Welcome to Cottage by the Caverns! A completely renovated 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house in the heart of Luray, Virginia. Your family and friends will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located cozy home.

Checking In:
★ We try to make check in as easy as possible with a smart lock that will send you a personal code for the duration of your stay. No waiting for us to let you in, you can simply come and go as you please!
★ All Linens will be on beds, towels cleaned and ready for your use.
★ We provide one roll of TP in each bathroom, 2 towels for each bed, one paper towel roll, detergent pods for the dishwasher, and the basics for your showers!

YOUR STAY:
★ Our goal with this home is to allow you to truly experience and enjoy all that Luray has to offer with a short distance to travel. This beautiful small town has a multitude of delicious eats and places to visit, and we wanted to provide a centrally located place for you to experience it all and have a cozy home base to escape to.

★ We have recommendations in our guest book provided and plenty of menus in the kitchen from local shops that we have enjoyed eating/ drinking at in Luray. Please let us know if you have any questions about the area while you’re there!

Checking Out:
★ Our simple checkout process is just to give our cleaners a bit of an easier task. All we ask is to turn off lights, run the dishwasher/ wash any dishes, place the ac or heat back to the original setting if adjusted, lock all doors, move furniture back to where it was previously located if moved, and most of all drive safely.

What a Lovely Home and Location

This home is just lovely and is in a great location. Neighbors are friendly and I had to call AAA for a flat tire and the local tow truck driver was an earth angel. Can't wait to stay here again!

Shenandoah Getaway

We had a long weekend visit to Luray and the central Shenandoah Valley and this was the perfect spot to stay. Beautiful, well maintained accommodations. We loved it.

This is close to the thornton gap entrance. With the shades open, it's a very sunny house. The house is right in the town of Luray, so you're close to your neighbors, but they're quiet. If possible, the owners should put a curtain in front of the front glass door.

Great Holiday Getaway

We had an amazing stay at this very well decorated 3-bdrm house. The home was as advertised and was everything we needed for a relaxing stay. My family and I rented this property to experience the winter holiday away from our home. We wanted to enjoy something different, something cozy enough that will allow us to focus on family, and that's exactly what this cottage did for us.The kitchen was fully stocked with all the utensils, plates, bowls, cups, and mugs we needed. Plus, there were a few pots and pans we used to cook nightly dinners through the week.The bedrooms were comfortable with memory foam mattresses, and each room had its own charm. The first two bedrooms share a full hallway bathroom, while the master suite has it's own full bathroom. In the master bathroom is a washer/dryer combo for your use. **Notes: The only way to the backyard is through the master bedroom. Heating is uneven throughout the house. It's warmer in the master bedroom than the rest of the home.**The location is choice as it’s just a short drive to Luray Caverns, Skyline Drive, and the adventurous, winding VA State Route 211. We really enjoyed the peaceful outdoor space with the fire pit, eating chili around the fire.The host was incredibly responsive and thoughtful, providing us with all the info we needed and even recommending local spots to check out. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking to explore the Shenandoah Valley or just enjoy a peaceful retreat.

Weekend Getaway

Great weekend stay at the Cottage! The cottage is in a great location, easily walkable to shops and restaurants. Also, in close proximity to lots of great hikes. All of the decor is updated and stylish, and accounts for everything you would need to have a cozy weekend with friends or family.

Lovely property that we enjoyed!!

We visited Luray, the Caverns, and Shenandoah NP. Property is really nice, clean, comfortable, and located near grocery stores and restaurants. We felt completely safe. Beautiful, private back yard with seating and fire pit. It had everything we needed. Enjoyed the AC heating system. Great TV in family room. Quiet at night. Previous renters haven’t been kind to some of the walls in the property. Host was very nice and accommodating.

Lovely home, conveniently located.

A friend and I spent a long weekend here. The house was clean, well-furnished, and in easy walking distance to downtown Luray. Tyler and Stephanie were very responsive to the few questions we had. A great place to stay for anyone in the area!

Great family stay

We had a lovely stay in Tyler's home. It was perfect for my husband and I and our two adult children. It was conveniently located to Luray Caverns and Shenandoah Park, as well as grocery stores and restaurants. I especially liked the updated finishes, large kitchen, washer and dryer and the fenced back yard with fire pit and charcoal grill. Tyler was very quick to respond to any questions I had. I would definitely stay again. Minor gripe would be the back bedroom lacked any storage for clothing and had a tiny bedside table. Also a couple more bath towels would've been great!

Cottage by the caverns

Very nice place. We had a great time. Nearby restaurants. Close to Shenandoah National Park and the caverns. Fire pit was great for smores. Would definitely stay again!

Great place

This place was REALLY nice. Beautiful outdoor space with fenced yard. Perfect for us and our dog. Everything you need was there. Quiet neighborhood and close to Luray Caverns (5-10 min) and Shenandoah National Park Thornton Gap entrance (15 min).

Cute place with a great fenced yard

Walkable parks and playgrounds, an easy drive into town or to the caverns, and we enjoyed a magical sunset around the fire in the backyard! My son can't wait to go back.

Perfect for a weekend away

This was the perfect size for our family and grandparents for a weekend stay. The house looks like it does in the photos, it was very clean. The location was right near the caverns and Jellystone which was exactly what we needed! Also a great playground nearby with a beautiful view of the mountains. Tyler was easy to connect with. We had a snafu with check-in/the smart lock didn't like us but he was on it. It really was a great location for a young family. The only thing I would share is that there are a few stairs leading up to the house from the gravel driveway (pictured, so I knew about it before booking) There are none inside which is great. Just in case you or someone you love cannot use steps or has difficulty. It was a bit challenging for my older parents because they have mobility issues. Overall, it was a lovely weekend celebrating our son's birthday and Tyler was a very responsive host.

Everything needed for a comfortable stay

This house had everything we needed for a quick getaway at Shenandoah NP. Nicely furnished, comfy beds, great backyard and front porch, quiet neighborhood. Ours was a small group, but this place would be great for up to three couples.

Family vacay

House was in a great location for our 3 day adventure in Shenandoah National Park. We are sunrise hikers so the backyard was the perfect place to relax in the afternoons. I would not hesitate to book this place again.

Perfect for us!

We drove to Luray from NC to do some touring of the area, and Cottage by the Caverns was wonderful! The house was the perfect size, decorated beautifully, and we absolutely loved the fire pit area! The location was perfect to hop over to the caverns, and the neighborhood itself was quiet, although the traffic got a bit noisy, at times. I would suggest bringing a noise machine, or playing fan sounds on your phone! Other than that, the house was exactly what we needed, and the communication with the owners was top notch! Tyler and Stephanie, thank you so much for everything! We enjoyed our stay so much!!!

Good spot for a quick hiking trip

Comfortable place to stay while we passed through the area to do some hiking. Clean and nice amenities for the short stay. There were indications of a hot tub in the listing, but there isn’t one. I would recommend some type of curtain on the front door glass it gives a pretty full view of the inside at night.

Great Place to Stay

My family and I stayed for a weekend and the house was wonderful. It has all the amenities we needed for the weekend visit. It was clean and tidy and we felt comfortable while we were there. The backyard was also really nice! The location was easy for us with our young family to get to everything we needed. Overall it was a great stay and we will likely stay there again!

Great house, close to Caverns!

Well kept home, everything you need in the kitchen, close to the Caverns. The host were wonderful, replied to any messages I sent very fast, only thing I would change about this house would be a blind or curtain in kitchen window and covering over the front glass door but that wouldn't stop me from renting this home again if I was to return to the area. Thanks for making my stay a wonderful one!

Cutest house

This house was perfect for our stay in Luray. It was very clean, well furnished and the home decor was very tasteful. The process of checking in was super easy and Tyler was a wonderful host! Super helpful with the property but also with any recommendations needed! Highly recommend.

Lovely midcentury vibe

Had a quick weekend stay in this well cleaned, updated home in Luray. Everything was super easy-finding the location, parking, gaining entrance, as well as the departure. The neighbors are far enough away that we didn't worry about being too loud or vice versa. The home is nice and close to town. We were able to walk to a brewery with a food truck. It was also nice to have an enclosed area in the back yard for our dog to roam. The front porch is a great place to enjoy coffee in the a.m. Beds were comfortable, easy sleeping. Simply put, it's a clean, comfortable place to stay for a small group. The owners were easy to work with. We really appreciated their super quick responses to our questions. I actually would give them a plus plus for being so nice and accommodating. After we left (and had done a once over), they found our daughter's iPad that she left, and mailed it to her that very day. We are VERY grateful for their kindness. No comment on my daughter who loses things a lot more than we care to admit.
