Steps from the Beach~ 99 Steps Away

One of Folly's Best, 99 Steps Away. This adorable 4 bedroom, 2 bath Folly home is one of the few remaining ‘streetcar’ houses on Folly Beach. This classic home is also only 99 steps away from the beach, which inspired the property name. Located on the quiet west end of Folly, this home is the perfect spot for a relaxing beach trip. This home features plenty of outdoor space to enjoy with the family. If you want to relax on the deck while grilling or step inside to the screened in porch where you can have an outdoor meal or lounge on the sofa and listen to the waves just across the street.

This updated classic has all the comforts plus a little extra. The living room and dining room feature windows that fill the room with natural light. Stay connected on your stay with WIFI and Smart TVs throughout. A pass through between the kitchen and dining room means you can always feel connected to your guests.There is even a special board game wall that features games for all ages. The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances to create a memorable dish. This home can sleep 8 guests with a comfortable King bed and smart TV in each bedroom. The primary bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a separate closet that features the shower, the washer/dryer, and a private entrance to the backyard. The bedrooms in the front of the home are connected. The front bedroom features a private entrance to the home through the screened porch. Stay cool in the summer as the HVAC was replaced in ‘24.

99 Steps Away allows 1 dog. Pre-approval is required, and fees apply-please don't hesitate to contact us directly for additional information. The rental includes 5 onsite parking spaces. Please note: charcoal/propane/firewood and cleaning of grill is the responsibility of the guest. There are multiple single step transitions on property. All photos are current and accurately depict the property. Please book with confidence. This property is licensed by the city of Folly Beach as a vacation rental - License Number LIC009756. Because of the potential of fraud we would not recommend booking a property not licensed by the city of Folly Beach as a vacation rental.

Great location and easy beach access! Property was as described and a good price for a last minute trip. We enjoyed being able to bring our dog too!

Great location. Literally the first row of homes after oceanfront. The home is well stocked, very clean, and gave us such a good feeling as soon as we walked in. The screened porch was wonderful for early morning coffee while the living room was a wonderful retreat in the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will book again. Oh and if you have any questions, concerns or anything, they are very easy to connect with. Wonderful hosts.

We loved this property. It is just as described. We loved the proximity to the beach. There were beach chairs to use at the beach, which was nice. I let management know about a coffee pot not working and a new one was at the door in a matter of hours. They were very accommodating and over the top responsive.

Great getaway

We visit Folly multiple times a year and this rental was our favorite so far. House was so cozy, the closeness to the beach was incredible, and location on the island was perfect.

Close to the beach!

This property was really close to the beach less than 5 minutes walking. I wish they would have child friendly dishes it is an order home but we had everything we needed. Big comfortable beds.

Great quirky house close to beach

The house is from the 30s and has a great personality! Beach access is very easy. Property was clean. We had a couple of small issues the 1st evening and by 10:30am the next morning they had already came over and resolved! Property is close to “downtown” Folly Beach but far enough away to be quiet. Only suggestion is it would be nice if all the rooms had a full length mirror instead of just the back bedroom. Overall, we loved it!

Review

The pictures need to be updated, the house needs some maintenance. The pictures look nice, but the entire house is leaning, the back yard looks much different in the pictures. The porch and lattice needs work. The lattice under the house is falling down, the grill that's available doesn't had propane to use. You need to purchase that! The house is ok but nothing extra for the price. Plenty of parking, clean house, but there not much else to say.

This property was perfect for what we needed. It is only a quick walk to the beach and a short golf cart ride to the restaurants and shops. The house also has plenty of room and lots of character. We will be back!

Location, location, location. If you can’t afford a beachfront property, this is the next best place. We counted the steps… it’s true, 99. We set up our spot in the morning and it was easy to walk back to the house for refreshments and bathroom breaks. I have rented many houses on Folly and Isle of Palms and I really think this is the perfect location. Mostly crowd free during the week.The house… it was perfect for us - 3 adults, 1 child, 1 dog. It was very clean. The kitchen has all the cooking necessities, nice pans and cutlery. We didn’t really cook a lot, but if we did it would have been no problem. Note, the house is old…. Built in 1948! There are features that are so interesting. I would have loved for the house to have pictures of it through the years. Oh the memories that house must have! However, as a result, the floors are a bit worrisome. I feel like it needs a bit more attention, structurally.All said, I would 100% rent it again. The rental company that manages it was very responsive to some air conditioning concerns we had. Turns out that a 78 year old house needs time to recover after the initial move in. Within 24 hours the air was comfortable and the refrigerator recovered from us loading it up with tasty snacks and beverages.I highly recommend this house for a fun stay on Folly!
