Kick back & relax at Boaty McBeach House—a cozy cottage ideally situated on The Point. 3 blocks to the beach & 1 block to sunsets on the bay + fun waterfront eateries.
Just over an hour from DC or Richmond, a huge transformation awaits in quiet, quirky and fun(ky) Colonial Beach.
You get the whole home, a large yard & a fab locale in our walkable, bikeable, *boatable*, golf-cartable, quirky little town. (Yes, you can arrive by boat, or rent our captained boat too!)
The home flows naturally and feels airy and spacious for its size. Both the king bedroom and queen bedroom are super comfy and cozy. The living room includes a pull out queen sofa if you want to squeeze in 2 more.
Beyond the bedrooms, the house includes one full bathroom, a large dining table in an open-plan, brightly lit kitchen/dining area. The front porch is shaded after the early morning, and the back porch is open and sunny. The large back yard is fenced in and includes grass and patio space with a gas grill.
The home includes lots of free off-street parking, and is an easy walk to the bay, the beach, and to restaurants on the water or downtown. Rent golf carts or use the bikes to explore a little further, or hop in your car and hit historic sites or beautiful vineyards.
Arrive by boat and walk 1.5 blocks from the dock to the house, and then spend a few days exploring the lower Potomac River, Shark's Tooth Island, or venture out into the Chesapeake Bay.

Perfect for our Stay
The house is in a great location, and is very nicely decorated and extremely well provisioned. The owner is very welcoming and responsive.

This was our first time in Colonial Beach, but the host gave us so much insider information we felt like locals! The house was centrally located and we walked everywhere the whole time we were there. We LOVED the proximity to the beach and the Ice House Brewery & Kitchen. The house was beautiful, very clean, and well stocked with linens, toiletries, & anything you would need to cook. We also loved the front porch, and had our coffee out there every morning. Matthew was very easily accessible and communicated well before, during, and after our stay. Check in was smooth and check out instructions were clear. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area!

Our family had a wonderful time here!! The house was super clean and comfortable. Matt was great at communicating and making sure we had all the info we needed to make our stay stress free. We rented the charter boat through him and I HiGHLY recommend this. We have 2 girls (4 & 7) and it was so much fun for all of us (Shark Tooth Island and the lighthouse) tours with Captain Dave was the highlight of our trip. Also recommend renting a golf cart to explore the town. It was quiet and relaxing and just what we needed. The town is very chill and clean.

Fantastic beachy home! We were very comfortable during our stay in this clean, quirky cottage. Loved the cool artwork and interesting decor, the kitchen had all the tools we needed to cook, beds were comfy, plenty of towels etc! The walk to the beach is short, and the home had a lot of beach supplies for use, like chairs, toys, etc. The back yard is great, plenty of space to play and relax. Would def stay again if we come back to CB!

Amazing experience! Host was very responsive and the the property was perfect. Porch and deck were very inviting. Bed was very comfy and house had everything we needed for a long weekend.Location made it very easy to walk to a local waterfront restaurant several times for breakfast and in the evening. The town itself was also very walkable with plenty of options. We rarely used the car. Would definitely stay here again!

We fell in love in with Colonial Beach as a natural first destination toward or returning from the Chesapeake. Boating in the area is fantastic, and we soon learned we loved the vibe of the town, too. After twenty years visiting, we decided to plant roots, and then decided to share it with others.

The house has a great vibe... simple, but well organized, and a good flow. The bedrooms are cozy and the living room is welcoming. The dining room is bright and is connected to the kitchen. The yard is large, and the location is excellent.

The house sits on "The Point" in Colonial Beach. 1.5 blocks west is one of our favorite restaurants on the water, the Ice House. Another block brings you to a friendly Mexican restaurant. A few blocks north puts you in the heart of town, with more food, shops, and ice cream. Walk 3 blocks east and you're at the beach. The house is easy in, easy out with a large driveway, a fun front patio and lots of space out back.
