Perched overlooking Merriconeag Sound rests this charming, beautifully furnished 2BR, 1BA Bailey Island cottage. Perfectly located in the West Shore neighborhood, you'll love being within walking distance of all the islands have to offer including Cook's Lobster & Ale House, Sundrenched, Fishnet Cafe, Bailey Island General Store, and just a short drive away from other great local eats. Spend your days lounging on the sunlit deck watching the lobster boats pass by or go on a nearby adventure. Just make sure you make it back in time for the glorious sunsets over the sound.

Inside the cottage are two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed, a full bathroom with a shower, fully stocked kitchen, and a living room area with a sofa, two chairs and a flat screen TV. For additional comfort, the cottage offers heat pumps with A/C for hot summer days. Outside there is an elevated deck with a picnic table, umbrella, and two adirondack chairs, a yard area, and stairs to access the waterfront.

Experience Maine, the way life should be, at Sea Ledge North and it will surely beckon you back for years to come!

Please note- The stairs to access the waterfront are very steep. For easy kayak access, we would recommend launching from Garrison Cove, just down the road.

Great Stay in Maine

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a peaceful and relaxing time at Sea Ledge North. The house has been redone and is comfortable. We enjoyed the extras such as phone chargers and fusbol.The only drawback is that the bedrooms are downstairs and the bathroom is upstairs. We plan to return in the spring!

Stunning sunsets and quiet location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We did a mother-daughter 5-night get-away to this cottage and it was perfect. We had a combination of relaxing and being active. We hiked/walking local trails like Devil's Back, Giant's Stairs, Otter Brook Preserve, and Cliff Trail. We enjoyed Cedar Beach and although you can walk there (we did twice), if you're taking a lot of stuff with you you'll want to drive and parking is very limited. We did mostly take out for dinner because we just wanted to keep enjoying the deck! Had excellent food from all of these places: Sundrenched Cafe (lobster roll and lobster BLT), Bailey Island General Store (twice - lobster roll lunch and another day pizza for dinner), Cook's (twice - once for dinner and once for lunch after walking a loop from the house to Cedar Beach back around to Cook's then to the cottage). We did not have an opportunity to kayak as the day we planned for that was way too windy. We explored the back end stones and stone ledge, but I wouldn't recommend swimming off the property as it is very difficult to navigate and the seaweed is very thick - much easier to take a dip at Cedar Beach. The property was clean and the kitchen provided everything we needed for our stay. We left our cone coffee filters for the next visitor as neither of us has the need for that filter type at home. The TV has all the loaded apps you'd need if a day is dreary, and there are games as well. But if the weather is good and you don't feel like going anywhere, reading on the day, listening to the boats and the water lapping on the rocks, and smelling the salt air until the gorgeous sunset is a complete day!

They say 'You can't go home again'....but we did

I summered on these islands as a child 60+ years ago and wondered how they would be now. The islands feel the same as they did all those years ago. The crib stone bridge still stands strong (my grandfather was the 2nd car to drive over it in 1928). Lands End still sits at the farthest point of land and offers all the memories you could want. And Cooks still sells fresh lobster and seafood with a stunning view. The cottage was beyond our expectations, we spent hours on the deck watching the ocean as it ebbed and flowed through the tides. The cottage was updated and so comfortable from the furniture and beds to the well stocked kitchen. We felt a little sad leaving Bailey's but know we will return someday and it will remain the quintessential Maine Island I loved as a child.

Relaxation

The home is charming, clean, has plenty of amenities, and a stunning view overlooking Casco Bay. We enjoyed meals on the deck watching the sailboats and lobstermen pass and gorgeous sunsets. The location is very quiet and tucked in giving it a cozy feel. We've been coming to Bailey Island for nearly 40 years now and we were fortunate to stumble upon this home as the one we have always rented was badly damaged from the storms last winter. Everyone at Maine Stay Vacation was helpful and friendly and answered any and all of our questions.

Great location for walks, close to trails for hikes, restaurants and a home base for exploring other Islands or just hanging out. Kitchen has everything, also books and board games and a foosball table! Staff was very friendly and communicative and responded to a few questions within an hour. Had a wonderful time, hope to be back.

The property manager(s) were very friendly and accommodating. I wish the property had a bathroom in the lower level located near the bedrooms. I would have also liked having laundry facilities on the property. Because of the location of the cabin, going to the nearest place to do laundry would have been very time consuming.

Amazing View

The refrigerator was noisy, and the shower drain can’t manage the flow so it builds up. It is noted in the ad, but the bathroom being on a different floor than the bedroom was difficult for me in the middle of the night. But, the absolutely incredible view makes up for those minor irritations.
