Experience the Blue Ridge Mountains atop Bent Mountain. Views of the Roanoke Valley and the Blue Ridge Parkway stretch over 100 miles. Miles of horse and hiking trails right out your back door. The cabin is part of a 450-acre farm and is very private offering a mountainous serene setting. Furnished with period antiques and luxurious linens and bedding. Cozy up to the outdoor stone fireplace and lay back for star gazing. Only 25 minutes to fine dining, entertainment, and the Roanoke Regional Airport.

Strict NO pet policy, please do not ask.

Beautiful views

This was our second stay at the cabin. We love the cozy cabin and the veiw from the porch. The cabin is well stocked, has comfortable beds, plenty of fire wood, and very clean. Our favorite thing about staying there is the hiking trails.

As always with this owners properties, they are clean and immaculate. Everything you need is provided, (even firewood for fires). The cabin is gorgeous, with awesome views. We will be back , again !

“Best cabin on the mountain”

The Overlook Cabin was so much better than we expected. The property is extremely quiet and the view is incredible. The cabin is very old but very comfortable and nicely decorated. There are numerous wineries in the area and great food nearby. Communication with the owner was great. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely Log Cabin on top of a Mountain

This is the second time we have stayed here. You will want 4-wheel drive to get up the driveway, but once you are up there it is a beautiful getaway. The kitchen is well stocked and the house is very comfortable. We loved the outdoor fireplace.

The Best!

My husband and I have used VRBO many times over the years and have been very satisfied with the properties. However, this place was by far my husband’s favorite of all time. The property took us back in time but gave us all today’s amenities. AND the views-priceless! If you love nature, quiet, relaxing, and reading, this is your place. If you love indoor and outdoor fireplaces, this is the place. If you love hiking, this is the place. If you love sitting on a covered front porch, having a drink and talking while it rains, this is the place. If you love being 30 minutes to Roanoke’s restaurants, shopping, and other amenities, this is the place. If you love being 15 minutes to Floyd and it’s small town atmosphere, this is the place. Bottom line—-this is the place. BUT only when we aren’t booked there again!😎

Beds comfy. Outside fire place a pleasure. Morning coffee on overlook porch relaxing. Good stacked washer/dryer. Hiking right out front door. Definitely stay again!

Beautiful view from a wonderful cabin

My husband and I spent a weekend at the cabin with my mom while in the area for a sporting event. We also managed to fit in a couple of wineries. The cabin is lovely and well-appointed. The newer extension stays warmer than the cabin. This meant that the toasty bedroom over the kitchen was perfect for my mom and the bedroom over the great room stayed a little cooler which was perfect for us! We bundled up to watch the sun set and Roanoke light up in the evening and then lit a fire and enjoyed some wine and conversation. I would definitely plan a return visit!!!

Amazing stay

Unexpected gem of a property. We loved walking the trails around the log cabin, playing checkers and UNO in front of the fireplace in the living room. Floyd within 30 minute drive and great restaurant 5 minute drive from the cabin. Would love to stay again for another long weekend. Highly recommend!

Blissful Mountain Stay

What an amazing property! I've stayed at my fair share of rentals, and this one surely ranked towards the top of the list. A little tricky to navigate to, but absolutely worth it once you get to the 'top'. We spent the majority of our time outside looking over the beautiful mountain scape and Roanoke. The trails on the property were really fun to explore which was an added bonus! Cell service is spotty inside the home, but accessible outside. You can tell there's a lot of TLC that went into this special home, and we greatly appreciate Jim sharing it with us. We hated having to leave and would certainly return for another stay!
