Enjoy a private wilderness getaway and unwind on a beautiful working farm. Your private cottage is located on Putney Mountain in Brookline VT. This charming dwelling offers an outdoor grill on a large deck with field and forest views. Enjoy watching the cows and sheep in nearby pastures, and the sun setting on nearby mountains. The space is radiant floor heated in the winter and VT cool in the summer. Electric car charging on request is available. This location is perfect for nature lovers, with a local rivers and miles of trails nearby for hiking and mountain biking. Stratton Mt and Mt Snow are only a half hour away and nearby lakes and rivers are perfect for canoeing and kayaking.

We had such a lovely stay here! Our hosts were very communicative and friendly, and they gave us some great recommendations for where to get the best local food! The view off of the balcony was amazing. We were lucky enough to stay during lambing season - we were very entertained by watching the new lambs and their mamas.

A cozy escape to a very picturesque part of the state. My kids loved the farm and feeding the animals. Johnny and Sara were attentive and gracious hosts who genuinely want you to have an amazing time. We loved venturing into Brattleboro for a rock show at the Stone Church and hiking the nearby trails and being surrounded by raptors. Thank you for sharing your farm with us for a much needed retreat away from our daily life.

Johnny and Sara were incredibly welcoming and kind. Both went out of their way to make our stay fun and interesting (e.g., got to hand feed their cows and sheep, great restaurant recommendations, etc)! The guesthouse was perfect for 4 - we had a really lovely time!

This is an exactly-as-advertised charming property on a lovely small working farm, with pleasing views and equipped just as you'd want a country cabin to be. Host Johnny couldn't have been more attentive and friendly. If you want absolute quiet, know that during the day there will be mooing and baaing from the cows and sheep, but in our experience they went to sleep sooner than the humans and certainly didn't get up before we did.A quick drive further up the hill is some easy and beautiful hiking, together with more strenuous trails for adventurous hikers. A few miles away at Dutton's could be found exceptional local produce and baked goods. Nearby Brattleboro is full of charm and other attractions.Bonus for dog owners: the hosts have a beautiful, friendly Leonberger, who (at least with our spunky Entlebucher) got on like crackerjacks. And to think we hadn't known how we were going to get all the dog exercise in!

What a lovely stay! Picturesque and true to Vermont. Morning coffee on the deck watching the fog lift from the valley was a highlight. Our hosts were fantastic and extremely considerate from booking to checkout. Would definitely stay again.

The property is exactly what I had hoped for. It is definitely one of the better places that I have stayed. It was clean and very comfortable for us. But what made the stay exceptional was the excellent reception and how accommodating Sara and Johnny were. No question, they were the best hosts that I have ever encountered. I'm looking forward to the next time.

The Swing House is a great place to disconnect and rest. We stayed here during our Son’s College drop off and orientation. We loved seeing the cows and sheep roam while taking in great views of the sun setting and stars shining. We will be back to stay for parents weekend at Landmark College!

Fantastic little retreat spot

The location is idyllic, the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful and the actual house is really clean, neat and serene. I'll definitely be coming back!

Rest and relaxation

If you want peace and quiet, this is the place. Perfect, friendly hosts always willing to share their experience. Time stood still during our visit. At night, the fireflies and stars were brilliant!We plan to visit again.

I loved this place. Sometimes character wins over everything else. We stayed here at the tail end of our 10 day, 3 state vacation and we were tired. This place was perfect for just relaxing. I loved having the cows and sheep around making their noises sporadically throughout the day. It was also well stocked and had a very freindly owner.

Good retreat

We rented the property for a weekend of skiing. Found it to be a great, quiet retreat. Hosts were great to deal with, and we'd be glad to book again.

Weekend Away

We had suchba lovely stay. The guest house was cozy and stocked with all of the essentials. My children loved waking up with a view of the animals.

Our favorite stay in Vermont!

The location is beautiful and convenient to multiple hiking trails. We loved watching the sunset on the deck and the atmosphere is incredibly relaxing. Johnny and Sara are wonderful, welcoming hosts and we enjoyed getting to know them and seeing their incredibly property. The house has all that you’ll need for a comfortable farmstay! Even on hot days it cools off at night for comfortable sleeping. You won’t regret staying here!

Great place for a peaceful weekend getaway, the back deck is stellar for an evening drink. Nice little town with a couple restaurant options 8 min away.

Relaxing getaway

This was a perfect, relaxing cottage for our short get away in VT! Everything was clean and inviting and Sara was super friendly and helpful with recommendations. The Mountain View’s were lovely and the cows and sheep made excellent neighbors:)

Such an enjoyable stay!

We really enjoyed our stay here! Sara and Johnny were phenomenal hosts. The house was very clean and comfortable. The area and fall foliage were beautiful! We got to participate in feeding the farm animals in the morning which was so cool to see. Great for any age!

Quiet, peaceful cabin in a lovely location

We enjoyed a lovely Christmas getaway here. Beautiful setting with mountain views and truly spectacular stars at night - there was so little light pollution we could even make out the shape of the milky way! And the silence was absolute - so peaceful! Sara and Johnny were very responsive and helpful hosts!
