Big Nate Cabin on Lake with Water Trampoline

Big Nate is a 4 bedroom cabin with 2 full kitchens and 2 living rooms and 2400 sq ft of space. He is the bear who will greet you at the door. There are also 5 bathrooms in Big Nate for your convenience and privacy. The terrain is an easy slope for walking and a great place for kids to play. We have a seesaw and horse swing for the younger kids and horse shoes for the older kids. Big Nate has its own separate boat dock and a ramp to put your boat in the water. We have a 15 ft trampoline with a slide and launch. You can fish off the boat docks or just lay around and swim. There is a fireplace with shed and a firepit to sit around at night. There is lots of space to have your family outings.

A few issues but the owner took care of them immediately. Great place for kids. The trampoline and accessories were a huge hit with the kids. We are already planning to come back next year.

We had a wonderful time overall, but the property requires a more attentive effort. Mainly the plumbing needs a very good service overhaul, the home exterior warrants some more TLC and the kitchen appliances (fridge right door close problem, dishwasher needs to be anchored from pulling out when opened for use) should be looked at. Previous VRBO locations always had guide reference/usage host instructions binder somewhere inside the home.These only are recommended suggestions because we dealt with the minor inconveniences. The location is outstanding for ease and enjoyment. We will definitely consider Big Nate's for next visit! Thank you!

It was a great summer vacation. It was perfect for 10 adults, 1 child and 2 dogs. We brought our two jet skis and had a wonderful time on Lake Chatuge. We rented a Wake Boat the first day from the local Marina and spent the entire Saturday on the lake. Hiking, golfing sightseeing, shopping, paddleboarding, etc. The kids found a rope swing on the lake and had a blast. There is a water trampoline off of the dock. The kids had a blast. The house has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Each bedroom had its own bathroom. The 5th bathroom is right off of the front door. It is a two-story with a loft. The bottom floor is like a separate apartment with its own kitchen and livingroom with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We wish we could've stayed there for a month.

This was a beautiful place to stay! It was clean and big enough for everyone. We didn't get to enjoy the water because of the cold weather. We will be back for another stay.

We had a great time at Big Nates. The lake was wonderful and the kids loved the water trampoline. Cabin was comfortable and all 11 of us fit with no problem. Great hikes are close by.

Second stay at Big Nate

Our family had another great time at Big Nate! The dock is great for our boat, with the ramp right in back of the cabin. The layout of this large cabin is perfect for the different generations of our family. The large covered back deck overlooks the lake and is so peaceful. Great vacation!

Great spot on the lake. Big house with plenty of room. Lake trampoline was a shared amenity which was fine but didn’t catch that in the listing. House could have been cleaner (showers not cleaned, many cobwebs) but overall a nice stay.

Family getaway

We have stayed here before and had a great time again. Since the olympics just started we did our own games and had medals and an awards ceremony. Just a lot of fun! Thanks for letting us stay here again.

Great Stay

We really enjoyed our stay at Big Nate's! Our family (ranging 80 to 8 years old) enjoyed the house and the property. We were even rained in one day, and there was plenty of room! We collectively decided we would like to return...but especially in the warmer months so we could take advantage of the water more!

Fantastic !!!

We loved big Big Nate’s ! It had a lot of space , a beautiful dock , a ramp for your boat or jetskis and a nice flat driveway . We will definitely stay at this property again . We enjoyed nightly fires in the huge outdoor fireplace area too .

Memorial Day Weekend

House was big and roomy, loved the outdoor area. Only draw back was no TV, no internet, and no DVD player to watch movies late at night, other than that, loved it and would rent again.

Family time

The property is everything we asked for and more. We had all 3 cabins rented for a family lunch. The pavilion at Big Nate plus the area in all 3 backyards was perfect. We didn’t let Hurricane Helene slow us down even though a lot of family stuck in S.C. and could not attend. Thank you Shirley!

Beautiful cabin

The cabin is beautiful, great spaces, nice lake view located in great area. Need some repairs, the main bathroom toilet is not working properly (no water), main kitchen faucet handle sprinkle water when you open it , basement 2nd bathroom toilet is lose (it moves when you seat on it)

Hide and seek for the kids was great fun!

It was the coldest days of the year and the lake was frozen, but the kids loved breaking up the ice! It was perfect for our families that gathered at Christmas. When the water pipe busted because of the cold, the managers came right away and fixed it up so we could continue to stay. It would be perfect for summertime when you could enjoy the lake and swimming!

June experience

Had a wonderful time with large family ranging from teen through senior citizens (including wheelchair). The house was spacious and provided plenty of beds, bedrooms and bathrooms to give individuals space. We spent time in the lake using the trampoline, slide and swimming off the dock. We rented kayaks and enjoyed the lake. Response was quick when using the call feature in the app. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Chatuge Vacation

Wonderful location! Our crew of nine plus 2 grand dogs had a great stay right on the lake. We rented a boat and docked it in our own dock. Swimming off the dock and trampoline was wonderful! If we ran out of anything we just walked over to Dollar General. Internet worked well for those who had to keep up with work. Downstairs bathroom toilet was a bit shakey but could be easily fixed. Over all, a 10 vacation!

Overall property it’s amazing! I wish there was better communication with property manager I asked how to turn on the the fireplace for Christmas and I never got a reply other than that overall it was great experience, I liked that there is a dollar general store across the street walking distance.Thank you.
