The large kitchen and dining room is wonderful for entertaining your friends and family as is the wrap-around deck overlooking the swimming pool. Deer are almost a daily attraction. Alta Sierra Country Club is open to the public and two blocks from the home. Historic Nevada City with live entertainment, multiple antique shops and varied restaurants is only 12 miles from Alta Sierra and downtown Grass Valley is a short 8 mile drive. The Nevada County Fair is rated one of the best in the country.

Great place for family

Family came to visit and stayed here. House was great for a good sized group and we cooked meals at the house as well.

Wonderful Family Getaway

Family trip

We enjoyed our stay! The house was very clean and comfortable. Very well stocked with everything you could need. The backyard/deck area was so enjoyable to sit and enjoy the sun and pool. Helga was very quick to respond if we had a question. Definitely recommend this property if you’re staying in Grass Valley!

Great Neighborhood

Below the snow and still part of the best of Nevada County in a great neighborhood. House was wonderful with many warm personal touches. We will definitely be back.

Great place in Grass Valley

We had such a great time at this VRBO. It was clean and well equipped. We enjoyed playing Pickleball in the morning and then cooling off in the pool in the afternoon. Although the pool water was rather chilly, it was very refreshing and so clean. There is plenty of seating, inside and out. You feel like you’re on a real retreat as this VRBO is surrounded by lots of trees.

This home has everything you’d want and more! The owner put a lot of effort into making this home the ultimate guest spot. It has all the amenities, the vibe is so cozy and homey! The fact that the home is dog friendly is a plus! Our dogs loved the yard and space. The owner was such a great host, I highly recommend this home for your next stay!

Nice getaway

A nice and spacious house. Big rooms with ample room. Yard is fenced, great for kids and dogs. Equipment is a bit outdated but works ok. Lots of shade

Great house and location

The house is big and spacious. Neighborhood very quiet and friendly. Pool was a tat bit cold for our spoiled dog, however he enjoyed laying by the pool in the sun. Humans got it. We had an issue with the internet but quickly got that up and running thanks to Helga!!

Family Week for memorial

We came to Grass Valley for my mom's memorial and the house was like a retreat. There was plenty of room for our family to stay comfortably and we all loved the pool and backyard. We cooked all of our meals in the huge kitchen and ate them all outback under the gorgeous oak trees. The early morning walks in the quiet neighborhood are the best and the warm evenings out by the pool. We will be back again next summer.

Calming

Overall this is a lovely place for our relaxing weekend in a quiet neighborhood. Our gratitude to Helga for hosting this home for us. We enjoyed the “cool” pool and the hot tub as well. A wide variety of restaurants and shopping areas are about 6 miles away. Deers roam around in the front yard and the neighborhood. It’s a short drive to the historic Empire mine. Grass Valley downtown offers various options to explore.

Family Get away

My husband, three kids and I had the best time at this house. The house itself is spacious, we all slept comfortably in our owns beds, enjoyed the pool and the quiet backyard surrounded by gorgeous Oak trees. We cooked many meals in the large, well equipped kitchen and celebrated by son's 12th birthday by eating out back by the pool. It was a wonderful long stay. The house is very clean and has everything we needed for our long stay. Helga is extremely responsive and easy to book with. We will return this summer.

Lovely home in a rural golf community

We loved the area and the house was well-equipped with everything we needed. The spa was nice to have as the weather was cold. We did need to turn it up before using and down before leaving, as requested in the home instructions. The pool was lovely but not the season for use for us. During the summer I am sure it is wonderful. We even went by the country club and enjoyed a drink looking over the course!

Grass Valley Foot Hill Retreat

The property was quite and comfortable. It was spacious and clean. We spread out and relaxed. The pool was chilly but, refreshing. We only had a issue with the spotty internet. The fences are intact but, only 3 feet tall. We kept our dogs on a leash to keep them from jumping the fence and chasing all the deer. Overall games and TV .. BBQ and pool.. Very relaxing.

Wonderful long weekend getaway

First, be informed. This home is in a clean quiet and private neighborhood nestled in the hills. It is not easy to find. The drive to Grass Valley's famous West Main Street is about 18 minutes. For obvious reasons the pool and hot tub thermostats are set low. Otherwise there SAS nothing lacking in this luxuriously appointed residence. Helga has maintained this home beautifully and we had all the comforts of our own home. This was a "one and done" trip for us to attend a wedding, as well as our own reunion, coming from the corners of this great nation. I highly recommend this vacation rental for a quiet stay with night life just a few minutes away.

We had a nice time at the house. The area was beautiful and the home was spacious. We enjoyed the pool but it was VERY cold. We stayed in August when it was quite warm weather but the water was still very cold. Otherwise a nice trip.

This home was built by a family member who lived there until her death. It holds very special memories and will stay in the family forever. We love attending the Victorian and Cornish Christmas fairs, as well as the Draft Horse Classic. Live theater is active throughout the year. We love this area.

Golfers! This home is conveniently located within walking distance to the Alta Sierra Country Club - across from the 11th fairway. Wildlife is abundant and can be viewed from the back deck as well as the picture windows from the home. Daily. The swimming pool is a welcome amenity and is fully maintained throughout the year - although cold in the winter.
