Welcome to ‘Carriewood’, a newly constructed cottage centrally located in the enchanted forest of Little Valhalla, Estes Park. Our contemporary & comfortable home sleeps 6, includes a Hot Tub, Tiny Barn rec room, & BBQ. This property is shared with local wildlife & nestled in the rocks with views of ‘The Notch’ on Longs Peak & Eagle Cliff Mountain. We are only minutes from local restaurants, shopping, & attractions. Rocky Mt National Park is just footsteps from our front porch.
Inside, you will find a comfortably designed living space offering 2 bedrooms, 2 bath, a fully stocked kitchen, granite countertops, dining area with seating for 6 , living area with pull out sofa sleeper, electric fireplace and Smart TV. There is also a laundry room & oversized walk in closet/dressing room for comfortable living.
The Master Bedroom offers views of Longs Peak, a new memory foam King Sized bed, and full bathroom with a bathtub. The Secondary Bedroom looks out at the woods and beautiful rock outcroppings. It includes a new memory foam Queen Sized bed. The additional full sized bathroom is located next to the bedroom.
All windows coverings have "black out" blinds.
Outdoor dining space, a BBQ, & hammock are located next to our Hot Tub on the front porch. Here you will enjoy the Rocky Mt sunshine, as well as night time stargazing. You can also expect visits from Elk, Deer, Bear, Turkeys, Marmot, Hummingbirds & more.
Additionally, we have a historic ‘Tiny Barn’, which looks out at a view of "The Notch". This is a "Toy Box" for all ages. The extra space is furnished with a leather sofa, a TV & dedicated work space. Childrens Toys & books, a collection of RMNP maps, a dart board, Corn Hole, sleds, snow shoes & even a massage chair are some of the extras you will find in this whimsical space. This space can also be used as additional storage for guests.
*Please note that the building is not insulated. A space heater is provided, but it may not be suitable on blustery winter days.

This home is in a great location-close to the park entrance and downtown Estes.Comfortable beds, cozy space. Unfortunately we were not able to use the little shed-lots of cool stuff in there, but we were out exploring RMNP as much as we could.Carrie was super responsive too with all questions we had

This property was amazing! It was super clean and organized. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cookware. The game shed was a fun space! The hot tub was clean and separate towels were provided. We'd definitely stay here again!

Carrie’s place was a great base for our trip to RMNP. The hot tub was a nice bonus for relaxing after a long day of hiking. We enjoyed our stay!

Our stay was excellent overall. Everything was clean. It was bigger inside than we expected. Definitely a cozy little place to spend our vacation.

This house was perfect for our family of 5. It was fully furnished right down to shampoo. Perfect location for Estes Park and RMNP. A bobcat walked by our house the first night while we were outside. Saw other wildlife from the deck, like turkey and a grazing deer. Spent every night in the hot tub. Kids enjoyed the game barn and disc golf behind the house. No complaints! Would book this place again for sure.

Our host was great and easy to work with. The home was spotless when we arrived and we didn't have any issues while we were there. We do wish there had been more lounge seating in the living room. With four adults and one kid-someone was always on the floor. The drive up to the house isn't for every car and we were glad we had the Subaru!Wildlife was a bonus! WOW!

Thanks for your feedback Laura, however your public statement seems a bit misleading. FYI for prospective future guests, there are additional "lounging chairs" in the Tiny Barn, which can be used in the home, along with 2 comfortable living room chairs and a full sized sofa.

Cabin was exactly as described, very neat and clean. The only complaint I had was that there were no washcloths or dishcloths. Great location!

Thank You for your nice review. I am disappointed that you did not find the dish towels in the basket in the pantry and am unclear on the shortage of wash clothes. We have extras of everything! I m disappointed by the idea that you were frustrated and did not reach out so that we could easily remedy the issue. It is our goal to provide an A experience for all guests:)

Ms. Carrie is an excellent host! She was quick with communication and responses. She’s done an excellent job with the property. The teenagers love the “barn” and everyone loved the hot tub. Fully equipped kitchen and laundry makes this an excellent economical choice! Quiet neighborhood, local animal friends, quick access to RMNP/town and beautiful views are a BONUS! Definitely on our list when we return to the area someday! Thank you Ms. Carrie!

Great cabin! Very well stocked with cute little extra tiny cabin for hanging out and games. Well designed layout and all one level inside. My husband has mobility issues and a walker for indoors and only had to navigate 3 steps up to porch using the very sturdy handrail and then all level. Hard to find in mountain areas. We really enjoyed our stay. Covered front porch and hot tub wonderful! A bonus of house being off main dirt road - no dust from cars passing by. Only had 1 car drive by on our section during entire 5 night stay. Very peaceful!Do not use GPS directions from VRBO. It will take you to a back area with no access to house. Coming from main Estes Park area on CO 66, turn right on the dirt road right at the Vahalla Resort sign. Go down just a short way until you see a green house on your right with a red and white garage behind it. Immediately after this turn right on another dirt road (the street sign is Thor and you can see the resort swimming pool to your left). You will see the Carriewood house on the right further up that road. If you drive past the swimming pool, you went too far and missed turning. Don't hesitate to book - you will love it!

We loved our stay here! The hot tub was our favorite part, and we loved getting to watch the wildlife from it. We saw elk, deer, and turkeys! The tiny cabin was also really cute. The host was very kind and gave awesome recommendations too. Hiking in RMNP was so pretty and we loved being so close to everything. Antonio’s pizza is a 10/10. We will be back!

The cabin was just as described, cozy but comfortable. The stay was good, just as expected. Everything was clean and well kept and stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay. I would stay here again.

It was a perfect location, I don't think you can get any closer to one of the entrances to the national park. Just a few minutes from Estes Park downtown, the kids loved seeing all the Christmas lights in town. We will be back many more times.

Great cabin in a fantastic location. Hot tub was great. Kitchen was well stocked. There was plenty of room for our family of 4. I would stay here again!

Great place and location
We had a great stay! Cabin is nice and the area it’s in is beautiful. Kids enjoyed having the mini barn to hang out in on their own and we all enjoyed the hot tub. Location is super convenient to RMNP and everything in Estes Park.
