An unique ocean front location on the Midcoast region.
This cottage is situated 100 feet from beautiful Penobscot Bay taking in stunning ocean views from every room of the cottage -- schooners, lobster boats, nature & more. It’s conveniently located minutes from Camden village and Camden Hills State Park.
This is a charming vintage style two-bedroom cottage rental. Master bedroom has a queen size bed. Second bedroom has 2 twin beds. Other features include a fully furnished open space living space arrangement; tongue -n- groove interior walls, hardwood floors, heat, kitchen facilities, dining room and full bathroom suite with walk-in shower/dressing area with unique shower porthole ocean view window. This is an ideal getaway to relax in privacy or explore the beautiful surrounding area. This cottage sleeps 2-4 people comfortably. Private setting & parking.

The location was perfect, just outside of town and right on the water. Town is close enough to enjoy the many wonder restaurants and places to shop. This rental is a place of peace and tranquility, with a spatula view. Extremely happy with the cottage and the owner.

Idyllic Vacation

We had a wonderful stay at Evelyn's Penobscot Cottage. The view from the deck was spectacular - even better than we were expecting from the pictures. The kitchen had everything you would want, the beds were comfortable, and the cottage was charming. We hope to be back!

Pretty good place

Nice views and solid location Facilities could use some attention Deck railing unsafe Unfinished is OK but sheet rock would keep things warmer or cooler as temp varies Had fun and relaxed

Charming cottage with best Maine view ever

Our charming cottage overlooked Penobscot Bay. It featured a wonderful plant-filled deck to catch the sun and bay view. Inside it was clean and eclectically decorated with comfy chairs and beds and a well stocked kitchen. Better than advertised.

Idyllic Bayfront Retreat

WOW. What a place. Quiet, stunning setting. Tastefully appointed cottage. Beautiful landscaping. Roomier than in the pictures. Great kitchen setup. We had almost all our meals here. Super convenient to Camden and Lake Megunticook, or just watch and listen to the tide come in and out. If you like being right by the water, it’s hard to beat Penobscot Cottage. We look forward to coming back.

Oh this house is something special! Absolutely gorgeous view of the water. Ducks, sailing boats, wildlife. Spent hours beach combing. Found fabulous rocks. The house is filled with whimsy-so many cute and adorable touches. The screened porch is so quaint. The windows are huge and make you feel like you are in the water. Saw the sunrise light up the sky every day. Evelyn has thought of everything that you will need. I leave with a full heart and a peace that feels like a gift. I cannot wait to return. It’s our favorite rental ever.

Great return trip!

This was our second stay in Penobscot Cottage, and it did not disappoint! In a year where we've had very little chance to get away, this was exactly what we needed. Amazing views and peaceful. We explored the rocky beach, watching crabs and snails in the tidal pool, and found sea urchins and mussels amongst the rocks. We were able to launch our paddleboards right in front of the cottage and explore the coastline from the water. Camden shops, boats, and restaurants were a 5 minute drive, and we did some antiquing along the coast. Just what we needed, and Evelyn is a great host!

Simply Magical

After driving down a long wooded lane, you leave behind the hustle and bustle of Highway 1 just north of Camden, and arrive at this enchanted ocean-front cottage. The setting is simply stunning. Step through the front door and - I kid you not - it's like entering a magical, parallel universe. My wife and I stayed at this property for a delightful week, and right up to the last morning kept noticing little touches of whimsy added to the decor that create a truly unique vacation environment. And talking of whimsy, we loved the port hole in the shower looking out to the breaking waves! The location is peaceful, and the view from the deck includes working lobster boats, passing schooners, and during our stay, a breathtaking blue moon. We checked out several area lobster shacks during our stay, but found it worth the drive up the coast to Belfast for the quality and value offered by Young's Lobster Pound. You can sit out on the deck overlooking the sailboat-filled bay while enjoying your feast or, as we did, have the very helpful staff cook your chosen lobsters to go. Aah, succulent crustacean, chilled wine and a moonlit ocean hideaway with the one you love. Life doesn't get much better than that.

Fabulous views of the ocean. Sunrises were amazing over the bay. Night skies had much less light pollution for awesome viewing. Very workable kitchen with wonderful grocery stores for delicious food choices if you like to cook. Very cozy and rustic cabin. We were there a week and absolutely loved it!

Perfect week !

We stayed for a week this year, after a month stay last September . Only complaint was it was only a week . We love love this place . What a location . What a view . Easy distance from downtown Camden and Camden hills state park . Hope to be back next year as well.

Lovely, cosy cottage!

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. We visited in early November, and despite a major windstorm on our first night and some freezing temperatures later in the week, the cottage was perfectly comfortable - we were snug as a bug. We enjoyed the luxurious shower and the well-outfitted kitchen. Each morning we could sit out on the deck and watch the sunrise and the lobster boats at work. The cottage is located within easy walking distance of Camden Hills State Park and a longer but very manageable walk into town. We will be returning!

A Maine Coast Gem

The wide ocean view, the spacious and connected living-dining area, and the warm decor overall made our stay truly wonderful. We loved scrambling on the rocks along the coast at low tide. If you’re looking for a tranquil spot close to great offerings (Mt. Battie hiking, Camden dining, and more), this is it. Hope to be back!

Wonderful stay

We were there for 2 weeks. Cottage is cozy, snug, and delightful. View of Penobscot Bay from the deck was awesome- we never tired of it.No negatives and strongly recommended, especially for a couple.

Beautiful setting,

The setting was beautiful. Sun rises and sun sets were awesome. We saw a porpoise from the deck of the house and enjoyed the tidal changes. Owner was very responsive to resolving all unexpected issues. We enjoyed out stay.

Better Than We Expected

I can honestly say that the house was much more then we expected when we headed up for our week in Maine. It was spotless when we arrived. The siting, overlooking the Bay, was tranquil, peaceful and beautiful. The location, deep in the woods but literally minutes to downtown Camden was incredibly convenient. Over the course of the week we noticed little artistic details both inside and outside the home that delighted my wife and me. All in all, an outstanding visit in a great little seaside cottage.

Wonderful except can get too hot

We had a wonderful stay at this cottage and Evelyn was extremely quick for any questions/inquiries. The tide pool is amazing and we enjoyed the rustic cottage which has almost everything you need. The only issue we had was some sweltering heat. I realize many rentals in Maine do not have AC since often it's not needed, however the cottage is perched up and in the sun, and on hot days it heats up until very late in the evening. Even using all the fans, curtains, windows, etc. we had several extremely hot days and it was very hard to remain comfortable, or our children to get to sleep until very late in the evening after the heat of the day lifted. When we left today it was an extreme heat wave (90's) and I couldn't imagine being there in this atypical heat. I hope the owner can look into a small unit to cool the cottage on hot days as there is no relief from the sun. Also a sun umbrella on the porch would be helpful too as it is all in direct sun. We loved this cottage despite these two things, and realize heat is totally outside the owners control and hey it's Maine and often cooler. The neighbors were lovely, very nice and thoughtful and we enjoyed playing in the tide pool, renting a kayak, etc. so had a great time but hope something can be done to address how hot the cottage can get.

A cozy, well-equipped cottage right on Penobscot Bay, with full ocean views, incredible sunrises, and a large deck to view it all! Close access to town, and wonderful tours along the coast. A treasured week's vacation!
