time in the yard which had a lovely view and filled throughout with interesting and magical plants birdhouses fountains and like. Owner very nice and helpful.

This property is a very special Mid Century Modern design that was originally built in the early 60's and I have completely remodeled it with keeping the original design in mind and have done so with a tremendous amount of details through out both the inside as well as the exterior and the grounds.
