Property was double booked. Arrived to the house with other guests already there. Host offered another property but it was 30 minutes away from our activities for the weekend. Had to find a hotel at the last minute. Unfortunately that was our experience.

There was confusion w the check in, it said 3 on the reservation but 4 in the DMs. The house was filthy, only one light in the whole living room worked. The host’s daughter did remedy this the next day. The “play area” outside is full of ankle-breaking divots . There was a wasp infestation and my friend got stung while he was sleeping. I stayed two nights of my four nights and couldn’t take it anymore so we left, and requested less than half of what we spent as a refund. The host seemed open to that, and promised to be in touch w VBRO. 4 days later, she still hadn’t contacted them, and I contacted VBRO, and they refunded me independently of her. I get that things happen and sometimes it’s bad luck. Had the host been proactively communicating w me and VBRO to make this right, my review would look different.
