There is a good reason for this beach house to have a 10 rating with guests. Our family had a wonderful! Stay!Most appreciative to our host Michael!

We really enjoyed our time here. The home is in a great location and it was very well equipped with everything we would need for our time on Whidbey. I also really liked the decor and the home was very clean.

Great Trip

Spent a few days here to kick off the summer and had a great time. Perfect beach house with plenty of room for our family of 4. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and great location. Would definitely stay again!

Perfect beach house

We were so pleased to find this house for our family time at Usless Bay. The house had everything we needed for family gatherings, beach time and play time. The beds were comfortable and numerous and the living space was bright, open and spacious. We couldn't have asked for more.

Great home!

House was fantastic. Very clean and comfortable. The location is great. We were only here for a short time and are already talking about possibly coming back to take full advantage of all the house and area has to offer!

We had a terrific stay at Michael's home near Double Bluff beach. The space was incredibly well appointed and in perfect proximity to the beach. Couldn't recommend more. Five starts!

Homey Place to Stay with Prime Location

Truly wonderful, cozy home. We were staying a long weekend for a wedding when a cold, storm front came through. Bundling by the fire and catching up and playing games with friends are such wonderful memories. The property is very well taken care of and strategically laid out for a great stay.

Useless Bay

We enjoyed our stay. The house is exactly as described and very clean, well-appointed and comfortable. The location is on the Deer Lagoon side of Shore Ave and a short walk to scenic Double Bluff Beach. Michael provided very detailed information about the house, helpful suggestions for the area, and was very responsive.

A great find on Useless Bay

Great house! Clean, bright, comfortable. Kitchen well stocked. We only used one bedroom and the mattress was very comfortable. We were there for a wedding and had multiple houses so we had easy beach access. Such a fun restful visit. Love the area too.

Pretty spot

We enjoyed the beach, well-stocked kitchen, comfy bedding, proximity to Langley, and relative proximity to Fort Casey boat launch. The knives are sharp, which is my main requirement for a good stay, and the location between a marsh and beach makes for pretty evening skies and lots of birds. Not a great value for a short trip with a small family, and bathrooms are odd, but everything worked well and everyone enjoyed themselves for 2 nights. Thanks!

Cozy Cabin on Beautiful Beach

Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay in this cozy, clean cabin in a quiet neighborhood. Just a short walk to one of the best beaches on Whidbey! We were able to walk our crab pot out at low tide. The cabin has two floors, which was perfect since we have teens. The host provided good recommendations for stores and restaurants near by, but the well-appointed kitchen made it easy to stay put and enjoy our time in this peaceful and fun location. We will be back!

Family thanksgiving

Best vrbo kitchen ever! We cooked TG dinner in the kitchen and all the appliances and tools we needed were there, even odd items like a pie plate. Fire and upstairs were especially cozy and great for games and puzzles, and the open plan meant people could cook, play, and read all in the same space. Beds very comfy. We had beautiful weather and walked to beach, drove into Langley, and ended by visiting Fort Casey State Park. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful place

The whole area is completely idyllic the home is situated right behind the beach with a lagoon behind you. The whole area is unique and that the beach is a sand beach unlike any other Beach in the Seattle area. The house has every amenity you can think of with a beautiful deck to boot with a view of the ocean only 200 ft away. Great place for families or just a couple looking to get away from the city. Our family absolutely loved it. Michael was a great communicator and was available for every need what a great host.

We were a family of six coming in from San Diego, CA for a family reunion. We had a wonderful time staying at this cabin for many reasons. Michael made it very easy to check in, the kitchen was well stocked, there were plenty of towels in the bathrooms, the beds were comfortable and it was super clean when we arrived.But what made it even more special for me was that I have been coming to this cabin since 1967 as my father helped my uncle build parts of it. Us thirteen kids have a lot of memories in this cabin.It was a wonderful cabin to stay in while we ran up to the main cabin in the front lot for the reunion which was built back in 1945. We hope to be back soon.

Comfortable, well-appointed home near the water

What a great place to spend two days relaxing and rejuvenating after a 5 day backpacking trip in the Olympics. The Double Bluff home is in a central location on the island with walkable access to a great beach. We very much enjoyed our time chilling in the great room on the second floor, cooking in the open kitchen, and lounging on the front deck, and the whole family was comfortable in our bedrooms on the lower level. Everything was as described and we received helpful information before we arrived about nearby restaurants and things to do on the island as well as clear instructions from Michael on the check in and check out process.

Wonderful Stay at beautiful Useless Bay beach house

This beautiful beach house was exactly as described. The house was clean, and comfortable and had everything that you could possibly need for a wonderful week at the beach. The host was very responsive, kind and made sure we had everything we needed , including bringing over lawn games . We used the beach chairs that he provided every day and the location of the house is perfect. It is close to grocery stores and restaurants and the beautiful seaside town of Langley. The host was very gracious when I said I wanted to have family who live on the island over for dinner. We were very sad to leave and will book this lovely house again.

Luxury Cabin in a Beautiful Neighborhood

Owner was very communicative and accommodating. The home had all that we needed and was so close to the shore. Our family of 4 (with 4mo and 4yo) met up with our family friends (a couple w small dog) to reunite and low key celebrate their wedding anniversary. We really enjoyed exploring low tide and the beach, playing board games on the deck and having dinner/wine in the evenings watching sunset. The location is beautiful with a short walk to the beach (they even provide towels/blankets for the beach). Overall 10/10 recommend! Thank you :)

Perfect Whidbey Weekend!

LOVED our stay at Double Bluff Beach and this cabin (house, really) was perfect! Immaculately clean, well appointed (we wanted for nothing in the kitchen), comfortable beds and linens, thoughtful extras - it was all there. The street was quiet but not sleepy (folks on walks during the day and an easy stroll to the beach). Our group of adults especially appreciated the cozy inside fire, morning coffee on the deck, evenings around the fire pit, games, and bartending accouterments. Michael was quick to respond and offered loads of helpful suggestions to maximize our time on the island. Can't wait to come back - it would be perfect for the kids too! Thank you, Michael!

They house was good and had a well stocked kitchen for cooking, there were necessary space heaters because the bottom floor was colder (we visited in February) and plenty of towels. The reason I knocked off a star is because during check out I got a surprise fee for required insurance for my weekend or allowing unrefundable access to 1500 in my bank account. I paid the fee begrudgingly, but wish that the owner would just get their own property insured instead of surprising me in checkout. This is classic drip pricing and is a very bad sales tactic.

This is classic drip pricing and is a very bad sales tactic.” This has nothing to do with the owner of the property, but is required by VRBO. This is something that is the guests choice (when you book the property.) VRBO requires guests to choose insurance to protect them for any damage they may cause, it has nothing to do with the owner. Any VRBO rental anywhere will require this fee or the $1500 hold. We would appreciate it if you updated the review and state any negative feelings you have about the VRBO required insurance toward them and not toward our property.

Comfy, cozy, beach getaway!

We love this house! The house is tastefully decorated in a contemporary style which I love. The house is older and very well kept and updated! The natural light with all the windows was lovely! A front porch with a view of Mt. Rainer and a peak at the Ocean always kept me smiling. The back porch was an awesome place to watch my kiddo play in the big back yard! The neighborhood was filled with lovely people who were all SO kind. It was unbelievable how quiet the community was. We walked to the beach at least 2 times a day. It was a 1/2 each way so about a mile total. My toddler brought his bike and it was just the perfect place to enjoy family time, beach time, and all Widbey has to offer!

Relaxing Weekend Get Away

Our stay at this charming home was very much needed. It was super clean and maintained. The Double Bluff beach was a short bike ride away where my kids and I had a fun day together. The house has a front deck and a back deck. We utilized both. On the front deck you can see the water and feel a nice breeze. The back deck faces a nature preserve, where if you like bird watching there are plenty of those! Langley is close by with restaurants and some fun shops. We also ate in Freeland. Freeland is closer and has a nice grocery store. The house is well stocked with dishes, silverware, pots and pans. The amenities in the kitchen are great! The beds are also comfortable! The owner of the home was great and explained everything very well! This was a great place to stay and we will definitely be back!

Quaint, quiet, and overall easy going. The location was just perfect for the weekend planned. My Dad and I found ourselves with just the right level sun, and fun on the south end. I could have easily stayed another day or to, if only life always gets in the way.
