Kick back & relax in this fun, lively space. Escape the hustle & bustle in the allure of Sunset Shanty - a private rustic retreat. The Shanty is nestled in the woods, offering seclusion yet quick access to downtown Caseville. Enjoy the tranquility of the bay, a short walk to water access, or a short drive to the neighborhood beach, or five miles to the downtown beach. Swimming, sunbathing, boating, jet skiing, or kayaking- you name it. Maybe you're a hunter, hiker, or fisherman. Winter or summer, the Sunset Shanty is the perfect answer.
*Home is across from the lake but not on the beach- guests can walk to water access w/o a beach area within a block, also a nice sandy beach is a short 2-minute drive to the end of the road. Additionally, a very large public beach is downtown.
The space
This three-bedroom, two-bath cottage features comfortable sleeping arrangements for up to 8 guests. Inside the cottage, you will find a spacious living area with plenty of natural light and a fully equipped kitchen that allows you to cook and prepare meals with ease. The bedrooms are decorated in a fun and lively Margaritaville theme and provide a comfortable place to rest after a day of outdoor activities. The bathrooms are stocked with essential amenities. The patio has a firepit, bbq, and plenty of lounging and dining space. No close neighbors. A large serene wooded lot with a large bonfire ring surrounded by wooded lots on both sides and back. Please note-due to the woodsy and rustic area, we don't guarantee to maintain the grill or the outside furniture regularly.

It’s a nice set up, and a cute property. We used the cottage as a sort of “satellite” location, primarily for sleeping, as we had a larger property on the lake, so we really can’t comment on amenities.We had some small issues on arriving, but the host had the cleaners out to address them early the next morning. The host was super responsive throughout our stay.The property is a little “tired”. While the bathrooms and main surfaces were spotless, the oven, window, windowsills, ceiling fans, etc. could use a deep clean. It’s on a wooded lot, so expect bugs and cobwebs …

It was cold and rainy during our stay. We found things to do in caseville and drove over to the retro place in bad axe and had alot of fun.saw alot of deer.

The place inside was clean. The skylights are rotting out; most windows had no screens. It would have been nice to open them and get fresh air. We did get some fresh air because the front screen door doesn't fit the door frame opening, so bugs can fly in. We didn't know how clean the kitchen stuff was because the dishwasher was broken. The kitchen chairs were cheap and uncomfortable, and the house had no updated USB or phone ports. As for the outside dirt city. The one fireplace had collapsed and was still sitting in the yard, not safe for children, and a garbage can filled with trash just sitting there. They did have a patio fireplace they put on the ground with chairs around it that no one in their right mind would sit in because of the cleanliness of them. A picnic table on the patio was so dirty we couldn't eat outside, and the lighting around the patio had more lights burnt out than lit, and the ones that did work had so much dirt on them they barely shined. This was a very pet-friendly house, and close to town. The public beach was a good 45-60 minute walk. Overall it was ok it just needs some TLC.

I am glad that you found the place clean. As far as your concerns, I will address and repair the ones that we can. We do not advertise a dishwasher and we do not promise to maintain the furniture outside because it is surrounded by woods. There are actually two fire-pits there that work fine and used on a regular basis. The lights are solar so it may have not have been enough sun to charge if you found them to be not completely working. As far as the beach access, we have deeded access points. I provide info for an access that can be driven to if the walk is too far but most people are able to walk it in 10 minutes- you must go around the woods as noted in the ad. I am sorry if this was an issue for you.

We had a very relaxing stay. Communication through out was very timely. The check-in was easy. Our only disappointment was that it advertised a dishwasher and a grill and neither one was useable. The dishwasher had a sign inside that said out of order and you could tell that it had not been used for a long time. (I am not a fan of hand washing dishes) It did say that the grill propane was not guaranteed, but the grill itself was dirty and rusted and we would not feel comfortable using it. The bed was very comfortable and the shower, towels and bedding was nice. The kitchen pots, pans, and dishes were stocked nicely. The outside fire pit and chairs (a couple were broken) were nice for us to enjoy the deer that visited each evening. I would stay here again if they fixed the dishwasher.

We had a family event in the area and this was the perfect place for me and my siblings to stay and reconnect with each other. I wanted to extend our stay one more night and Tiffany helped make that happen. She was great. Thanks again Tiffany.

This is a lovely location. It’s quiet, across from Lake Huron, you can walk on the side of the road, however driving to the public lake access is not far. Tiffany is a very gracious and kind host. We will definitely stay there again when over that way.

Tiffany was a wonderful host. Her home was very comfortable, accommodating, and in a great location! Mornings were peaceful, watching the deer walk through, right from the window! Would definitely recommend.

Cute home with that beachy 5:00 somewhere kinda of vibe going on..clean..inviting..had just about everything we needed. Could have used a toaster for breakfast, but other than that we were well satisfied. Beds were comfortable and walk in shower was great. The hostess Tiffany was very helpful and always responded to all questions and inquiries. We loved the early morning and dusk time visits of the deer also. Would recommend this property and hostess anytime.

Great location

We had a great time. Everything was clean and comfortable. The house was great and the yard was a wonderland for the kids. We were lucky to have a real nice spring day so we were outside all day. Will definitely stay here again.
