The house was well appointed and convenient to our planned activities. The only problem we had was that the hot tub was not fully functioning for over half of our stay. And, this was a key amenity for as we are older guys and planned on doing a lot of hiking which we did do. VRBO did return us a portion of the rental cost which worked out ok, but it was a disappointment given that this was a key, agreed upon, on-site amenity for the group I was traveling with. And, the owner did not appear to have in place relationships for the quick repair of this situation.

On the hot tub — we responded immediately to every inquiry and provided clear instructions throughout, as well as updates on the technician check. As noted in our listing, the eco-friendly hot tub takes time to heat after a water change, which is standard for this system and disclosed upfront. We're sorry the timing didn't align with your expectations. We have 30 amenities for our guests, and take great pride in the experience we create for our guests over last 14 years. We are glad the hiking and time together at our beautiful cabin was delivered in spades.

This place was perfect. The location was great for visiting the smokies. Close enough to enjoy the area and far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. The home was extremely well appointed and the host was very thoughtful-great communication and amenities! Just enough soap, dishwasher pods, washer/dryer worked great, etc. The kids loved the hot tub with a tv screen, and the view was amazing! We stayed with three kids (ages 5,8, and 11) and had plenty of room. Highly recommend!

f you are looking for a place to stay in Wears Valley, the Scandinavian HideOut is the perfect place. The lovely and well appointed home is nestled in the mountains and is centrally located to any activities that you may want to pursue.It is minutes from Great Smoky Mountain National Park and just 20 minutes to Pigeon Forge and Townsend. If you need to get to Gatlinburg, that is just a bit longer drive through the park or down 321. After a long day of activities, return to the Scandinavian HideOut and enjoy the expansive deck to play games, enjoy the hot tub, or relax as you take in the beautiful surroundings in this peaceful and serene setting. Morning is also an optimal time to enjoy time on the deck. You are able to watch the sunrise through the treetops, and maybe you will be just lucky enought to catch a glimpse of the local bears as they amble across the backyard. Our family throughly enjoyed our week at the Scandinavian HideOut. I definitely recommend the Scandanavian HideOut for a comfortable stay in Wears Valley. Alexi and NIcola were very helpful and instrumental in making our stay in the Smokies a memorable one.

We had an absolute wonderful stay, and it was very peaceful. Just what our family needed. There were some housekeeping items that I came across, but reached out to the owner who was extremely responsive and friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Plus the coffee shop that was recommended was amazing. A perfect stay for our family.

Great location!

So easy to get to Smoky Mountain National Park! The cabin was spotless, and had everything we needed to cook. The hot tub was great to relax in after a long hike.

Fantastic Getaway

Great time away. Very clean place and had everything we needed. Hot tub was great after our hiking in the park. Location was close enough we could get to all the spots on the north side within 15 minutes. Comfortable perfect little modern place.

Wonderful retreat in the woods!

We loved our stay at the Hideout! The home is well appointed and beautifully designed. We felt like we stayed in an elegant tree house. Easy drive from Wears Valley to Townsend, National Park, Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. Loved it!

Modern cabin perfection

The Scandinavian Hideout was a great modern take on a mountain cabin that fit us perfectly. The cabin met all of our needs and provided a great experience and location in the middle of the tourist areas and the “peaceful side” of the valley. Highly recommended for a couple or small family to set up base camp while exploring all the area has to offer.
