Gem House

Gem House is a great spot to discover all that Erie has to offer. With its proximity to Mercyhurst University, Gannon University Penn State Behrend, and LECOM, Gem House is a perfect spot to stay while visiting a local student or the surrounding attractions. The house is centrally located with easy access to Presque Isle, Waldameer, the Erie Zoo, downtown Erie, and Millcreek Mall. With so much to see and do, you’ll soon see why Erie is also known as the “Gem City.”

While Gem House can sleep 6, it is ideal for couples, small families, or a group of 3 or 4 friends, as it is a cozy, little Cape Cod home.

Well stocked!

The house was clean, cozy, and very well stocked. Had everything we needed for a quick weekend stay. Nice neighborhood and stores, bars, and restaurants located close by.

Great Place - Great Experience

Not only if this place clean and well maintained but the owners are very communicative and prompt with responses. It is also very close location wise to just about anything your going to do in Erie! Great stay would certainly stay again!

Enjoyable stay

Small house but comfortable. Owners/host thought of everything. Location was close to all the places we wanted to visit. Didn't have any problems and enjoyed the stay, Would stay again.

It was a clean, cozy gem

The house is located near "everything." It was clean upon arrival and the backyard is big enough to enjoy (let the kids play). The beds are comfortable and the washer and dryer work well.

Nice getaway

We had a nice stay with our family. We were close to everything, including Presque Isle State Park and Waldameer Park. We enjoyed the back porch and firepit during early mornings evenings.

Loved the Gem House!

We loved staying at the Gem House! The property and home were so beautiful, and conveniently located close to everything we needed! The home was clean and cared for, and we truly appreciate everything that was provided! It made for the perfect long weekend spot for me and a few friends!

Wonderful stay

We truly enjoyed our holiday week at the house. The location is great, close to shops and activities. We found a new favorite game from their supplied games. The hosts are very responsive, we had one minor issue with a damaged pot and they had a new full set delivered samw day. We would definitely stay again!

We are from Orange County, California, but decided to buy a house in each of the towns where our two daughters attended college. Yes! They both left the warm California sun for very cold and snowy places! They love the change of seasons and cultures that are so different from Southern California. Our oldest daughter graduated from the University of Wyoming, so we have a house in Laramie, which is currently being rented full-time. In Erie, we decided to buy this home to rent to others looking for a comfortable and cozy spot to enjoy Erie like we do when we're visiting our Junior at Mercyhurst.

Gem House is very special to us. Our daughter attends Mercyhurst University, just 3 miles down the street. We fell in love with Erie and the surrounding areas when we first came to visit the universities in the area with her on her college tours. We bought this house as a home base for us to use when we head to Erie to visit her, and as a place for others to enjoy when we aren’t in town. We hope that you enjoy our home away from home as much as we do!
