The Space:
If you are looking for a unique and charming getaway centrally located in Harpers Ferry with riverfront access and a hot tub - this is it! Located in Bolivar, a subset of Harpers Ferry, you’ll find eclectic art and amazing features. Three bedrooms, sleeping 6 guests, is the perfect getaway or gathering place for friends, family or small group looking to get out of town - just an hour from DC and Northern Virginia.
The first floor bedroom has an electric “wood burning” stove and a cozy-cool feel with original stone floors. A full bathroom is nearby with a rain shower and live-edge stone sink and exposed stone walls. The sitting area has a Roku TV and plenty of space for your group to gather and catch up. The kitchen has an authentic stone fireplace and plenty of space to cook and interact with family and friends in the sitting area. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom. The bathroom has a freestanding tub and shower. The primary bedroom has a queen bed and a picturesque changing room with an antique (and beautiful!) vanity and full length mirror. Brides - this is the perfect spot to get ready and make lasting memories! A rollaway cot is available, if needed.

Please note: Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!
In the Area:
Harpers Ferry is a blend of adventure, entertainment, history, and nature. Whether you’re into hiking, kayaking, history, or betting on the slots, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in this beautiful, historic area:
1. Harpers Ferry Historic District (distance from house - 10 mins): Stroll through the Historic District, with its cobblestone streets, old brick buildings, and charming shops. The district is a step back in time, with preserved 19th-century architecture. The Harpers Ferry Train Station is also a noteworthy stop if you love history and old railways. Feeling adventurous? Harpers Ferry has a haunted past, and there are ghost tours available in the evenings. You can explore the darker side of the town's history, visiting old churches, graveyards, and other eerie spots
2. Appalachian Trail (distance from house - 10 mins): Runs through Harpers Ferry, and the town is often considered the "psychological halfway point" for thru-hikers. If you're into hiking or nature walks, you can take a short hike to see breathtaking views of the Potomac River and the surrounding mountains.
3. Jefferson Rock (distance from house - 20 mins): Located within the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Jefferson Rock is a scenic viewpoint named after Thomas Jefferson, who visited the area in 1783 and admired the view. It’s a short hike to the top, where you’ll get a fantastic view of the rivers and surrounding landscape.
4. Tour the Local Wineries & Breweries (distance from house - 20 mins): Home to a number of local wineries and breweries. Stop by Breaux Vineyards or The Harpers Ferry Brewing Company for a relaxing afternoon of wine tasting or craft beer sampling.
5. Catoctin Mountain Park (distance from house - 50 mins): A bit farther out, Catoctin Mountain Park offers great hiking opportunities with views of the surrounding landscape. It's a more rugged park with excellent trails for varying skill levels, including the Catoctin Mountain Trail and Blue Ridge Trail.
We’d love to host you!

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.
Qué distingue a esta propiedad
We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Old Stonehouse in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
